Frig I totally missed that this was about video games, not anime!
I really like how in Resident Evil 4 the villagers speak Spanish, makes sense since it takes place in Spain.
While there are no subs nor dubs for the villagers, its kinda fun listening to what they say -

I'm a painfully slow reader. I'll take a poor dub over a quality sub any day. Otherwise, all I'm doing is staring at text and not really watching the film.
I hate this but this has been an issue my whole life and I actually read quite a lot. Regardless, I often have to read stuff 2-3x times to fully comprehend it. If I hear it though, there's a moderate chance I'll remember 10-25% of it (depending on how engaged I am with the content) for many, many decades if not the rest of my life.
I think this is my issue too. I read VERY slowly

If both are available I go with dubs. But I’m totally fine with subs if that’s the only option. I’m just too lazy to read if I don’t have to

The only game I've really done this with is Tetris NES, was shooting for a max out and my best was over 500k don't remember the exact number. I've since taken a long break though

I got one when it was around 400 I sold it for about the same amount. I kinda regret that one. It was a pretty good game. Easy but a lot of fun. Visually stunning as well.
I still have to play it, but yeah it was definitely the visuals that got me interested in it

I really wanted a copy of Harmful Park back when it was like 150. Just never had the fund’s pull the trigger. Now it’s like 800+

Resident Evil 4, got it on sale on the switch e-shop.
I've SEEN a lot of the game, but haven't really had a chance to play the campaign myself. I do remember playing the shit out of mercenaries mode which was really fun. Looking forward to digging in -
I’ve only really played 2 really need to go through the rest.
Robot master - heat man, thought the zippo lighter design was cool
stage - bubble man, just thought the water aesthetic was cool, great song too
song - wood man, I feel like this song isn’t celebrated enough. so good.
weapon - metal blade, duh

Kinda, they're not really mazes though. Just spatial block-pushing puzzles. It's a great game, I'd say top 50. It has a beginner mode that teaches you how to play and gives you hints, which is neat to see in a Game Boy game. Usually they just assume you have a manual. It also sells for hundreds.
But yeah, due to lots of games trying to use "amazing" in the title, this was close enough to being a maze game that they went with it.
Sold! I’m going to give it a play

IIRC, sort of. I think it’s a puzzle slider style game. You have to push stuff around, probably avoid enemies and get from point A to B. These games were quite popular on the GB.
Haven’t played it yet! Just looked up some gameplay and it looks really fun

Is there mazes in the game? That’s pretty funny haha

I liked Mario run for what it is. It’s one of the few that aren’t as money-grubby, I think over time they added more micro transactions and Mario run was a pretty early title from their mobile stuff.
that said I don’t really go back to it all that often and I haven’t completed the game yet

I was a gen 2 guy, so Cyndaquil was my charmander

I wait until midnight, shut out all the lights, and pop in "Play With the Teletubbies" for the PS1. Creepy AF.
You win haha

At this point I value convenience above all else. I don’t want to have 20 consoles all hooked up at once or even rotating in and out. I want to have my setup be as lean as possible.
recently purchased a mister fpga which is great because it’s tiny and covers nearly everything prior to N64. The even have a PS1 core now that I need to mess around with still. I’m also using a wii classic controller so I’m not picky about the controller being correct either.
anything newer I’m still trying to figure out the best solution but most of the time it’s original hardware out of necessity. I’m thinking about hacking my wiiu to cover GC and Wii, and my ps3 to cover ps2. with the games saved to the hard disc.
I just want the setup to be streamlined I’m not picky about what system plays what game. I do want as close to accurate emulation as possible though

I took a long break from the hobby, playing and collecting. But now I’m starting to get the itch to get back into it!
Anyways since it’s the time of year I was thinking the first game I want to play is Resident Evil 4. I have seen a lot of the game but never played it all the way through. I saw it was half price on the switch eshop and wanted to give it a go.
If I beat RE4 in a timely manner I may also do a quick play through of Castlevania on NES, or maybe I’ll play Dead Space for the first time.
What are you all going to play in October?

Hey @8bithustler
I'm interested in your PS3 games. Are you selling them all as a lot? Do you ship to Canada? -

Truth bomb-- those pistachios aren't nuts. They're pitted seeds, like the inside of a peach seed.
Which always made me wonder what the roasted inside of peach seed would taste like...
My entire life is a lie

Just wedge a discarded pistachio shell into the tiny crack and twist.
If they're completely sealed they aren't good anyway.
Never thought of that, great idea!

Pistachio is a top tier ice cream flavor
Just for desserts in general, pistachios are excellent

Probably pistachio if I had to pick
Almonds, Cashews, regular salted peanuts, can't go wrong really.
Anybody else hate when you get those pistachios that don't have a good crack in em, so they're just sealed shut and impossible to open

Favourite can mean so many things.
I think it would be a tie between Mario and Pokémon. It’s hard to explain but they both kind of feel like a home away from home I can escape to.

So sorry to hear that man. Thoughts to you and your family

These little statues from dungeon 3 in the Legend of Zelda are fun. Look at all that personality in the facial expressions
