Deep Rising has a really incredible kill where a formerly eaten crewmate is cut free of the creature, half-digested, and still conscious. For a smaller budget movie from 1998, this shot really holds up well and looks nasty.
Yep, that scene was vividly burned into my brain as a kid.

Mouth of Madness is already on my to-watch list
The other two are great movies (Army of Darkness might be a little overhyped, but I respect its place in movie history), though they didn't make the cut for my own definition of "horror movie", as I've never even made that connection in the past. Still, 2/3 is the best statistic I've pulled off so far.
ItMoM definitely feels like a John Carpenter movie made in 1985, so I'm sure it felt a bit silly in the wake of films like Silence of the Lambs. But it has a cult following.

Fixed, again.

Just realized I messed up the release years, so it's ever so slightly out of order.

Such a Sumez comment
I'm about as far from Catholic as it gets. And even the Italians didn't get that depraved in the 70s. Salo included

I haven't played many Flash games, but the first thing that comes to mind is Alien Hominid. Love that game.

I liked it back in the day and I enjoyed my replay on Switch. Never understood why it was so maligned.

I need to bust open my copy of Crash 4 at some point. Maybe for next year's challenge.

I also had the Phantasy Star collection for GBA, and I forced myself to get through all of PS1. But it was a massive struggle, and a real drain.

I was also primarily a PS2/PC guy. But I have always cherished a small subsection of Cube titles, including Ikaruga, Skies of Arcadia, and Eternal Darkness. One of my favorite parts of my game collection.

I haven't played most of the Paper Mario games, so I have no dog in this fight. But it is always interesting to read alternate takes, especially when there is no nostalgia involved.
