  1. I find this almost unreal. this buyer won this back on August 18, 2019 GoldenEye 007 (NES, Nintendo, USA, 1998) Wata 9.6 A++ (Seal Rating).... Auction 121933 | Lot: 15250 | Aug 18, 2019 Sold For: $384.00 and look at the offers he has received (to sell) for it to date: Offers to date:$25,000 on March 15, 2021$3,500 on February 12, 2021$2,500 on February 12, 2021$1,500 on February 4, 2021 Keep in mind, that this is a players choice version too! Just shows the craziness happening right now.
  2. Some insane prices are currently rolling in from today's auction, which is still on going. Complete udder madness with these prices! Here are just a few examples below. Nes The Little Mermaid for $5040 Nes Monopoly for $3,840 Nes Rampage (later seal) for $3,600 Nes Karnov for $28,800 Nes Kung Fu (later print) $5,160 Nes Adventure Island for $16,800 Nes Back to the Future for $4680 Nes Jackal for $1980 Nes CIB 1942 for $1680 Nes Commando for $15,600 Nes Excitebike (later print) $9,600 Nes Tetris $3,720 Nes Rad Racer (later seal) $5,760 Nes Tyson's Punchout CIB 7.5 (early print) $2,040
  3. I have to agree with your views about this subject and think you hit the mark on many points.
  4. Nice! I love watching your videos! Keep up the great work.
  5. Here we go! I am sure some more main stream publications and Youtubers will be talking about this within the next few days! https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/03/business/super-mario-bros-nintendo-auction.html https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2021/04/02/this-1986-super-marios-bros-game-just-broke-the-record-for-most-expensive-ever-sold/? sh=7b216071cca0https://www.ign.com/articles/super-mario-bros-record-auction-sale-nintendo-sealedhttps://www.cnet.com/news/super- mario-bros-auction-breaks-record-with-660k-sale/ https://www.theverge.com/2021/4/2/22364245/super-mario-bros-most-expensive-game-ever-record-sealed-auction https://gamerant.com/super-mario-bros-sealed-copy-new-auction-record/ https://www.5newsonline.com/article/news/nation-world/super-mario-bros-game-660000-sale/507-a629e61e-1197-4454-9ff5-d1eb8179673b https://lovebylife.com/the-unique-version-of-the-super-mario-bros-breaks-records-at-auction/ https://exbulletin.com/tech/831462/ https://www.whuffnews.com/super-mario-bros-sealed-copy-breaks-auction-record-becomes-most-valuable-game-collectible-ever-ign/ https://newsweek365.com/2021/04/02/super-mario-bros-sealed-copy-breaks-auction-record-becomes-most-valuable-game-collectible-ever/
  6. yes very true, but a 9.0 Tyson's (later print) going for $25,000, a 9.0 super Mario Bros 2 black seal going for $40,000, a 9.0 super Mario 3 going for $19,000, a 9.0 turtles 1 going for $10,000, an 8.5 n64 Mario kart going for $35,000. so, it isn't just everything in 9.8 grades going nuts right now.
  7. I had quite a few games on my saved my ebay dashboard, that sold or that the buyer ended. mostly super Mario Bros, Zeldas, etc. a sealed super Mario Bros white sealed wata 8.5 sold for $22,000, a SNES Mario kart wata 8.5 sold for $15,000, a wata 9.4 CIB nes super Mario black seal (seller wanted $9,000) was ended early, quite a few gameboy wata Pokemon games were ended early by seller, a Nes wata 9.2 final fantasy (seller wanted $10,000) was ended early, that above mentioned vga Tyson sold for $38,500 and I can literally go on and on with more, but here are just some examples of the fallout from today's HA sales.
  8. Some collectors/people will now try and Frankenstein games together to get a nice Wata CIB score and sell it for a premium price.
  9. I am noticing games selling like crazy now on ebay, seller's raising their prices on their current listings or listings ending early now, because of this latest madness Heritage Auction.
