  1. Wait, are you talking Christmas Vacation? I mean the original Vacation. Where they travel to the Disneyland stand-in in the Truckster. As Reed said, that song is constantly played. It's also the opening credits song.
  2. You've never seen National Lampoon's Vacation? Remedy that now. Like, before you even take your next breath.
  3. https://apnews.com/article/ron-desantis-250c8ed4b49843350e258f0c2754c8ba DeSantis calls it quits. Be interesting to see if Haley can siphon off votes from Trump.
  4. If that's the case, buy the replacement pieces and cannibalize their pads for use on the originals.
  5. In my case the rubber itself wore out. I tried a silicone fix, but that only lasted a couple of weeks. New pads or find a dead controller with good pads were my two choices. And as I stated, get the right ones and they work just fine. Heck, buy like two or three packs for every controller you regularly use and you're set for the rest of your life.
  6. There really wasn't. From a technical standpoint, Blu-ray was superior in many aspects, but that wasn't what won the format war. Sony, determined not to have another Betamax, rallied most of the studios around Blu-ray, and the PS3 was the cheapest player, which helped spread the appeal (similar to how the PS2 helped DVD.) HD-DVD had some support (most notably Paramount), but the tide turned against it. Weirdly, some of the best players for standard DVDs were HD-DVD players, and for a short time after the war ended they traded for way over their original MSRP by DVD enthusiasts. I tried for a long time to get an Onkyo HD-DVD player solely for DVD use, but they were going for stupid money and I eventually gave up.
  7. No. Never. Mortoff pads are like 1-to-1 replacements for the originals. I don't know what pads the people you heard that other stuff from were using, but I've never experienced anything other than what I meant to hit.
  8. You should have seen the HD-DVD vs Blu-ray arguments. It got so heated it actually resulted in that part of the forum getting shut down and even made a few news outlets.
  9. If anything, I now know who all to put on my shitlisttm.
  10. *snob voice* It's a spear gun, not necessarily for use against people. Plus, Batman fuckin' tosses Joker clean off the tower at the end. Like, no accidental slipping or anything. Just hauls off and makes the Clown Prince of Crime into street pizza. I mean ... damn.
  11. Man, I thought I left the vinyl vs digital debate behind when the AV forum I was on imploded. *waiting for the Monster vs Blue Jeans cable debate to resurface*
  12. I can't remember who recommended Mortoff to me. Someone on NA. Mortoff also had the only spec correct controller screws that I could find.
  13. His cover of Play that Funky Music hit #4. Ninja Rap didn't chart.
  14. It's not bad. The large hitbox on Surfer's sprite takes some getting used to, and a couple of spots are a bit unfair where death comes out of nowhere, but that's not that atypical of NES games. The graphics are cool, it has humor, and the soundtrack is rockin'.
  15. I also have some pads from Mortoff. They look just like OEM pads and really don't feel different. They were also like a few bucks for a set for two controllers. My old ones were worn out, so they definitely needed replacements.
  16. Yeah, it's fun if you can laugh at the ridiculousness of that game together as a team. Solo it's just a slog, IMO. I did like that they tried to at least pay lip service to the characters' different abilities. Like Nightcrawler's teleport (read: disappear and reappear a few inches away) and Storm's flying (read: move really fast a few inches.)
  17. I don't doubt it, but it's weird hearing pop and whatnot (like MJ's stuff) talk about "the streets" compared to what came along a few years later.
  18. It's fun, but it's also hilarious to hear some of these songs in hindsight after gangsta rap hit and listen to Ice talking about guns and stuff.
  19. Doesn't seem to have one, or at least no one has found one. http://www.thealmightyguru.com/Wiki/index.php?title=List_of_NES_games_without_a_clear_ending
