HA is a traditional auction. The auction continues until the highest bid is reached and nobody else wants to bid higher. Ebay is a timed auction that ends at an exact time and doesn't truly allow for the highest bid to be reached.

Even with the flood of new graded games, few sealed popular titles like Mega Man have been available for sale, and the insider population numbers are said to be very low. I don't think there are huge lots of sealed Mega man's laying around in somebody's lost warehouse, especially with the prices were seeing. Coupled with the growing demand, this seems like it's only starting, but it only seems specific to popular titles that many people opened and played on NES, Genesis, SNES, Gameboy, and N64. However, even high grade CIBs are blowing up. Actually, not even high grade. I saw a cib retail sonic the hedgehog graded 5.5 sell for over $300 on ebay last week.

Currently waiting for a select order that I sent back in early May of 2020. It's been on "scanned" for nearly a year!

I cant believe somebody paid 6k for that moldy game. It's only going to get worse. I give it 10 more years before you can't make out what the game actually is. The only thing I can imagine the buyer will do is break it open and try to clean it.

I like HA only because I've heard horror stories from people selling graded games on Ebay and had their games "returned" because the buyer breaks open the case and tries to play the game, and then eBay protects the buyer. HA has more protection for sellers.

These auctions are not even close to being over and the prices are mind blowing for many games already. I think we're going to see a whole bunch of record sales.

I think there's a bit of speculation going on with the game. There are indeed ample sealed copies out there, and yes demand for the game is very high. However, after tracking the game on both eBay and HA since last September, I've only seen copies of the g2w-00001 variant show up four times. So I do believe there is some scarcity when it comes to that particular variant. But you're right, the other variants are popping off right now. My theory is the Minecraft crowd are the same people who are part of the Pokémon crowd.

Yes Minecraft g2w-00001 came first. I believe Wata now delineates this version as "w/ free xbox live trial". G2w-00002 and later prints (I've seen a 3rd print variant as well) are now labeled "no xbox live trial". There are quite a few wata graded copies that do not have this labeled as the variants went unnoticed early on, but one can determine the the print run either by looking at the spine for the g2w number, the Barcode on the back of the game, or the notation of "free Xbox live trial" printed on the back of the game. To date, I have not seen any wata or vga graded g2w-00001's listed for sale/auction and I've been tracking them since the OP of this thread.

Maybe Wata accidentally ripped off the seal when they were unpacking it to grade.

Has anyone used Wata's deep cleaning service or know what it entails? Are they using Goo Gone or Bestine to remove stickers/residue too? Has this service worked for you and to what extent? I guess my real question is for foggy PS2/Xbox seals. Would Wata's service be able to remedy that or is there a way to do that that's buried in this forum somewhere? I ran a search on this topic but couldn't find any info on how to combat the fog issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to add the service only to find out they just wave a bottle of windex over my game and call it a day. I worry the fog issue might be just the way she goes and there's nothing that can remedy it.

Well, we definitely need a grading company that will grade the foam block in NES games. It's outrageous that Wata/VGA do not offer that service. The foam block is the most desirable part of the cib!

I guess the secret is out on the Minecraft xbox 360 variants as the sealed g2w-00001 variant is now regularly selling on ebay for around $500 ungraded.

Wata's direct relationship with an auction house is where the controversy lies. They may not be "partnered" anymore- business to business- but they do have a monetary relationship as the people behind the businesses have money and stakes invested in both. They really need to be making moves to be as transparent as possible because this is really a big problem that will no doubt become more pronounced in the future if they do nothing about it. Just take a look at the whole "IMP" controversy they had to adjust their practices around!
