MiamiSlice | 3,100
Today’s mail call: 2 hunts down. 1. Saw an article about a forgotten DS game and felt like maybe I should nab it before the attention caused the price to go up. Maybe it will, maybe not but I decided to see what I could find and saw this one listing sitting there. Made an offer on it and waited and waited and finally it got accepted without anyone else offering. The case has some wear but it looks like the cover art is not damaged, just a few creases. Might be a good buy, we’ll see. But I wish I had bought this for $9.99 back in the day! 2. I’m pretty sure I’ve been hunting this one for over a year. Each time I find a listing it’s either too damaged or too expensive. Finally I see a listing on eBay with no pictures so I quickly reach out and finally it’s a good one! It’s not mint, there’s some creases on the sides, back and bottom, but it’s pretty good for $25 and I do plan on keeping it sealed Edited January 6, 2021 by MiamiSlice
MiamiSlice | 3,100
Got this local deal yesterday for $50. Seller was asking $55 but when I showed up he said just pay $50 so cool beans. The box is missing the trays which is unfortunate. Also this model of Wii doesn’t support GameCube games. Bleh. But it will be good to bundle with some Wii games I plan to sell. I will keep one Wiimote, one nunchuck, and the 90 Great Games party pack. The rest I will let go. I’m just sad I didn’t get the soundtrack CD in this deal. Pretty sure I still don’t have it in my collection. Oh well! MiamiSlice | 3,100
Late night $55 local pickup: which isn’t much of a deal, but I’ve had a really hard time finding Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble outside of eBay, and at least at this price I’m getting a better deal than just BINning it!
MiamiSlice | 3,100
Mail carrier had me feeling disappointed today because I only got spam but then they circled around again and left me some boxes! Two hauls: 1. Two brand new Star Fox Zero + Guard bundles + Robots for GameCube. $21 shipped. Kind of a dumb haul but I recently sold one of these bundles in worse shape for $12 + shipping so I jumped at the opportunity to bring in a couple more at $6 each. And Robots isn't a game I was ever thinking I needed to own but it's minty and why not? Plus, can you believe it? These were mailed to me like this: ZERO bubble wrap, padding, whatever, plenty of room in the box, and yet somehow! No damage! It makes no sense!!! Meanwhile the Star Fox Zero + Guard I recently sold was one I was keeping sealed in a closet and I accidentally dropped it ONE TIME and the corner that took the fall was totally smashed. ANYWAY. 2. Someone posted what looked like his kid's collection of 3DS / DS / GBA stuff and I asked if I could buy everything. Paid $325 for all this: It's quite a mixed bag. The consoles are all in great shape aside from very minor outer wear, except the DS consoles have like no outer wear at all. A few are missing styluses and the DS Lite has a slot cover but not the right color slot cover. The blue DS is CIB but the box is in terrible shape. There's two CIB GBA games, also with quite a bit of box wear, but I don't really mind that. The DS games that are boxed are in great shape. Then there's only two authentic GBA games (top two) and a bunch of hilarious bootlegs. Console wise it's a 3DS XL, "new" 2DS XL, 3DS, DS Lite and DS. Altogether a good haul for me to work through... I think!
MiamiSlice | 3,100
Another arrival! Paid $120 for all this: but why, you ask? Well, that’s a limited edition Nintendogs DS console, although not in the best shape, but it came with something really important. This: This stupid little thing is an exclusive dogbone screen cleaner which only (AFAIK) came with this console, and I happen to have the console already which was my first DS, with the box and everything still intact, except SOMEHOW years ago this little dogbone accessory disappeared never to be found again and finding a replacement is not easy!!! The case is nice too.

