Link | 2,811
As sensible as a career path in traditional sports. 1
a3quit4s | 4,153
If you are talking about being a pro gamer, depending on your age, you should have already been noticed. If you are just talking about working in another capacity around esports; marketing, management, administration, player representation, etc sure that’s all offered at college/university. Most colleges have like clubs and stuff for this but it’s more as a hobby rather than a degree earning program Edited December 23, 2023 by a3quit4s
Tulpa | 3,580
There are a handful of universities that offer degrees and certificates in esports studies. It's pretty new, so no telling which are the best or most viable for a future career. I imagine it's mostly studying marketing and sports representation/management with applications towards gaming sprinkled in. Some of the skills will likely be applicable towards other career pursuits as well.
Hammerfestus | 3,964
I feel like some sort of traditional business degree (or journalism or whatever it is you mean to do) would be better regardless of business content in an esports studies degree because if you fail to get into that industry you really aren’t going to like trying to get to the interview process somewhere else when you have to start by arguing that your degree is basically the same thing as the guy showing up with the MBA that they are looking for. 1
