MachineCode 159 Member ·
What do you guys with these very large collections, especially ones with displays like Fleck's Zelda wall, do to keep your games clean and dust free?
DoctorEncore 3,563 Member ·
I collect CIB and keep the boxes in clear PET plastic protectors, so it's not really an issue for me. That being said, for my loose NES carts I try to keep dust covers on everything. I stock up by buying big lots on eBay every now and then. I'm not sure what I would do for other classic cartridge based systems. 1

OptOut 7,872 Member ·
Air pollution in Taiwan makes dust and grime build up a sorry fact of life for me. Essentially, I keep all my loose games in tubs with lids so I can avoid the worst of it. Obviously this makes displaying my games basically impossible, but on the plus side I have an AWESOME tub display, lol!
LeatherRebel5150 889 Member ·
There used to be a guy on Atariage that sold embroidered dust covers for consoles. Other than that if you have a regularly shaped shelving area you could get some plexiglass and make doors to keep dust out

Richardhead 2,169 Member ·
I don’t have a large collection, but this seems to do the trick. Use it 2 times a week and it only takes a few minutes.
Bearcat-Doug 4,283 Member ·
I used to just keep my NES carts on shelves in the walk in closet with the contacts up against the wall. I never had any dust issues that way.

That's how I have my Gameboy carts, accessories and systems that aren't hooked up, not the most aesthetic but very functional. Anything on shelves I try to dust every few months. And I like the handle colors with different storage coding.