  10. I am sure they are about to see more games than ever now, after what just happened at today's HA auctions!
  11. I would say that video game collecting has now entered the same stratosphere (or about to, with rising prices almost every day) as coins, comics, cards and has surpassed action figures already! I am still awestruck by what just happened and is happening at the moment! Some people's collections just went from being worth hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars, thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars and dare I say, hundreds of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars!!
  12. I thought the same thing! That $38,500 was an absolute steal!!
  13. Wow!!! Unreal prices for almost everything! Genesis Madden for $50,000! Genesis Sonic 2 for $22,000! Nes Tecmo bowl for $14,400! Nes black seal Mario 2 $39,200! And of course the Tyson's, Super Mario Bros, and everything else breaking records every where for everything! it is safe to say that we are officially in unchartered waters with this hobby/market! I still can't believe what just happened! Boom! Get ready for the media and articles talking about this.
  14. Wata 9.2 White seal Mike Tyson's Punchout for $36,000! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mike-Tyson-039-s-Punch-Out-NES-1987-Factory-Sealed-A-WATA-9-2-Grail-/224396675165?epid=56209434&hash=item343f15885d%3Ag%3AzggAAOSwRXFfc-Bh&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  15. Wow! $75,000 for a raw copy of this!! In a couple of months (after it gets graded), it will sell for over $100,000!
  16. Totally agree with you here! This is probably where a lot of the money is coming from! It is about to reach another level for sure though, when these Heritage Auctions end! I don't know if that is good or bad for the average collector and the hobby as a whole?!
  17. These current prices are unreal and unprecedented already, so who knows what the final prices are going to be, but they already are breaking records! if you are looking to buy any nice copy in any form of these games(sealed, graded, cib, cartridge, etc) I would recommend buying them before the auctions end, because with all the hoopla these record breaking sales are going to bring to the hobby, prices for (probably) everything will go up!
  18. I am not so sure things will shift back, because this trend/prices rising in prices (mario, sonic, popular games), etc) in collecting started before covid when the comic book collectors and 'investors' started to enter the hobby, but we will see. i certainly respect your opinion and thoughts though.
  19. It is pretty clear to see that new collectors in this hobby are after/desire games like Mario, Zelda, Castlevania, Black Box Games, Sonic, Pokemon, Disney, Marvel games, popular fighting games (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, even sports games) and not the games that used to be desired like Color a dinosaur, Gun Nac, etc. If you have those main character games/famous titles sealed or in good CIB condition, you have a gold mine in today's market! Basically, the items of desirability have done a 180 turn, maybe even a 360 turn from the 'old days'. Recent sales and the sales currently going on at Heritage pretty much prove this shift is the market.
  20. I am kind of like you and holding off selling on a few of my premium items too prematurely. I can't wait to see where all the games being auctioned off on Heritage right now ended up at. Those sales are going to bring even more people and exposure to the hobby. If the auctions continue to end with unreal prices being realized, I might have to send some of my stuff to Wata, crossover some of my VGA games with them and send them off to Heritage Auctions.
  21. This raw sealed Nes Karate Kid ended at $4252! Wow, I guess Cobra Kai has helped bring this title to a new level! Beautiful game/artwork on this one though!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Karate-Kid-Nintendo-NES-1987-Brand-New-SEALED-/224372959167?epid=56210384&hash=item343daba7bf%3Ag%3A79MAAOSwtmVgQA11&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  22. yep! me too! it has only just begun with these prices! here we go!
  23. A Super Mario Bros (Black Seal) WATA 9.6 currently being sold on Heritage Auctions is already up to $210,000 (without the buyer's premium added) with 21 days left!! So, basically it is has already broken the Super Mario 3 record set last month with 21 days to go! Any guesses, where this ends up at!? In April (when the auction ends), get ready for another round of news reports of a record setting sale of a video game, even more people coming into the hobby and prices going up even higher across the board. Dare I say, buy now, while prices are still 'reasonable'! https://comics.ha.com/itm/video-games/nintendo/super-mario-bros-wata-96-a-sealed-hangtab-1-code-mid-production-nes-nintendo-1985-usa/a/7242-93028.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-ThisAuction-120115
