Hey @ExplodedHamsterdo you still have that grey nwc? Is it graded?

Yes, and the video appears to have left out that Dain never actually took that role with WATA and the SEC filing Karl cited was later amended to reflect that. It’s right in the post you quoted above where you suggested he should have kept his mouth shut. I believe the amended filings were found and discussed on NA in threads right after the sale in 2019, but somehow Karl missed that and broadcasted out bad information.
As for the games, they were graded after Jeff bought them, at least by WATA. I think most were VGA beforehand?
Yeah and in the quote where I told him to "shut his mouth" he vaguely said this is just a case of misunderstood timelines. So maybe if he's feeling chirpy he could clear that up for everybody.

So he never took the role, but his name was on one of the SEC filings with a title given to him by the company. So I think what might be important information is did he supply wata with any games to be graded during his time as an executive director at wata?

Here no, but the video paints him that way.
The video said that the SEC filing had him as an executive director of wata. Were his games graded at that time? If not, who gave them their initial supply of games to grade?

I've known Bronty a LONG time. He's given me some bro deals in the past, mostly for the NES Sealed Contents List, so I know he's not afraid to take less now for long term gains. I wouldn't be surprised if he's decided now's the time to cash out, in which case exposure is in his best interest. That said, what I don't see him doing is intentional market manipulation to essentially rip people off.
Speaking of the contents list though...I'm kinda wanting to get hold of one of the "Carolina Collection" slabs just so I can film myself busting it open and posting it on YouTube. The VGA Gun*Nac was the last one I did that with, and that was ages ago...I still had fucking hair ffs Maybe I should start a GoFundMe
I saw that video. You sniffed the game when you opened the box.

It's never mentioned in any of the official media, but I believe someone thought it was Bronty who sold it off.
When was it graded?

Thanks for the correction, for some reason I thought it went through the HA process. Apparently the three bought it stragith from the seller for barely above $100K ($100,150 per the original release), then made damned sure to announce that on HA's website, muddying the waters as to what the market value would have been versus what they were willing to shell out to kickstart things. Still stand by all the info that's been provided regarding them quietly shilling (acknowledged in comics by insiders, with suit brought against them, but not yet proven in video games).
Who was the seller?

I was there dude. Back when NA was the only place to get really detailed info so you were forced to be subjected to the gaslighting from these "pillars of the community". Remember the guy who always bought prototypes and unreleased games and held them hostage, then said he wanted to punch Pat Contri in the face? Yeah funny how he never got banned for that. At least now their little circlejerk has been exposed and they can't BS their way out of this
Yes gaslighting is EXACTLY what it was. With a side order of enabling.

All these old NA guys coming here and defending WATA and Deniz are doing it because they have a vested interest in the scam continuing. They've been doing it since before WATA even existed. Deniz could go on national television and say "you know what guys, he was right, this was all a big scam" and these people would STILL defend him.
This is nothing, you should've seen what this argument was like on NA! There was zero objectivity because all these guys were in the background trying to start wata! It was like pissing in the wind.

Yeah, that thread was a matter class in bullshit artistry by the wata advisory board that wanted so desperately to control the narrative. RIP bullshit thread.

And shame on anyone, especially here of all places, pretending not to understand what has been going on the last couple years.
Exactly, they are just pretending. Shame on anyone here who takes the bait.

This may be a shocker but whistle blowers bring up things like this for more than just being pissed off on not making money. Not everyone is drived by greed like WATA/HA
So you're saying there isn't a reward?

This tweet seems relevant given the "he didn't bother to reach out" argument, though I wonder if he tried reaching out to anyone else.
I wonder if they'll try to sue him.

I wonder who gave that guy Karl all the info. Someone from the inner circle was left off the money train and got jealous I bet... and that psa from pat the NES punk was so cringey at the end.

lol this is such a classic NintendoAge response
"You just made the video because you hate graded games...youre probably JEALOUS!"
Seriously why don't you fuck off? No one in this hobby wants people like you around anymore. You're a cancer.
I can't wait for one of these assholes to end up in jail only to see another turd like you pop up and say "hey I always thought he was a genuine, humble collector! That judge who sentenced him is just jealous of his graded games!" You are so unbelievably delusional.
But how do you really feel? Don't hold back be honest.

I haven't.
What is the summary that led to the @ mention?
EDIT: I've "seen this" in the context of being aware that this discussion is going on. I'm just not big, at all, on watching web videos, so I haven't watched this one, either.
It's really nothing new, basically the same old story with the suspected collusion between wata/heritage/go collect etc... It looks like there are several articles popping up about the topic as well if you type in wata and fraud. Seems to be picking up a tiny bit of steem.

The video missed the part where the Carolina collection was then lent to wata to be paraded around at game conventions as part of the self promotion. So the graders grading their own games then promoted their own games which they graded? Honestly it gets a little confusing.

If you don't have an hour, just skip to the 28:12 timestamp and honestly watch the next like 5-10 minutes. Again, stuff we were pretty generally aware of, but framed quite well.
@arch_8ngeldid you happen to see this?

It's funny, I remember being the only one questioning Dain directly on NA if he was having his games graded by WATA and then literally getting harassed by every mod on that site. Seems like the sentiment has changed quite a bit within the last few years.

This is pretty wild watching a Major League game being played in a cornfield. I'm glad that they already decided to do it again next season.
Yeah that was awesome. Did you happen to see Tim Andersen's walk off homerun off the Yankees sad ass bullpen? We scored 4 runs in the 9th inning to take the lead then had our hearts ripped out and set on fire. Good times.

Yeah that was exactly my point, because you seem extremely biased and you also seem to take my objective questions personal. Like you have skin in the game.
