  1. I think you are right for sure. Pure anal extraction, but I think that number is somewhere between 1-2000. That seems to be how many copies sell right away. Then the rest wait for demand to catch up from players and casual collectors.
  2. I would be VERY surprised. Think about it. There are so many games that have not sold out with that minimum print run. the minimum print run in Europe is only 3000 copies and there are several that have had that print run on games that have been sitting for months without selling out. Wouldn't 5000 full set collectors have gobbled that up by now? I do agree that video games are one of the most popular collectibles today and there are way more of us than even 5 years ago. I just don't think the evidence supports there being that many. Now the real question is how could I have written that paragraph without using the term "print run" so much? LOL
  3. @Astor Reinhardt, I'd love to catalog some of that stuff, too. I have the red arcade cab, but that's it. Its in my bedroom now, but I want to make an arcade too as I have one in my basement at home. @8-bit_boice! Good to see you! We need to meet up for a trade again soon when all this stuff blows over.
  4. I don't know that I would quite agree with you. There's 4 games still in stock plus a CE other than this release. I think they way overestimated the following for Gardens Between, but the standard edition sold out. That means they have sold out 25 releases. You can't tell me that there are 4-5000 set collectors out there. There is definitely demand for these games. There are other limited publishers you could definitely say that about, though. Super Rare definitely has a following, but it's not enough to sell out based on brand loyalty alone, in my opinion.
  5. Yeah, you get to purchase 48 hours prior to release. Among other small bonuses
  6. I actually did the club thing this year and I was surprised to see that it was already at 65% when I logged in Tuesday to purchase it.
  7. Could be what that random secret beach is for?
  8. I love that idea! We should set either a time limit or a certain number of baits. Only fishing from the bank because there isn't enough room on the pier. That sounds awesome! Skorp and I played tag and Hide and seek last night on my island. It was surprisingly fun and dumb. Lol!
  9. Right!?! Lol. We need to do it again where we can actually play for a bit. Damn kids. One had a fat lip and the other had a bloody nose. It was an epic battle apparently. All over Pokemon cards. Lol! @Tanooki or @Aguy or @The Strangest or anyone else want to join us at some point? I know @Skorp is down if he ever remembers to charge his Switch. Lol!
  10. That's awesome! I actually had one of my residents ask about @B.A. today. "Where is Brian? I sure miss him. He was running all over the place." LOL!
  11. I've been on conference calls today, so I've been getting some good AC time in! It's raining on my island today, so I decided to put the coelacanth theory to the test. Well, I've caught 5 of them today and I've missed my share of XXL shadows as well, so who knows if those were also the ancient one. I'd say it definitely helps, but I have, in fact, caught 10 others on mystery islands when it was NOT raining, just fishing off the pier with bait. I think the rain actually has an affect on luck in general when fishing. I had one stretch where I caught something like red snapper, coelacanth, red snapper, knifejaw, snapper, oarfish, knifejaw, marlin. Then a few cast later, I caught a Tuna. It was insane! I'm fishing with 25 baits at a time then cleaning up on the shore with whatever space I had left and one trip netted me (pardon the pun) over 100K bells. It's been a fun day for sure! I think all in all, I've made almost 1/2 a million. steadily paying off that first upstairs room so I can build the last one. I also worked on paths and put out some more stuff to decorate the island in general. I think I have a good idea on what I want to do for a layout, but it's going to take some time. I think I have decided to make an orchard section with all of my fruit trees, make a grand main street type thing lined with trees and light poles, and set up a playground and a zen garden somewhere. Once that's all done, I will see what I have left for room and branch out from there.
  12. I think I was somewhere around 90 hrs and now that I have the tool I hardly use it.
  13. If they would remake KOTOR, it would be like printing money.
  14. That's kind of what I do. I pick up games I'm missing on sales. Very rarely will I preorder or pay full price anymore unless it is a title that I've been wanting to play. I have 2 preorders in for the Xenoblade CE hoping at least 1 ships. I bought Animal Crossing at launch, but I used a BB certificate, so I don't count that as paying full price, and I wanted that damn bell bag! LOL
  15. I highly doubt that I will full set the Switch. I started collecting thinking I might. I have all of the first year releases for North America and I'm missing about 30 or so for the second year. But I couldn't keep up last year and it's even worse this year. I just don't see me doing it. I'm sitting somewhere around 410 right now, but I have several imports in that number. I just don't seem myself doing it. It will probably slow down even more each year after this year. There's just too many and there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel.
  16. Sure thing! And anyone else that wants to join. Maybe around 10 or so?
  17. I've now caught 10 of them. Enough that I have a pet one in my house, as Skorp knows. It has never rained yet for me either. I think that is a myth. I have caught 8 of them on nook miles islands and 2 on mine. Always off of piers.
  18. Well, shit. Now I regret stopping collecting them. Oh well. I guess I will do the same thing and make what I can and sell. It sucks that you have to buy two carts to play together locally. I guess I could wait for an eshop sale and use a bunch of points to discount it down as far as possible. I dont know.
  19. @B.A., that goldfish was tough for me too. I caught it on a nook miles ticket island with just a pond in the middle. @Skorp, do the outfits sell for that much for real? I have heard of people time traveling to catch everything. I'm always scared to do shit like that. Like it might bug out my game or something. The trippiest part is she has apples as her fruit, but there isn't a single flower on her island. Its all weeds and grassy looking stuff. Is there a way for us to play together on her island without two cartridges?
  20. The weirdest thing today. My daughter has seen how hooked I am to ACNH and has asked to set up her own island on our Switch Lite. This is like her third day playing. So, Mr. Bunny was there and I notice a bug flying around that I haven't seen on my island. So, she caught it and it is a Red Dragonfly. Those aren't supposed to be in the game until Summer. So, I start playing and I caught a Ribbon Eel. Again, not supposed to be in the game yet. AND, like I said, Bunny Boy is there. I checked the Settings on the Switch and the correct date, time, time Zone and eveything is there. Anyone have any ideas on how that is possible?
  21. We are all mad with you. I just crafted my wand and I'm done. This day can't end fast enough. Gonna spend some time terraforming, but that'll be it.
  22. I got my 2 copies. It isn't terrible. The voice acting is atrociously hilarious. The gameplay is... well, a Cooking Mama game.
  23. I don't think it would be possible to catch at least 8 fish in 3 minutes without bait, but maybe... *edit* I guess you could do it without bait and just pay more money catching less fish. Now that I think about it, with the time it takes to find and make bait, it might not take longer, just more money. But, since the fish guy is paying 150% of normal value, who cares? I might try that run and see what happens.
