  1. I honestly don't see what the issue is with people messaging about specific things. I can see given the context of this thread in particular how it might be viewed weird, but I feel like a random PM asking for things that wasn't mentioned in the thread would be far scuzzier. But even then, I would never fault someone for shooting their shot. That said, I had a feeling @Code Monkey wasn't planning to scoop rares off me during a depression. It simply wouldn't make sense based on what I know about him. Sure, I could see him asking about specific items, but only if I had actually MENTIONED them. He knows a few of them, and I've stated I wasn't looking to sell them. I also gave him free reign to make offers if he chose to do so, but also warned him that my price might be beyond sanity because I wasn't looking to move on from them. So had it actually been offers, it wouldn't have been shocking. Anyway, I also know this thread may have got some people worried about me. Honestly, I'll be okay. I've struggled longer than I can remember with bipolar disorder and general depression, coupled with what is likely ADHD and possibly other underlying issues. The worst part is that I haven't been properly treated for it, and am working on that process. I have life issues on top that have caused my mind to spiral. But with that said, despite having suicidal thoughts, I'm not at a point where that's a thing I am actually considering. And I have resources available if that changes. I'm struggling, sure, but I'm not in danger at this point. The thoughts did lead me to this topic, but it wasn't a cry for help so much as just a place my mind went while thinking about what I'd be leaving behind. Believe me, I do appreciate the concerns and all, but hopefully this corner will be turned in due time. Anyway, I'm not worried about logging the games, though I have yet to find an app that has everything I have. Even Pricecharting is missing a bunch of stuff. And then it gets complicated considering the piles of peripherals, consoles, books, pamphlets, merch, etc. Short of putting together my own spreadsheets I don't know a good way to document it all. And adding values, keeping it all updated, etc...that to me is just a bit outside of my skillset. Trawling through the boxes isn't as daunting as some would think, despite the quantity. It's the documentation that gets me.
  2. It looks to me like the game crashed. Talk about shitty timing. I would probably count that myself, at least for the purpose of this list, but regardless, I know how much work that game takes, and as fun as it is, that's a shite way to end off. I actually tried to get into F-117A right after, but for whatever reason it didn't hit the same. They added a few things to the formula, so that could've had something to do with it. But yeah, I thought it was weird because I really dug F-15, but F-117A was meh. Can't figure that one out for the life of me
  3. Not gonna lie, i kinda dig the game...but 32 levels? Fuck that noise
  4. I actually really dug that one when I played it. What'd you think about it? The last time I played Predator I was like two or three levels from the end, when I hit "Start" instead of "Continue" on the title screen. I like the game, but I haven't played it since because of that BS.
  5. They're 10 and 11. While I might consider parting with some things to help with their college or something, I'm not going to give them things that will be subject to their preteen whims. While the older one I could see being smart with it, the younger one is extremely impulsive with money.
  6. In fairness, I more or less know the value of my stuff. I don't 100% know what all I have, but on the off chance I part with anything, I ain't giving shit away for pennies lol
  7. It's cool man. He's actually local to me, we've met in person. Hell, I dumped his Tengen chips for him. Whether he's testing the waters for some of the rarities I own or offering advice, I'm okay with anything he might come at me with. Besides, posting threads like this is bound to get the vultures circling. It comes with the territory
  8. You damn sure better give fair market value to my nieces for them. Otherwise I'm gonna haunt your ass
  9. Karate Kid is done. Frustrating as hell at points, but overall short and relatively easy. I wouldn't call it terrible, but it's definitely not good. It's just kinda...there.
  10. Caveman Games is done. As is my elbow. Hate button mashers.
  11. I actually wouldn't mind scoring something like that. I'm at 14/20 on my Pico collection, with the bulk of the rares already down. Haven't seen a sampler cart come up at all in my searches. Super rare, but demand is next to zero.
  12. From what I understand, you have to manually drop every piece on level 255 or it locks. Looping it may be borderline impossible when that is factored in. And that's assuming there isn't some other nigh impossible task to prevent locking on an earlier level.
  13. I know @scaryice hasn't put the bonuses up yet, but I got a head start and knocked off Moon Ranger. Aside from the usual Color Dreams physics issues, I kinda dig this one. I mean, I have a soft spot for CD anyway, but this wasn't half as bad as some of their games. And the mix between shooter and platformer was kinda cool too, with neither being great but both helping to keep it feeling fresh.
  14. Probably. I can count on one hand the number of people who would truly give a shit.
  15. That's long gone man. I traded that over a decade ago. Got what I considered at the time to be a good trade, though considering what I could get nowadays I don't thing Chip & Dale 2, the Dungeon Magic strategy guide and $100 US was really enough.
  16. That could be the best bet. I'd still like a trusted person to be the guide for this, maybe @Dr. Morbis if he'd be willing/able, but someone else if not. I know a bunch of the local folks that would love to get a shot at some of these items. Some people have definitely expressed interest in a lot of things, but having someone I trust fully to make sure they're giving my family a fair offer would definitely ease my mind. And then from there they can sell the bulk stuff to Jeff because as much as I'd like them to get full value for every crap PS2 sports game, that would 100% be unrealistic, and a store would be a better place to unload the filler items on than hoping some random collector is willing to pay top dollar for NHL 2003 or some shit
  17. This. The only thing I could see is if the stand alone pad wasn't released until after the transition, but that's an extreme longshot. Nintendo didn't have a history of selling peripherals only with sets. You could buy the Zapper and ROB separately at the same time that you could get the Deluxe Set. And being several years after the system launched, they definitely weren't stupid enough to put out an accessory that was ONLY available if you bought a new system. No, it's more likely that it's just a case of 5-screw Stadium Events syndrome - they exist, but quantities are so scarce that they almost never show up.
  18. The thing with Jeff is he's pretty fair with his payouts. He gives probably closer to 50-75%, and even more if it's rare enough that he figures it'll drive sales. Given that paring it down to me would mentally be equivalent to cutting off my hand, he's probably the best bet for them to get a reasonable lump sum. That said, I feel like some of the stuff even he would have a hard time with. I have a ton of one-of-a-kind items that would be tough for a store to put a price on.
  19. I've never got more than $200 on either of those stages, so clearly I'm doing it wrong
  20. Pay attention to the screen when you're walking. If you hit a spinner or a teleporter, the screen briefly flashes. If you spin and go into the menu, it will spin again, so don't cast Dumapic until you step off the spinner. Also, a space with a teleport shows the space you end on, not the one you start on, so if your map says there should be a wall and it's actually a hallway, you could be seeing a teleporter (it could also be a one-way wall, so it's not foolproof). Or you could just grab the maps online
  21. When it starts getting fast, try and get the Stooges icon. Beating the shit out of Larry and Curly makes the hand slower. You make no money that day, but it makes future days easier to plan for.
