  1. Hi Everyone! I’m looking for the following boxed NES and SNES games. Must be at least box only, but also open to fully CIB with all inserts. Condition must be Near Mint / 8.5+ (no major damage such as tears, major creases, warping, etc. ). Please PM me with your asking price if you have any of these. I am located in Canada and will require shipping (I would prefer to buy multiple from one seller if possible). References are available upon request. Thanks for looking! 2. A fun game to explore when it first came out. A few annoyances such as getting stung by bees, the weapon downgrading and the “continuing” from the start of the game hindered my progress. Great soundtrack though, and an innovative design. The recommendations to upgrade your weapon early will entice me to try this one again. 6/10
  3. I remember having the same issue. Played it on an overclocked 486 DX 33 and it got real slow in the Death Row level when the security laser beams came into play.
  4. I actually replayed this one about two years ago for the first time in 20 years. I was surprised at how much I disliked it compared to my memories of the game. For me the biggest issue was the uneven difficulty; I can play through Doom, Quake and Shadow Warrior on the second highest difficulty with no problems, but this one seems to ramp up way too high in the first level of each episode. It kind of sucked the fun out of it for me. 7/10. For games using the same engine, I prefer shadow warrior (slightly improved game engine and more even difficulty).
  5. Definitely a favourite of mine. Whenever my brother and I rented a game we always defaulted to either this one or Mario kart if we couldn’t find another good simultaneous 2 player game. Years later we practiced enough and beat it on hard mode, but boy that did take us a long time. Great gameplay, level design, and I love the soundtrack. Easy 10/10 for me personally.
  6. Was the first in the series I ever played, and I played it a lot. Never owned it as a child but seemed we always either rented it or borrowed it from a friend. I remember my brother recording the soundtrack with an old boombox, we liked it that much. A big step from the first in the series; if it wasn’t for this one, there probably wouldn’t be a mega man franchise. 10/10 for me.
  7. So in my games room I have a window that is directly opposite a wall that houses some of my shelves. Unfortunately early in my collecting I didn’t realize the harm of this and some of my games got sunburned/faded (I’ve since upgraded most of these). Since this time I’ve moved my games to a different wall, but I’m running low on space (typical collector issue :)). I’d like to use this wall again and I’ve been looking into something like this: https://www.3mcanada.ca/3M/en_CA/solar-security-films-ca/residential-window-films/uv-protection/ Has anyone tried one of these before with success? Other questions: 1. Does it darken your room at all? 2. Does it block the sun’s heat and therefore make the room colder? 3. Most importantly, does it actually prevent fading? Any advice would be appreciated!
  8. I’ve found over the years that my tastes have changed in collecting. When I first started I bought everything, especially if it was a deal. Over the last couple of years I’ve been much more focused. I went through a large collection cull of what didn’t resonate with me, then I bought games that I actually wanted. I now go through the same exercise every year to ensure what I have I still actually care about. I was never a full set kind of guy, but doing it this way makes me happy. It’s nice to reflect every j note and then so you don’t up with a warehouse full of stuff that you just think is ok. So I guess to answer your question, no real finish line for me.
  9. This sounds similar to the degradation happening with some disc based games (such as disc rot). When I first heard about it, it reminded me of the big box dos games I collect. I have no idea if any of those 3 1/2 or 5 1/4 disks work, nor do I care. I bought them to have them on the shelf and for all the cool extras they came with years ago. I just play the actual games in dosbox. Not the original hardware, but it’s a price I’m willing to pay instead of spending my time tinkering with 40 year old pc hardware. In comparison, I think we’ve been very lucky in the console scene overall. Most of the original hardware still works with little repair (in general), same with the games.
  10. Following this as well. I have two boxes of 5 1/4 from my childhood that I’d be interested in backing up (assuming they still work). Every few years I check for a USB option however they never seem to appear.
  11. Just looked this up thinking this was a real game and saw the rant. What a great read lol absolute gold. Hopefully that guy solved his anger issues though.
  12. Here’s another few. Again let me know if there are any issues. Question: Is there any difference between the black sleeves (I.e. flat black vs smooth black)? Also are there example pics of the difference between the standard and foil Nintendo sleeves? I have tons of these but have never noticed a difference.
  13. Hey folks! I’ve been around here and NA for a few years but mainly in the marketplace. I’ve been using Wiz’s guide for a while now, especially in the past year as I’ve concentrated on completing my boxed games. Thanks Wiz for your work on the guide, I really appreciate it! It’s nice to meet all of you like-minded people! Here’s a pic of my complete Abadox as per the guide. Box isn’t perfect on this one but it’s all there. Let me know if this is the kind of thing you’re looking for and I’ll go through the rest of my games as well.
  14. Agreed, comparing any Paper Mario game to Mario RPG will only result in a total letdown. Mario RPG was my first foray into this series and I've had to temper my expectations ever since. That being said, there are still a lot of other great games in this series.
  15. A very positive transaction! Bought some NES/N64 games and an SNES accessory. Everything was packed well and came in great condition. Top notch communication. Looking forward to more business in the future. Thanks again!
  16. ebay profile: https://www.ebay.ca/fdbk/feedback_profile/sydpinkfloyd Thanks everyone in advance!
  17. I open every game both to clean it and to make sure it’s legit. This is regardless if I’m keeping it for my collection or reselling it, as I’d hate to pass on a repro to someone else without them knowing it.
  18. I have a 5 screw version but haven’t played it enough to get to Death. I’m glad you brought this up so I won’t be as upset if this game does glitch up on me! When I play through this I’ll try to remember to report back my results.
  19. A little late to the Breath of The Wild craze but that’s what we’re going through now. A great game thus far! The shrines are a lot of fun and break up the exploring/action with some nice puzzle elements.
