  1. Into the Groove isn't bad, but I'm not a huge madonna fan, aside from Vogue, easy top 10 for dance pop in the 80's. Decidedly not a gaga fan, 3/10 for her.
  2. I haven't played multi in forever, but I beat the single again 10 years ago and it was fun. Didn't understand why wizpig 1 was way harder than wizpig 2. The game overall is really great, definitely best kart racer on N64 that I know of (haven't played mickey speedway but otherwise I think I played all the racers). Very good soundtrack, timeless really. Characters made me wish that more of them had their own games. TT is a bastard. All that said, CTR is still best kart racer. Or maybe Sega All-Stars Transformed. I give 7/10
  3. I would think some of the games that came in extra large boxes or that had accessories built in might qualify. So too might games with nice cases, though they sort of covered that category already. For me, two that stick out as unique are Ide Yousuke no Mahjong, and Lagrange Point.
  4. If I were to compare it to anything, I'd say is Super Mario Kart is like Smash Bros 64, then CTR is like Melee and MK64 is like Brawl. Not sure how to classify DKR in that mix. I'd say DKR feels tighter but CTR is more intense and demanding. 100% clear is demanding yet fun.
  5. Glad somebody took the DMG right quick, All last year I couldn't give the thing away!
  6. Top level sonic for me. Exploration is something I've long wanted to see in sonic games, largely because CD did it. Late stages get annoying for perfect clears but that's because it demands some memorization of optimal paths, which is not rare for sonic but stands out since you HAVE to do it to get the best ending, and you don't really get any do-overs due to low numbers of PAST gates. This keeps it very much a sega arcade style game, forcing practice and performance, and not everybody is looking for that especially in a sonic game. That said, it brings something no other Sonic brings, and it makes it very interesting. Also, it has a top 10 best game soundtrack of all time, ignoring the trashtacular US version of course (though Sonic Boom is less weird than Toot Toot Sonic Warrior). I give 8/10. BRB gonna jam out to Collision Chaos Good Future. If I were to offer a critique, it's that the level design is a bit weird if you are expecting a linear game. I tend to think people are playing it wrong when they say so however, because it's an exploration game first, and that confuses people given it's the only sonic game like it. Zelda 2 effect more or less. Oh, and some stages are just annoying to get to the past. That's part of the point though; You have to try to get the best ending, and that includes repetitive practicing, though nobody who likes MD Sonic should really be bothered by that given its part of the series (Sonic 1 has various "one chance only" jumps, and memorizing special stages is practically required for later emeralds in 2). It's something that comes up often enough in CD to be potentially irritating. Moot point when CTR blows everyone out of the water. DKR is the best runner-up I've played, though Mickey Speedway is an unknown still (I know its rareware but I've never played it).
  7. It's fine until you realize the first 50 stages are the practice round. Don't think I could get any further than 150 or 170 before giving in. Someone with a mastery of visualizing transposes should have an easy time of it.
  8. @the_wizard_666 Thanks for clarification. Mentioning Brain Bender gave me PTSD because I thought at first you were talking about Brain Drain. Actual photo of me remembering that game:
  9. What are the requirement for Sensible Soccer? Don't know this game, but looking at interface I see friendlies, plus a Cup mode and a League mode. Cup has you do up to 4 rounds, up to 2 legs (matches with the same team?) per round, and has most of them computer-decided, minus the ones you play. Win out in all 4 rounds and you win, presumably. League is you picking up to 7 teams, playing each team up to 4 times each, and whomever has the most points at the end of the league is presumably the winner. So you could argue it takes as little as 1 match to "beat" sensible, and as many as 24 matches. Curious what the threshold should be.
  10. I was of a similar mind until a friend shared Rollin' Rascal with me. Seems to achieve exactly what is missing to me for a 3D Sonic game. It is full of crazy speed, but it's all earned, not just flashy gimmicks as per usual in 3D sonic games. Might consider a look.
  11. Box shipped out this morning. Hope it is ok on arrival!
  12. Fun fact: That song was nominated both an Oscar and for a Razzie. For me the band deserves the second for sure XP But I tend to like art rock people more, so its unsurprising. Speaking of, I didn't mention I've seen Rundgren a couple times. He's fun, you never know what he'll play. I wish I could have seen him when he was younger though; At 75 he's starting to slow down.
  13. Good idea. Zeldafan got back to me quickly, and it's not gonna affect turnaround, but if everyone knew then it would save everybody time.
  14. Saw Steve Vai in Columbus and he didn't turn the sound down at all even though it was a garage with maybe 60 people in it. Even with earplugs I was still smarting a bit. Otherwise, not many. Fell asleep at an Aerosmith concert once.
  15. Shipping info Request has been sent to next recipient.
  16. Goods Acquired. I will prepare to send the box on Monday. Here are my spoils. My nephew will love the zelda arm sleeve and mario coins. The rest is for me I apologize to the next recipient; Box is still super full! There is also this stuff, it couldn't fit. PM me if interested. PSX is SCPH-1001 and laser works fine.
  17. I have nothing against this game personally, just not a huge fan of run and gun games.
  18. Damn, I hope the box is not too full when it arrives. I have a bundle to pack in already.
  19. Adding to not enough, the Ouendan series was brilliant and only got three games.
  20. That's a good point, I was surprised Nintendo never made a wii game. The VC version even simulated the decoder paper. Maybe they were testing the waters (heh) and were disappointed by results, or didn't want a sequel to a game unreleased in Japan. IIRC wasn't the protagonist of Captain Rainbow essentially a version of Mike Jones?
  21. Oh i see, I didn't know it was the name of a band. Thanks for the clarification.
  22. I have thought about this for a long time. I am convinced that activision intentionally pushed out as many GH games as possible, in a purposeful effort to crush the market through fatigue. They do this with everything they have that makes money, because they have no concept of long-term brand power, but in this case, I argue it was explicitly done as punishment for Harmonix when they dared defy them by making a "full band" game (and not with activision) and didn't just resign themselves to making guitar games for all eternity. We saw with the Modern Warfare people that Activision has no love for anyone challenging their authority, even if they end up making them huge money. To me, activision has one purpose; Run studios like they're assembly lines and punish anyone who defies them. Given this view, it should be no surprise what all has happened at blizzard over the years, nor any surprise why activision's popular game series all have the same crash and burn life cycle. They can't see a popular property as anything besides a cow to milk and a dead horse to beat. CoD is a special case it seems, because people like the MP enough that they will pay what amounts to a yearly renewal fee to keep playing it. Otherwise, it seems to keep happening, and I think its intentional. Generally I blame Bobby Kotick, who is probably up there with Ray Kassar for history's worst gaming execs.
  23. Whoa whoa, what's with putting Blood on the Dance Floor as the bottom-tier response? Anyway, I really like the clash album "Sandinista!" but I don't listen much otherwise. Of these two I'd honestly rather hear "Police on my Back" or "Washington Bullets" or "Career Opportunities". All that said, Rock the Casbah is a fun listen when it comes on the radio.
  24. My bad, I found the message I wrote on Tuesday and it still was sitting unsent. Fixed now.
