  1. Very well said and informative!! Thanks.
  2. Yep, you were right about that. my apologies to you for that. i accidentally put the same link for the first two links i posted. i went back and put in the right link now, so it has been update. Once again, sorry for any confusion:). here is another non-rev A that sold for $799 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-NES-Gotcha-The-Sport-Game-BOX-ONLY-Mint-Vintage-Rare-/224324224174?hash=item343ac404ae%3Ag%3ADOoAAOSwK7FgChLX&nma=true&si=AFE28odtOjHeYSejMOkVwsZpUsA%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  3. It all good! I apologize for any confusion. I hate being combative and always try to treat people in life/on the internet with the utmost respect, so I am sorry if i said something to offend you.
  4. Sigh.....ok, you win! I will never see another Non Rev A Gotcha in my life!!
  5. Thanks, you totally understand my point!
  6. well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to surmise that was clearly what he was referencing to.
  7. I understand what you are saying, but I was told that I would never see another one of these Non Rev A copies 'in my lifetime', so I just listed/found 4 Non Rev A Gotcha boxes that sold in the last 2 months and 1 more that is being currently auctioned off, so I just am responding to that incorrect (once in a life time statement) information being told to me.
  8. I just checked the links I posted and not one is a duplicate. please check them out again.
  9. well, I don't know about that. it might be rare, but obviously not once in a lifetime rare, so I guess, I am not too confused. here is non rev A sealed that sold on January 30th for $2380 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gotcha-Nintendo-Factory-Sealed-NES-No-Rev-A-First-Print-NES-1987-Nintendo-/274657401047?epid=56232262&hash=item3ff2db58d7%3Ag%3ANUcAAOSwLitgDGEv&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 here is a non rev A box that sold January 26th for $61 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-NES-Gotcha-The-Sport-Game-BOX-ONLY-Mint-Vintage-Rare-/224324224174?hash=item343ac404ae%3Ag%3ADOoAAOSwK7FgChLX&nma=true&si=AFE28odtOjHeYSejMOkVwsZpUsA%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 here is a very nice non rev A CIB that sold on February 9th for $50 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gotcha-The-Sport-Nintendo-NES-No-Rev-A-First-Print-Complete-In-Box-/154218020763?epid=56232262&hash=item23e81c3f9b%3Ag%3AbJAAAOSwRHhfUXrw&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 here is yet another non rev A CIB that sold December 15th also for $50 https://www.ebay.com/itm/GOTCHA-THE-SPORT-Nintendo-NES-1985-CIB-Vintage-Video-Game-/114553223417?epid=1100432479&hash=item1aabe778f9%3Ag%3AsP0AAOSwT3hfxz2g&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 here is one currently for sale. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gotcha-Nintendo-NES-1987-Rare-Sealed-Non-Rev-A-5-Screw-Version/203297668786?epid=56232262&hash=item2f557c3eb2:g:kVQAAOSwfmBgQ4zr
  10. Very well spoken! I really enjoyed reading about your story and perspective of the hobby.
  11. This may have been posted on here already, but if not, this is a really great read! https://www.antiquetrader.com/collectibles/collecting-video-games
