  1. Its actually 1 point per fish and a bonus 2 points if you catch at least three fish. So I go for 8 fish at least giving me 10 points. If you catch every fish and don't miss, that's 240 baits it would take to get to 300 points. I've been getting lucky and finding at least 1 fish near where I go on the beach so I've been getting 11 points a lot.
  2. Its all based on how many fish you catch not which ones. You can catch a bunch of horse mackerel and it would be the same. You need 300 points for the gold trophy. I'm at 120ish. Going for all the gifts and the silver trophy [200 point]. Don't know if I will go all the way to gold.
  3. Is anyone going for the Gold Fishing trophy? I don't think I've got the stamina...
  4. Good question. I don't think so. I do have an online subscription, but it doesn't ask for that. You might just try it. I'm happy to send you a code to see if it works. I'm on right now. PM me if you want to try
  5. That's awesome! Totally nabbed the Link one
  6. That was seriously a ton of fun! If you haven't had the opportunity to play with someone, I suggest taking the time. It's not the most robust online experience, but it's really cool seeing someone come through the gates at your airport for the first time. You don't really get to interact much, but it was fun showing off my island, house, and town and then coop fishing was real cool. Especially with the luck we were both having. Just giving each other reactions when we each caught our fish made the game feel less isolated. Each of us covering a different side of the island to mine bait for fishing felt very team oriented and worked, obviously. I'd like to think the game rewarded us for our team play by giving us all the fish we were missing. That was so cool. Poor Skorp came looking for a tuna and what was the very first thing I pulled out of the water? A freaking Tuna!! LOL! I thought he was going to die. I laughed so hard. Then like three casts later, he caught his and I caught my Barreleye. So, then I thought "Why not see if this luck continues on the Golden Trout?" Within 10 minutes, we each had one and Skorp caught his Snapping Turtle. That was really fun.
  7. Who's taking bet as to which one drops an "F" bomb in a debate first? I kind of like the matchup. Two old timers that DGAF going at each other for the grandest of prizes. Bring it on. LOL!
  8. I bought two copies. One to play and one to keep sealed just in case. They are supposed to arrive tomorrow
  9. Funny, I had the exact same experience last night. I got a bamboo island and came back with an inventory full of Atlas moths, Jewel Beetles and Tarantulas and made over $150K with Flick. Isabelle was real cryptic until I put out enough stuff like swings and a lighthouse and Godzilla, a bunch of yard art type stuff. That's when my Island bumped up to a 2 star rating and she started getting a lot more specific. She told me to plant flowers, plant saplings, clean up weeds. So I did all that, planting about 20 flowers and 5 saplings, and picking up 100 weeds, and my island bumped up to 3 stars. The next morning, KK was there and I got the credits. Now I have an app that I can make paths and change landscapes. The upgrades cost 6000 bells to do rivers or cliffs, then the path options cost 2000 bells each. I now have every bug that I know of that is available to this point except for a snail. Waiting for rain for that one, apparently. I still need a Barreleye and a Golden Trout for known fish. I've wasted well over 400 baits going after that damned trout. I have two pools on top and I've fished both of them as well as their 2nd level rivers and nothing except a ton of Cherry Salmon, Dace, and Char. I've abandoned the Barreleye until I get the Trout.
  10. Yes I did. It wasn't hard once I understood what Isabelle was saying to do. I went to 2 stars, then planted a bunch of flowers and trees and got to 3 stars and Tom went crazy and KK showed up the next morning and credits rolled. Now I have the island editor and spent about 20K miles on customization stuff.
  11. That was a BIG box from NISA. Holy cow. Looks like they sent two orders together. All this came today.
  12. I guess I beat the game today? LOL
  13. Sweet! Anything else you are missing? I still need a surgeonfish too. Let's try to coordinate a time to meet up at one another's islands and trade.
  14. I should have qualified better that I've got everything available in the Northern Hemisphere except those. I've caught at least a dozen Tuna. I will trade you a tuna for a barreleye? Also starting to think about breeding flowers. I got a random black tulip and couldn't figure out how until I read that I accidentally did a real thing.
  15. I've got at least 30 of each egg. I'm only missing 1 bug, that moth that only apears on trees, and three fish, Golden trout, surgeonfish, and barreleye. I've added a second room to my house after upgrading the size and added 2 bridges and 6 inclines so I never have to use my ladder again. Lol! And I've set up a little park on my island, put out a lifeguard stand and a lighthouse. And I've got 8 neighbors at this point. Once I get those last fish, I will focus on more of the island decorating. From what I've read, once KK shows up, you are allowed to completely terraform your island. I'm looking forward to that!
  16. Me too, actually. A 35th Anniversary compilation cart would be cool
  17. They do. I'm drowning in miles and I buy two tickets a day. The stones on the other islands seem to yield more iron nuggets
  18. I can only find a Japanese release. Is it coming to NA?
  19. Yeah, he's a good one early. Keep trying. You will get into it faster than you think. Truthfully, this was my first Pokemon game ever and I loved it. It plays right into my completionist nature. I don't know why I didn't play one sooner. The Switch has done that to me a lot, actually. First Pokemon game and loved it. First Fire Emblem game and loved it. First Xenoblade game and loved it. Now first Animal Crossing game and I'm hooked on it, too. Such an amazing console.
  20. The ones that appear outside the grass will kick your ass at first. Only grab the ones in the grass until you beat a couple of gyms
  21. You absolutely can get through the game by just grabbing what you see and leveling up through fights and the main story. I would suggest doing max raids in the beginning for candies to help level up faster. Later in the game they appear much less frequently and are much harder. Take advantage early. My 7 year old son just did those battles and somehow caught a tyranitar that he leveled up with just the candy and then just destroyed everything in his path through the main game with that one pokemon basically.
  22. No problem. I will wait for the next run or just get a different one later. Thanks for looking!