MiamiSlice | 3,100
Forgot to post this haul: $25 for these two guides they are not mint but that Super Mario Odyssey guide I can never find it for less than $35 online. MiamiSlice | 3,100
Might not be the best haul but I picked up these two limited edition 3DS XL’s and a loose NSMB2 for $168 neither has the stylus but I might keep one and try to track down an original stylus since I really like this design
MiamiSlice | 3,100
I said I was going to focus on strategy guides this year and so far so good. Paid ~$58 for these 4 via Mercari: The top two I already had in my collection, also none of these are mint, but it’s a better price than buying these individually!
MiamiSlice | 3,100
Paid $13.65 for this sealed Walmart exclusive FFXIII-2. The seal is in bad shape but... it’s sealed. $51.18 for this set of Wii U games which isn’t much of a deal but decent: And $15.99 for this set of Wii games... if you know, you know...
MiamiSlice | 3,100
Sheesh Finally found someone selling Mario Party 2 in box outside of eBay or Mercari at a fair price. Not a steal and I’ll probably lose a little when I sell it but I can finally say I have every Mario Party game ever made, snap a picture of the set and move on with my life. p.s. the mailing label says “Priority Mail 2-Day”, was dated 8 days ago and came from 1 state away. Truly incredible. Also finally received cart & manual for Kirby’s Block Ball. I had the cart and box with the other inserts for months now, just trying to find a good deal on a manual rather than BINning it and finally found cart + manual for just a little more. Now I’m just 2 away from a complete set of Kirby games on Game Boy. Edited January 13, 2021 by MiamiSlice
MiamiSlice | 3,100
$5 local find! I’ve been looking for this exact bag for two years... I mean I could have nabbed it off eBay for $20 whenever but I really wanted to find a better deal
MiamiSlice | 3,100
I participated in a strategy guide claim sale in a Facebook group where the seller had tons of guides and was doing buy 5 get 1 free. Plus I was able to make offers on some of the guides that didn’t get claimed. So I paid $106 all in for these 12 guides: The Pokemon Snap guide is one I’ve been wanting for a long time and I didn’t even claim it in time but the guy who claimed it let me have it instead. The Viewtiful Joe guide I was also too late and then the seller told me he had a second one. In all my favorite claim sale experience so far and I checked off a few key items from my wantlist!

MiamiSlice | 3,100
I rarely get to do local pickups anymore and there’s usually nothing in my area but Sunday afternoon is the one window I have when I can go for a drive so my youngest will nap in her carseat and pick something up. Today it was this fully complete Zelda Collector’s Edition which believe it or not I never owned before, for $60. I remember when $60 was way too expensive for this not long ago, but nowadays this is getting close to being a $100 game on eBay so I wanted to snap this up while I still could.

Ha ha there’s only like 4 games here that are dupes, most I needed to add. I might be keeping the Wii U as well, I don’t have a backup set and this one doesn’t have much wear. But I do have some cheap games I could let go
MiamiSlice | 3,100
I overpaid for this... was about $24 shipped... but I finally have a misprint Art Academy! Also found a Dora bundle for $20: 4
MiamiSlice | 3,100
Here's a couple hunts: Discovered and immediately bought this trading card variant for $7 and change: Looks to be somewhat obscure! Unfortunately the case for this one has some wear but whatever. Got these two games sealed for $20: In really nice shape, the seal on Harvey Birdman has some wear but otherwise it's great. MiamiSlice | 3,100
Someone posted a huge listing of gaming mags and strategy guides in a Facebook group, I was going to just buy the Oracles guide but then I saw the seller was not far from me and decided to make an offer for a local deal on a bunch of magazines missing from my set... not a steal but I landed 51 issues of Nintendo Power, 49 are new to my collection, for $345 and the guide was $30. I have to check my list later but this brings me very close to a complete set. No Pokemon cards present but there’s plenty of other inserts like Pokemon comics, GameCube memory card stickers and so on. All are in good shape! MiamiSlice | 3,100
Update: unless I missed something in my tracking, I'm only 19 issues away from a complete set of Nintendo Power issues... obviously without some key inserts like an EON ticket and so on but still!
MiamiSlice | 3,100
This haul came in yesterday but I had to wait a while to verify it. Paid $66 for this sealed. Pictured with my brother’s reaction: 6
MiamiSlice | 3,100
Just got this in, came out to $34.12 with tax and shipping, and it also came with a couple posters that are in rough shape: I really just cared about the Pokemon Power set, I think I only had one issue before. Will probably sell off the rest for whatever amount I can get. Also here’s a local haul from today, all for $20: Had never seen these toys before and I checked the one on the right and saw it goes for $35+ on the bay, I look forward to putting it together.