  12. That is awesome that your nephew collects for the NES, but sad, that he is priced out of the games that he is after.
  13. I still can't believe the prices that games/systems (raw, graded, sealed, CIB, just the box, just the cartridge from every system across the board) are selling for and worth these days! It is just mind boggling, every time I check sold prices on Ebay, hear of a big private sale or see Heritage Auction prices for video games. Just like with sports cards, it seems like prices for just about everything in any type of condition is going up (with an obvious premium on graded, rare, mint condition, Mario games, Pokemon games, Superhero games, Retro Movie Games, etc) in value with each passing day. I started collecting before the hobby even had a grading company and now we are about to get our 4th grading company in the hobby! Netflix released a documentary on gaming a few months ago. There is a wikipedia page called 'Game Collecting' now. There are main stream media outlets and publications talking about game collecting and the record prices games are selling for. The hobby has the backing of the biggest auction house in America (WATA or raw) , Heritage Auctions selling games. I even have friends/family asking me about collecting/investing in video games now! (The hobby will reach another level (if possible), when we get our first famous person in the hobby, like a Logan Paul or Gary Vee, etc in sports cards) For the the old time collectors (NIntendoage), can you imagine if DOV had found that stash of sealed games in today's market? I wonder how much more money he would have made grading and selling in today's BULL market?! If, I started collecting at today's prices, I wouldn't even be able to buy 5% of my collection at the current prices things are selling for, so I do feel really bad for the people that 'missed the boat' and are just starting to get into the hobby right now. Now, can it all come crashing down, of course it can! Absolutely! Do I personally think it will? No! The video game industry is just too big these days and the hobby is getting more and more mainstream with each passing day, hence the enormous prices games are selling for these days. Way more demand, than supply now! In summary, it is a very exciting time to be a collector and I actually think we are just in the beginning and the hobby will continue to really grow, so much so, that we may look back at these prices today (a few years from now) and think they were actually a 'good deal'!!
  14. Very happy to help and I love what you are doing here with your survey/transparency/taking questions. I can also tell that you are a very respectable/smart person by your patience and kind replies to everyone's questions. Good luck with this endeavor and I can positively say, that I will feel pretty safe/confident submitting some of my games to your company in the future based on the information you are telling us. Thanks for bringing even more attention to the hobby and choices for us collectors to make when/if we want to have something graded!
  15. Ah! I see now! Thanks for finding out the actual price, but isn't that still $4,600 more than it should be?! But then again, we live in different times now and it is worth what it sold for!!
  16. I know this is the slightly rarer Non Rev Gotcha version VGA 85, but it sold for $15,000!! Someone please explain to me why!? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gotcha-NES-Nintendo-New-Factory-Sealed-VGA-85-Non-rev-A-Early-Print-/324477685549?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc
  17. Wow! Jonebone hit this one on the head (under-priced, quick sale)! Respect to the master!!
  18. I noticed in the past couple of days after that $36,000 sale of the VGA 85 Nes Action Set sale, there seems to be more people buying up graded (and ungraded consoles). Does anyone on here collect sealed systems? Do you think they will continue to spike in price? Those prices below seem like bargins, compared to that action set price. Another thing I am wondering about, is what do you guys think of the collectibility of the Playstation 2 (#1 all-time best selling console) and Playstation 3m (#7 all-time best selling console)? I guess, most of the generation that grew up on those 2 consoles are still quite young, but in 15 to 20 years, they will start having disposable income and nostalgia for the games/systems they played when they were younger and want to buy/collect for that ERA. Right now, PS2 and PS3 (games & sealed consoles) are both still pretty cheap to buy, compared to the older systems (Nes, N64, Sega Genesis, Gameboy, PlayStation 1, etc). Is it time to collect sealed consoles and games (sealed and non-sealed) for the systems I mentioned above?! Maybe some of you guys are already into buying for these systems. 19. Thanks everyone for all your posts regarding the card market explosion and thank you so much to BriGuy82 for posting about Jack of All Trades. That was an awesome watch. I guess, we can change this topic (lol) to "The video game market has exploded!" I am seeing systems and games for all platforms going for unreal prices (I know it has been going on for awhile already and there is already a thread for this topic) in the last couple of weeks! Not quite like cards (YET!) but prices for almost everything has gone up! Here are some examples below! $36,655 for a VGA 85 Nes Action Set https://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-NINTENDO-NES-ENTERTAINMENT-SYSTEM-ACTION-SET-FACTORY-SEALED-VGA-85-/363283946680?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&fbclid=IwAR1HYpTUwF2GvAnoEuqOfdf9BNxnAd9VWaJl84JiYFePBomL10FM2DMw-gg $27,340.96 for Raw Sealed Snes Chrono Trigger https://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Nintendo-SNES-Chrono-Trigger-/383938787774?hash=item596488f9be%3Ag%3AkCUAAOSwrnhgHbOK&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 $2,475 for Raw Sealed Sega Genesis Fantasia (Wow) https://www.ebay.com/itm/FACTORY-SEALED-Sega-Genesis-Disney-Fantasia/284151535980?hash=item4228c0596c:g:YJMAAOSw4ZZgBO2D $5,000 for a Vga 85 Nes Ghostbusters https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ghostbusters-Nes-Sealed-H-Seam-Nintendo-WATA-VGA-Graded-85-Silver/254847559465?hash=item3b56192729:g:X-EAAOSw4XRgELZV And I can literally go on and on and on with more sales. I will say all the Mario games (of course) are on fire right now!
