  1. Oh shit, I didn't realize that there was a club. I don't check the clubs and just post on the main forum. Well, I guess this thread is useless now lol. Anyway, here's the NSF. Remix to Bed.nsf
  2. This isn't an actual game development thread. However, this does relate somewhat to making games. So, I guess it kinda counts for homebrew. I saw that there was a lack of FamiTracker related discussion on the forum. So, I created this thread for musicians to share their work. If you're doing music for a homebrew project or just making a demo tune, feel free to post it here! It doesn't have to be all FamiTracker songs either. I just made it the focus of this thread because that's the program I use the most. I personally have no experience making software for the NES. However, I can write music for it, which is something. To start things off, here's one of my personal favorite songs that I've done using just the stock 2A03 hardware. Remix to Bed.ftm
  3. I got 66/73. These are the games I missed. Donkey Kong Classics Super Team Games Adventures of Lolo (Not published by Nintendo, like mentioned before) Cobra Triangle Dance Aerobics Dr. Mario (I can't believe I forgot this one lol.) Pinbot All in all, not too bad.
  4. Oh, this should be fun. I personally love the black box series quite a bit. Sure, a lot of them don't age the greatest, but there's definitely some great titles in this collection. I find them to be really fascinating just because of how early they are. It's cool to see previous arcade developer Nintendo slowly but surely forming their new identity as a console manufacture. 5. Donkey Kong 3 - My favorite game of the Donkey Kong trilogy. Rather than doing another platformed, Nintendo did something completely different and made a really fun shooter with the Donkey Kong character. 4. Popeye - A pretty faithful port of the arcade game. I personally find Popeye to be more fun than any of the Donkey Kong games. 3. Mario Bros. - The best of the arcade series. Mario Bros. is a really great game and one that I revisit quite often. 2. Balloon Fight - Basically, it's Joust but much more fun to play and with more personality. Plus, Hip Tanaka makes almost any game better. 1. Super Mario Bros. - I kinda wanted to put something above Mario just because it's too obvious, but it's obvious for a reason. Super Mario Bros. is an expertly crafted platformer that hasn't aged a bit since it was first released. And personally, it's the one I go back to the most of the original trilogy. This was a challenging list to put together, as there were many games that I wanted to include (Ice Climber, Excitebike, Hogan's Alley, Kung Fu, Slalom, Pinball) that didn't make the cut. However, I'm pretty satisfied with the five titles I chose. I'd also like to give an honorable mention to Ice Hockey, which is not a black box game but looks a lot like one and is one of the best sports games the NES has to offer.
  5. Gyromite is done. I even managed to beat all of it without getting a game over!
  6. Currently working on finishing Gyromite. I'm about done with game mode A. EDIT: Of course, I got a game over. I'm guessing that using the level select to start back where I was is technically cheating.
  7. Gun-Nac is done. I played the game on novice mode because I didn't want to spend a long time getting stuck on normal mode. You still go through all eight levels, no matter what difficulty you play. Basically, I wanted to actually finish the game. Maybe someday I'll do a run on normal mode.
  8. Yeah, the gold dragon mode skips a few levels. I've gotten pretty close to beating the game with the blue dragon, but that last level is pretty brutal. Maybe I'll finish that one for this site someday. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up. I'll probably practice a bunch more tonight and maybe finish a run of it tomorrow.
  9. Pictionary is done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhgTheCXxtc
  10. I'm trying to finish Gun-Nac right now. Does it matter what difficulty I play the game on? You only get the good ending on expert, but you still go through the whole game no matter what difficulty you play on. Plus, I can't even get past the first stage on expert. If it does matter, then I guess I'll just go for Dragon Spirit instead.
  11. Millipede is done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjwBniPxAu0
  12. I'm hoping that I can participate more this year. I didn't get to play much last year due to school getting in the way. But I'm hoping that I can get a few games completed on the list. I already have some ideas of games that I want to beat.
  13. So, it's been confirmed that 3 screw Soccer doesn't exist? I personally have never seen one, but I remember people debating about if it was real or not.
  14. Nothing super impressive, but I got a couple of boxed games on Saturday that I'm quite happy with.
  15. I'm Joshy or whatever I called myself on the old forum. You can just call me by my real name, Jaden. This is the correct new forum, right? Anyway, I still collect crusty old video games and occasionally play them. My favorite systems are the 3DS, PS2, NES, C64, and Atari 7800. I don't think I need to say anymore.
