  1. Well I was 13 in 83. I don't remember there being a specific crash being talked about in the news or among my peers per say.. I only knew of one person in my class in 81 who had an Atari 2600. I got to play on it a few times and wasn't all that impressed(I only liked Berzerk) In 83 I remember going to Sears and playing on the Intellivision(not impressed) or a local Food market/toy store/sporting goods store and playing a Vectrex(Loved it but way to expensive for my parents to buy). In between sports outside if I wanted to play video games I went to the arcade which for me blew away Atari/Colecovision/Intellivision. In 84 no one I knew at school had or wanted one of those systems. I don't recall going to stores to play them anymore either. From 84 to 88 I'd say the best video games I played were on friends Commodore 64 or the Apple IIe. It was that time I discovered new genres like RPG's(Wizrardy) or strategy games like Archon, M.U.L.E. or Dark Forest. I never heard about the NES till 89 at a house party. Things would be winding down.....a few guys would fire up the Nes to play Super Mario Bros....hmmm...ok..that looks pretty cool! I remember one friend pulled out a Famicom cart on a honeybee adapter that had 150 games on it! In 89 that was mind blowing lol. It wasn't until Super Mario Bros 3 came out that home video games became very popular for me and my peers.
  2. I'm looking to trade for the following items Demolition Man Sega CD CIB will take the Genesis version Revengers of Vengeance Sega CD CIB trade list below https://gametz.com/user/Bighab.html
  3. Mmmmm the deep fried Green olives were yummy!
  4. Black olives are ok but I only like them on a Greek Salad. I love love Green olives! Gotta always get them on pizza.Big ones stuffed with pimento are my favorite. I also like the Green olives that are stuffed with garlic. The garlic has a nice crunch. I'll also buy sliced green olives and put them on Burgers or hotdogs and even sandwiches. There's a food truck I hope to try out tonight that one of the menu items is deep fried breaded green olives! I love the saltiness of them I guess. Even a semi traumatic experience didn't turn me off of green olives. 30 years ago I was a rookie playing University football. Back then "Hazing" was part of the accepted culture. You did the usual heavy drinking and disgusting skits and whatnot. One thing they made the rookies do is anyone who wasn't circumcised had to see how many green olives they could stuff under their foreskin. Fucked up I know lol! Thank god I didn't have to participate in that ritual.
  5. Mine is the same as the reprint photo other than the differences I noted. I'm going to assume because of how light it is it has the sheet of paper in place of the manual. Interesting that during different print runs of the reprint they changed some dates/bar codes
  6. The back of my reprint looks exactly like the back of the one you posted with the following exceptions: It still says 2007 Nintendo instead of the 2014 Nintendo date The numbers beside the Official Nintendo seal are 64288C instead of 64288A The small barcode is 00002 instead of 00000 I'll see if I can upload a picture for you
  7. Thanks for the info. The thing is my reprint still has a 2007 copyright date on it. So could it be from a different batch of reprints?
  8. I have a sealed Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn for the Wii I bought new from a local store 6 months ago.. It's lighter than an open copy I have. It was sold as brand new. Did this game get reprinted without a manual? It's a Canadian version with English and French language on the back.
  9. I've got a good story I had with a problem seller on Ebay last year. I had bid on and won three separate auctions from the same seller for 4 pack magazine lots of Epic and Heavy Metal magazine. Before I paid the seller I asked if he will do combined shipping on the three lots and was told "Yes not a problem" In each auction he had an estimated shipping charge of $10 along with a "Handling fee" of $8. I get the invoice and the three auctions for 12 magazines were $32 with shipping and handling charges of $39 for a total of $71. Big red flag seeing a $39 shipping and handling charge. The guy only lived 50miles away but being how Canada post is insanely expensive I gave the seller the benefit of the doubt and paid the invoice and waited for my package. Later in the week the package arrives and I see that the actual shipping charges were only $18. I emailed the seller asking why he charged me $21 above the actual shipping charges and if I could get a partial refund. He basically told me tough shit and that I had agreed to his terms when bidding on his auctions and I was out of luck. I then called Ebay and spoke to a customer service rep. I showed her the three auctions and the invoice he had sent me and that I had paid. She told me that he was allowed to have a handling fee in his auctions but he wasn't allowed to charge the handling fee three times therefore he had to refund me $16 from the $39 shipping and handling charge. My phone conversation with the Ebay rep went like this: Me: How do I get the $16 refund from him when he already refused any refund? Ebay rep: Well you tell him that it's against the rules that he charged you the $8 handling for each auction when he agreed to combined shipping. Therefor he has to refund you the $16 Me: That's fine I'll tell him that but as I said he will probably refuse. Ebay rep: Well then you tell him that you will leave negative feedback on all three auctions. Negative feedback really affects a sellers ability to sell so he won't want that to happen. Me: Um isn't that a form of extortion? Me threatening him with negative feedback if he doesn't refund my money doesn't seem ethical to me Ebay rep: No no it's fine. Usually sellers will agree to it to avoid any problems. So I emailed the seller explaining that I had contacted Ebay to complain about his high Shipping and Handling fees. I explained to him that Ebay said he had to refund me $16 because he wasn't allowed