  1. Best NA deal was traded a Casino Kid II cart that I got Complete and kept the IB from trading in free DVDs to the local gamestore for CIB mega man 64, CIB American Tail, and couple other boxed games back when they were still $20-$30 games. Best in the wild deal would have been an Gottlieb Incredible Hulk pinball machine I picked up for $25 that was said to be non-working. Got it home and plugged it in and it worked perfectly sold it next day for $1k. Best Ebay deal was a complete boxed set of the 7 North American released N64 controllers Extreme Green, Grey, Black, Blue, Yellow, Red, Green for $120. Sadly I sold all of those when I quit collecting and now going to have to pay a premium to get them back.
  2. I've searched and only seen the cats thread so if there is a dogs one already please link it for me. Always having pets I know how much a part they are of the family and we all like to brag about them so with that said I wanted to create a space for us to post the pictures that those around us are tired of seeing. I'll start it off with here are my 4 pups. The wife is all about Disney so the Danes all have Disney names. We have Brandy (Golden mix) whose pushing 8 and a sweetheart, Sebastian who is almost 2 and a sweetheart but also an asshole, Walt who is almost 4 and knows no stranger, doesn't matter if you want to pet him or not he will lean on you to make sure he gets pet and finally Duke Kaboom who is almost 2, we rescued him at 7 months and originally we were told of him about a friend of a friend type situation where there was a divorce happening and they couldn't keep him, but when we went to check him out for a family member who was wanting him when they bought a house, he was in such bad shape that we couldn't leave him behind. Their house deal fell through and by that time we were attached to him and didn't want to put him up for adoption so he joined the crew. When we got him he was severely underweight (40-45 lbs), had sores from being in a too small and crap filled cage all day. Now he's the biggest Dane we have being 170+ lbs and is hyper as all hell
  3. If your doing full wall shelves like that I'd recommend pulling the baseboards off and reattaching them to the front. It would give it more of a built in/custom appearance and you wouldn't have to worry about notching out the back piece
  4. Best way to start out is to come up with idea you want and start designing it. When I built mine I measured every systems boxes/cart to get the height and width to figure out a system that would fit the most into it without having a lot of extra spacing. Before I finally built the one shelf I had 4-5 designs that I scraped until I came up with what I thought would look the best. Another thing is making sure you have or can buy/rent/borrow the correct tools for the job. I built mine with adjustable shelfing and tried doing it with just the drill and in doing so caused some holes to be angled so that the shelves don't sit quite level. If you don't want to go the adjustable route one of the best tools I've used for in building things is a pocket hole jig, it allows for the screws to be put in at an angle on the underside and creates a tighter fit and more secure than taking them into the sides. Also search on pintrest/youtube for different ideas and designs. It may seem like a lot of skills are required to build something but honestly you could build some nice looking shelves with minimal skills & tools by having a detailed design plan and the hardware store cutting your boards.
  5. Here's some older pics of mine. I did a custom shelf and entertainment center but never got around to finishing the space. I designed the shelving out to be adjustable at every inch. This was one of my first times at building something so it didn't come out perfectly.
  6. 1. I would think standard if your sure it hasn't been opened. I don't believe they came sticker sealed but I am not positive on that. Best way to tell is to look at the opening taps and make sure there are no creases that would show its been opened if there are any creases then it would be qualified. 2. I don't know on this. That's something I would ask them about I wouldn't think it would be a problem but am unsure. 3. Only issue I had was my case got damaged in shipping back to me. I contacted VGA and they had me a new return label the same day and I believe I had the console back within a week from shipping it back. The CS was extremely helpful and had both labels done as next day delivery. 4. Clear View is I believe the one that you see the most with the label on top. Ill attach a picture of what I think the classic view is. Its more the style you see on action figures which they do also so I'd guess that's why its an option. 5. I'd say with Covid even if you pay for the quicker tier its still going to be delayed more than the 7-10 days 6. When I did mine it was when that bundle had just came out and there weren't any sales either so I just ballparked it on the higher side. So a new 32x is around $300 so I'd say at least 4-5 times that to be safe. 7. I'm not sure on this I didn't get any of those. I know with the summary is will let you know the problems and why it got the grade it did so if that would be something your interested in then I'd say yes. If you don't care about that then no 8. I'd be more worried about the post office taking forever to deliver or losing in transit than I would be with VGA. They deal with millions of dollars in collectables probably daily and I haven't heard of a lost item from them yet. If you do decide to submit it I would definitely ship through UPS over USPS
  7. Before I sold it I had a graded Mario Maker Wii U bundle and it looked incredible. As the others have stated the bag is there to protect the case and honestly in pictures it may not look good but as for being displayed it's hardly noticed. I had games and the console some with and without the bags and the bag is really not that noticeable. The ones that weren't bagged ended up getting surface scratches on them from shuffling them around and IMO looked worse than being bagged. The only thing I didn't like about the case was that the grade was in the back and didn't look as good to me as it would had it been closer to the front. Here's the only pic I have of it still and the bag was on it
  8. Hey man. I was the one who sold you those glad they got there safely and you enjoyed them.
  9. My main goal for this year is to get my game room set up and in order (just been a storage area for us while we remodeled for the past few years) Side goals are to get my Mario display statue restored. Add at least 3 more CIB handheld systems to the collection. Eventually I'd like to get a sealed set of all the handhelds graded. And finally to stay on budget and not go to quick with collecting. Before I feel like I bought to much and didn't take the time to enjoy the games and it eventually burnt me out on having things just sitting around.
  10. What's up everyone, Been gone for a while now 3-4 years or so and came back to get on NA to realize its went to hell. Luckily when trying to find out why Barbie 3ds was so high I was able to find this place with a lot of the old members. For those that may or may not remember me, my name is Clint I went as cgfeelit on NA as well. I got out of the collecting scene and quit visiting NA and sold most of my stuff of due to having no free time and causing a lack of interest. I have got back into it after being home for so long due to the Covid shutdowns. I really missed the excitement of hunting the deals and discussing the games with everyone and glad I could find this place with you all. If anyone has some pointers on using the site let me know. During my time away I picked up some new hobbies of doing woodworking and remodeling my home, and saltwater aquariums, so if anyone is into those and want to have some discussion just let me know.