  20. Very informative and well said. VegasDave thinks the bubble will burst. I really don't know what to think at this point. Just crazy times!
  21. Everything you said is 100% on the money! I agree with you that modern cards have been super hot (during covid pandemic)and they get bought up at the Walmarts, Targets, etc., as soon as they are put-on the shelf. They quickly get listed on Ebay and people buy them for triple the price, but the vintage (key rookie cards, 1986 fleer Jordan, Barkley, Olajuwan, etc are through the roof right now.) Heck, even a high grade 3rd year Jordan fleer is going for thousands of dollars right now! I am not joking when I say that Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, Bird, Magic, Brady and the list goes on and on of other cards that are literally going up in price by thousands of dollars by the day! Even a PSA 1 Jordan fleer rookie card is selling for around $5,000 right now. I will say it again, one year ago, you could have bought a PSA 10 Jordan rookie all day for around $35,000 and 2 of them just sold for $738,000! I have never seen a feeding frenzy in any collectible hobby come close to what is happening in sports card collecting at the moment! Will it last? Can it last? I don't know, but it has been crazy for a few months now and as I am writing this, cards keep breaking new selling records every day!
  22. Here are just a few examples of what I am talking about and the even bigger sales are happening on auction houses. Basically cards are gold right now. if you look at the dates of these sales, almost all of of them are happening right now and they continue to go up in price with literally each passing day/auction, because I have been following the sales lately. An Anthony Davis card sold at Goldin auctions 5 days ago for over a million dollars. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Topps-Chrome-Refractor-LeBron-James-ROOKIE-RC-111-BGS-10-PRISTINE-/402602109294?hash=item5dbcf4a96e%3Ag%3AZ~0AAOSw~kFf0-4s&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-Topps-Chrome-Xfractor-LeBron-James-ROOKIE-RC-220-111-PSA-9-MINT-/143924479136?hash=item21829144a0%3Ag%3AE8gAAOSw8BpgCdFK&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-Topps-Chrome-Refractor-Kobe-Bryant-ROOKIE-RC-138-PSA-10-GEM-MINT/224334544542?hash=item343b617e9e:g:sF4AAOSw7ctgFn-K https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Fleer-Basketball-Michael-Jordan-ROOKIE-RC-57-BGS-9-5-GEM-MINT/224191757810?hash=item3432debdf2:g:avYAAOSwoWBgDGqp https://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-Topps-Football-Joe-Montana-ROOKIE-RC-216-PSA-10-GEM-MINT-PWCC-A-/224328586755?hash=item343b069603%3Ag%3ANegAAOSw8BpgD2b0&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Topps-Larry-Bird-Magic-Johnson-RC-Rookie-Julius-Erving-HOF-PSA-9-MBA-GOLD/373320241454?hash=item56eb9ed12e:g:qDgAAOSw~apfpEss https://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Playoff-Contenders-Tom-Brady-ROOKIE-RC-AUTO-144-PSA-10-GEM-MINT-/143919299871?hash=item2182423d1f%3Ag%3Ao8EAAOSwS0JgAjkP&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-National-Treasures-Green-Patrick-Mahomes-II-ROOKIE-RC-PATCH-AUTO-15-PSA-9-/402647485655?hash=item5dbfa90cd7%3Ag%3AJXYAAOSw0IhgAkKD&nma=true&si=mdOX%2BnMVPOWLIXF1d8vkNA2fV34%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