to charge the handling fee three times. I was told by Ebay to leave negative feedback if he didn't comply. Well he then replies that I'm threatening him and that he's not refunding any money and that he will file a complaint with Ebay against me! So I leave negative feedback on all three auctions with the caption "Overcharges shipping and handling" and I file for a partial refund from Paypal of $16 on the transaction they processed. A little over a week later I look at his feedback and I see that the negative feedback I had left had been removed. The transactions I had made we gone from my records. I was pissed so I called up ebay to speak to a rep. I ask why was the sellers negative feedback removed. I was told that it was placed as retaliatory threat for not getting a partial refund. I explained to the rep that their own Ebay rep TOLD ME to say those things to the seller. Their rep had told me to leave negative feedback if I didn't get a refund of $16. This new rep said that the original rep I spoke to had made a mistake and blah...blah...blah I couldn't do what I did....blah...blah...blah they were a new rep and that a refund would be coming soon. So another week goes by and I get a refund of $55 from the transaction. Huh? I only asked for $16 and Paypal gives me $55?? I was like this can't be right so i immediately withdrew the $55 to my bank account. No explanation from Ebay or Paypal or nothing. Auction was $71 and I get a $55 refund. I've never heard of this happening to anyone else before. I'm going to assume Ebay admitted to themselves that the original rep I spoke to had made a mistake handling the dispute and they would cover all the costs so that the seller wasn't out any money and I got the magazines for only the cost of shipping. After 3 months I had read the magazines and the Epic didn't seem as great as when I was a kid. They were just sitting around as a reminder of a shitty transaction. I kept the two Heavy Metal annuals and sold the other 10 magazines locally for $50
  10. In 2017 I bought a manual less copy of Snatcher for the Sega CD for $280. My copy had a photocopied back art so I made it complete and promptly resold the disk only copy for $230. I remember buying Steel Battalion new at retail for $250. Dropped $200 on a complete PDS in 2002. Those are the top three I can think of.
  11. Ah I missed your reply in the other thread about playing scene 2 and 3. I have them translated. How easy was it to import your scene 1 save to the next scene?
  12. Great game. Have you played scene's 2 and 3?
  13. As incredible as it may seem I have never bought or been given a music CD in my life. I've always used cassettes throughout the late 80's and 90's My cars were older and they had cassette players in them. My current car has a CD player and I used to get my daughter to make me up music CD's but now I just use music off my phone through the AUX cable.
  14. Battletech on the Genesis is the same game as Mechwarrior 3050 for the Snes so it is a useful guide.
  15. Aw I never knew it was that rare. I will probably stick to trying to get the PC version instead. I have this Battletech guide that covers the Genesis and Snes game. I've never seen it for sale. How rare is it? https://www.estarland.com/product-description/SegaGenesis/BattleTech-Official-Strategy-Guide/39397
  16. Aw my wise friend. When are you going to show some Koei love? All the Koei Nes strategy games are offset rows of squares which in effect are hex based maps. A lot of the Snes/Genesis Koei games have hex based maps too but I stick to the Nes ones mostly Genghis Khan Bandit Kings of Ancient China Nobunaga's Ambition 1&2 Romance of the Three Kingdoms 1&2 L'Empereur
  17. I love Dr Who. Tom Baker being my favorite Doctor. Jon Pertwee was a close 2nd. I actually got to meet Jon Pertwee and get his autograph at a local Dr Who convention back in 85. I've never got around to watching any of the reboot Dr Who series yet.
  18. Going through my strategy guides tonight and it seems I don't have the AD&D Eye of the Beholder guide for the Snes. I'm looking for that one but I'd be happy just having the PC version(I assume it's the same?)
  19. I bought Super Famicom Wars wayyy back when on a Super Famicom memory cartridge. Great game. Now a days it's nice to see a lot of these games receiving fan translations. Second import I ever bought was Feda Emblem of Justice. A Shining Force clone that's easy to play
  20. Ah I fondly remember the early 2000's and searching the internet for Strategy Rpg's on various systems. I found a fan site dedicated to the Front Mission series. I was checking the site out and was disappointed they were all Japanese only. But I looked at the review/screen shots of Front Mission on the Super Famicom and found out all the menu's were in English. Ok so I wouldn't be able understand the story but the missions were on a linear path. All the shop menu's and upgrading of your Mech's were in English. So here we had a Strategy Rpg with cool Mechs that would be easy to play and I was hooked. I quickly went to Ebay and I bought the first complete copy I saw. I played it to completion after it arrived. Loved it! I've enjoyed trying to find Strategy Rpg's/Strategy games to play that didn't require much English ever since.
  21. I'm ashamed to say Shining Force 2 is the only Shining Force game I haven't beaten. Got to the end with my party 10 years ago and kept losing and gave up for awhile. I did restart it a few years ago though. I really need to beat this one
  22. Love the SSI Gold box games. Never played them cause I didn't have a PC but I enjoy Pools of Radiance on the Nes and Buck Rogers Countdown to Doomsday for the Genesis
  23. Awe c'mon now how could you forget Metal Marines? Base building(Sim City) with strategy elements using your attacking Metal Marines and missile attacks. I enjoyed War 2410 but the other two not so much. There were lots of Strategy Rpg's for the Super Famicom that sadly weren't ported over here.
  24. I've tried defending the castle turn one but could never do it myself
