  1. Those boxes are a thing of beauty. I’ve never owned a single TG16 game complete with the outer box, and I’m in too deep to start collecting them that way now, so I’ll just admire your collection I guess.
  2. I actually got back into PCE/TG16 collecting recently to try to get ahead of the Analogue Duo launch. For starters, with chip shortages and their inability to get the Pocket out on time, I’m not convinced that the Duo will see the light of day within the next year or two. Beyond that, I’m betting the release will spark renewed interest (and increased prices) for games, so I didn’t want to wait any longer knowing that I want to rebuild my childhood collection (and beyond). My current setup is a CoreGrafx with SSDS3 connected to a Retrotink 2xPro via an HD Retrovision component cable, so I’m really not missing much that the Duo offers other than better wireless controller options and direct HDMI output. I’ll still grab one if they ever come out and I can successfully beat the scalpers to buy one at MSRP, mostly just for the longer-term hardware reliability. On a related note, I’d also like to get my hands on a Pocket if the jailbreak opens the PCE/TG16 core. Looks a lot more comfortable to use than a Turbo Express.
  3. Yeah, they were branded as “cordless” on the actual pads, made by NEC/Hudson. Unfortunately, they require a receiver that’s now quite rare and expensive, but it functioned as a wireless multitap for up to five of the cordless pads (if you somehow had that many). They used IR, so line of sight was required between the receiver and gamepad. I’ve seen mixed reviews, so I was curious if anyone on VGS has used them. Edit: Here is a link to a photo - https://necretro.org/Cordless_Multi_Tap_Set
  4. Anyone have experience with the first-party wireless controllers that were released for the PCEngine back in the 90s? Seems like there really aren’t any good modern options for wireless controllers on original PCE/TG16 hardware, so I was curious if the OEM pads are any good.
  5. That upgraded screen on the TurboExpress looks great. How does it impact battery life?
  6. Crazy, the Goodwill from the article where the lady bought the Stadium Events is in my hometown (Charlotte, NC). Thanks for sharing, never read about that before. On a completely unrelated note, I’m suddenly in the mood to hit some local thrift shops this weekend...
  7. As a kid, I was literally the only person I knew that had a TG16 (mid-90s). I had a pretty sweet collection, including an absolutely mint TurboExpress CIB that I bought new via some random mail-order company. Unfortunately, I sold it all about 15 years ago for a few hundred dollars. Of all the stuff I’ve sold off over the years, that has been my biggest regret. I recently started collecting again, and I’m bummed to see how the prices of hardware and games have skyrocketed. I’ve dropped waaaaaaay too much cash trying to replace my childhood collection over the past couple of months. Fortunately, I’ve managed to find some decent deals here and there, but it’s rough trying to find anything that’s not ridiculously overpriced. I’m trying to grab most of what I want now, as I have a feeling that the release of the Analogue Pocket and Duo will create a significant uptick in interest (and prices) for TG16/PCE stuff. Hopefully I’m overestimating the impact of those products, but prices are bad enough as it is, so I’m trying to fast-track my collection to safe.

    FO:

For the wooden NES rack, are the Mario image and Nintendo logo etched into the wood or printed/painted/decal on the surface? Cool piece either way.
  9. Sent you another PM. I know we already completed a sale, but some additional items caught my eye. Thanks!
  10. Do you have any additional photos or details on the TurboGrafx lot? Unless I’m missing something, I just see the one photo of two games and some obscured hardware in the background. Thanks!
  11. Sent you a PM. I’ll take it if it’s still available - not trying to leapfrog the poster above who had first dibs.
  12. Looking for a loose copy in great cosmetic condition that’s tested and confirmed to work. Please PM me if you have a copy that you would consider selling and we can work out a fair price. Thanks!
  13. Very cool lot, good luck with the sale! If you do decide to sell any items individually, I’m in Charlotte and would be interested in a handful of games/accessories.
  14. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the additional context! Let me know of anything noteworthy you see when you check the two games out, and no rush from my side. From your experience, how is the physical quality of the bootleg carts? Do they tend to have the same useful life as normal FC carts, or are they prone to failure? Are they made in Taiwan or elsewhere? Also, is there any risk of them damaging consoles? I assume not, but I’m super ignorant of this type of game. If you have a chance, I’d also be interested in more detailed photos of the two games I mentioned, including the back of the carts. Thanks! 2/7 EDIT: I’m also interested in NES24 Snow Bros if you have any details or additional photos for that one.
  15. Very cool lot of items here. I may be interested in some of the Famicom carts, but I’m not super familiar with the bootleg scene. Are they just unlicensed versions of Japanese release? For example, is B65-Ninja Cats an exact copy of Ninden Teyandee, or are there differences? I’m also interested in B61-Altered Beast if you have any relevant info on that one. Forgive my ignorance here, all of my FC carts are licensed.
  16. Many thanks to those who have already followed up with me. Updated the list and added a few additional games. Please let me know if you have any of these games and want to work out a deal!

  18. Quake 3 Arena Halo (original) Resistance: Fall of Man Unreal Tournament 3 Q3A is definitely my favorite FPS of all time, just so much fun and nonstop action. The original Halo campaign is classic and hits me in the nostalgia feels from all the childhood memories. R:FoM was criminally underrated. UT3 came out at the right time for the mods and custom maps to be incredible, I remember having all of the Q3A maps along with so many crazy user-created maps.
