  1. I realized this too, everything is too pricy, I found myself buying modern stuff from limitedrun, premium edition games, homebrew from a developer that brought his own games, and strategy guides. Sega cd, genesis, saturn, snes was all overpriced and/or grimy/meh condition. Also, lots of guys putting something out that is uncommon and going on and on about how crazy rare said item is.
  2. Agreed, I get overwhelmed by the number of games I have. Prioritizing is the way to go.
  3. I gave up on that one, the beat em up style made my hands hurt on a ps4 controller.
  4. So, does it count for the limited run set if you buy the collectors edition with all 4 case covers or do you buy the same game 4 times with each variant? Jesus.
  5. Your "ummm" is making me think I need to revisit it before I say it's amazing again lol. It has been at least 15 years since I've played it and that was on original xbox.
  6. I played that when it came out and it blew my mind at the time. So good. Does it hold up?
  7. Lol, my so bought me hogwarts legacy and I fell off hard.... I'm coming back, I promise!!!
  8. I played on ps5 but I would just get the Series x version so you're good to go. The regular xbox version has stripped down textures and limited performance.
  9. Knocked calisto Protocol off the list just now. I think reviewers were too hard on it, I enjoyed it. It was like walking simulator meets survival horror with a mixture of gunplay and stealth action. I'm glad it's not just me on metro. I really like the world so I'm going to power through.
  10. My update: Horizon Forbidden West (PS5) - Completed the main story at a little over 100 hours at the beginning of Jan - thanks to an Xmas vacation that let me put a little more time in than usual. This game didn't grab me like the original from a story perspective but the gameplay was so good I found myself sinking 6-8 hr sessions into this thing. So it's definitely a good one. Will finish the collectibles when the DLC comes out. For this list though - I consider it done. Stray (PS5) - Short and fun, completed this in early Jan as well. Devil in Me (Series X) - Another short one. The wife and I play these together. I think it got mixed reviews but we found this one much scarier then the other games in the series. Mostly because there isn't a supernatural element, it's just a serial killer stalking you. Good stuff. I'm working my way through Callisto Protocol and Metro 2033 Redux. I'm loving Callisto Protocol - totally worth a buy if you're on the fence - just get it on sale. Metro is definitely dated at this point - I had to put it down. But I definitely want to knock it off the list and play exodus afterwards.
  11. Alright, I know I have not participated much beyond being a wall flower but I'll throw my hat in the ring. I'm not even touching my retro stuff - just working through my modern game backlog. This is mostly a way to keep me from shopping sales all year - I have plenty to play through without buying anything new. Some of these are long and some are pretty short. A completion for me will be considered story play-through complete - not 100%'ing the game. I have 80 hours into Forbidden West right now because I'm enjoying it so much and it shows 50% complete, lol. I didn't add any new games to the list coming out - I'm sure there will be a few distractions, like PSVR2 and Starfield. Horizon Forbidden West PS5 Stray PS5 Sackboy A big Adventure PS5 Deathloop PS5 A Hat in Time PS4 Calisto Protocol PS5 The Last of Us Part 1 PS5 Elden Ring PS5 Call Of Duty Vanguard Series X Call of Duty Modern Warfare Series X Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS5 Devil in Me Series X Returnal PS5 Demons Souls PS5 Spiderman Miles Morales PS5 Ori and the will of the Wisps Series X Return of the Obra Dinn PS4 God of War PS4 Dark Souls Remastered Xbox Uncharted Lost Legacy PS5 Resident Evil 2 Remake PS4 Mass Effect Remasterd (games 1 & 2) Series X Disco Elysium PS4 Sonic Colors Xbox Sonic Frontiers PS5 Road 96 Xbox Halo 3 Series X Halo 4 Series X Halo Infinite Series X Blasphamous Xbox It Takes Two Series X A Plague Tale Requiem Series X The Witcher 3 DLC's Series X Red Dead Redemption 2 Series X Metro 2033 Redux Xbox Metro Exodus Xbox Resident Evil 7 PS4 Resident Evil 8 Series X Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice Series X Alan Wake Remastered Series X Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Series X
  12. I wouldn't restore it unless it's really bad. Restoration can go wrong and lower the value as well. I've learned over the years that sometimes it's better to leave things alone until you have the experience or find the right person to do it.
  13. I have this one and I like it. Using it with new stuff and analouge systems. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083NWKPXW/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_VMCFQZC97JJY684R0DTZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  14. I think at this point I'm going to accept that we're not going to agree on this topic. I stand by what I've said.
  15. I feel this way about cities skylines. It's definitely my stress game. I can burn through an entire Saturday and still feel like I want to keep playing. CIV6 does a similar thing to me. When I have a multi day session (in between work of course) I just feel gross. So I'll uninstall for several months until the bug bites again.
  16. I could not get into that game. I really wanted to. Love that type of asthetic, but it just wasn't entertaining to me.
  17. The pier solar collectors edition is pretty sweet. This one I keep talking myself out of buying off ebay. Too many other things to buy.
  18. I think the issue I have is that it's not respectful in any way. OP is trying to make a distinction that elevates some collectors over others.
  19. My post does not support your argument in any way. Reread it.
  20. You're moving the goal posts because you can't make a coherent argument. You start the thread using the term amassers to put a group of people down. Then pretend like it's tongue in cheek when people call you out.
  21. So, my girlfriend collects prints of art from local artists when we go on trips. We maybe have 1 or 2 items that could be considered original paintings. It's inexpensive and supports the artist. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but almost everyone on this forum collects "prints" when they are buying video games. One could argue that prototype cartridges are the closest thing to original art if we're going down that road. When the artist passes or stops producing the prints, a person might look to etsy for a reproduction. It's something they like and it couldn't be obtained reasonably otherwise. They want to look at it and appreciate it, but getting an original or originally produced print is impossible and wouldn't support the artist anyways. So what are game reproductions? They fall into the camp of the artist is gone and it's unavailable for a reasonable sum. Someone is making a repro of it available for a reasonable amount. Let's be real, I doubt people buying prints of artwork are on the radar of real art collectors. An art collector that isn't toxic would probably have no problem talking about the art with someone that appreciates it but can only afford a summation of it through a reproduction. It's about the art and what it makes you feel, not having the original brushed product (for 99% of the world). As it relates to emulation and downloading roms, no one is telling people that buy reproductions of artwork that they should only buy coffee table books or look at images online. That they have no right to hang it on their wall and call themselves an art collector. No one really cares....It's ok to buy a reproduction print. I don't normally engage in this type of internet argument but we label everyone anymore in society and I just don't see it as necessary in this hobby. My two cents.
