  1. Normally these are in boxes because I have no room to display them but I just got box protectors for them all. Enjoy some PAL SNES goodness with some NTSC exclusives on the bottom
  2. Huge arrival today for the TG-16 collection. That makes 28/94 for the set (not that I'll ever complete it).
  3. It's about 80 NTSC exclusives, about 80 NTSC-J exclusives and the rest is all PAL
  4. Reached 2222 PS3 games a couple days ago so I figured it was apropriate to share
  5. Can't really say it's a focus but more of a wait since I'm only one game away from full sets for these systems: Videopac, N-Gage and Black Point SHG. At the moment I'm mostly looking for Intellivision, Interton VC4000, Master System and Wii U. Between the seven mentioned I'm hoping to complete at least 3 by the end of the year.
  6. Luckily GameStop in Germany is detached from the American mother company. On Wednesday the state of Bavaria was the first to have all non-essential businesses close. GameStop's statement: "We are not an essential business so we are closing our stores in Bavaria." By now every store in Germany is closed. In general I've never heard any of the negative things about GameStop here compared to what's happening in the states. Sure they always ask to get a membership when you buy stuff but that's pretty much it. I've known some people working there and most people found it to be a relatively nice experience (for retail standards).
  7. Just beat Banjo Kazooie for the first time. Final boss gave me a massive headache. Hate the flying in this game
  8. The US is apparently rated #1 in something. Not sure in what and who rated them but OK. Also white house not testing because noone has symptoms so probably all good.
  9. Figured I'd chime in since I'm from across the pond. I work at a university in Berlin and starting next week virtually every school and university will be closed until at least past Easter. This only goes for teaching atm. Universities that have the capacities (like mine) move to online teaching for the time being. Administrative staff is urged to work from home whenever possible however it is expected that administration will be forced by authorities to seize onsite operations in the coming days. All onsite events and meetings are cancelled, postponed or moved to online as well. Most large events as well as most big sports leagues are suspended temporarily or have ended early. So far very few places have been forced into quarantine although again that should only be a matter of time. Unfortunately in these cases it's up to the individual states and health and education are some of the very few areas where states have authority and don't have to go through if the federal health/education ministries ask them to do something (basically the federal government would like to move forward faster but the states are being childish and want to play big as much as they can). As soon as the situation is declared a state of emergency though all state authority is overruled by the federal government but that has never happened in our history. As far as supply goes everything is pretty solid still. I was at three different supermarkets over the course of the week (just doing my regular shopping; no hamstering) and everywhere the shelves have been well stocked. There is a very slight shortage of toilet paper and pasta (mostly the super cheap brands) but if you want to buy something you definitely can. Overall our population seems to be quite reasonable and is more annoyed by the fact that decisions are made slowly because of the authority question. People are also a bit more chill here compared to the US for example because of our strong labor laws. Except for solo artists who might struggle basically noone has to worry about their job since salary under these circumstances is guaranteed. If a company shuts down voluntarily they still have to pay their employees as if they were working full time and if the company were to be shut down by the government the company still has to pay all wages in full but can get it back from the government. A multi-billion emergency fund for this is already being arranged. The responsible secretary already proclaimed that they will do anything in their power that no job will be lost during this period (doesn't seem to be hyper realistic but the sentiment and urge appear very genuine). If you have questions to a European feel free to ask
  10. Currently working on Banjo Kazooie. First time playing and it has been really great so far. Will probably finish tomorrow as I'm already on Rusty Bucket Bay
  11. Centre Court Tennis done. Won all four tournaments but since there are no credits here is the final screen from the last tournament.
  12. No more unbeaten racing games on my list for the moment. The next games I'm gonna play that are unbeaten so far are Centre Court Tennis and Mace: The Dark Age.
  13. V-Rally Edition 99 is done. They don't even give you credits in this game :/. I also beat Nascar 99 a couple weeks ago but forgot to take a picture. I could go back to take a screencap from my stream if that counts.
  14. No worries mate I wasn't taking it that way. I'm not trying to convince anyone either. Of course LRG and other companies are fishing for people who are afraid to miss out on rare stuff but I ain't bitin' . Honestly doesn't sound like fun to me having to spend hundreds every month on PS4 or Switch games just to keep up either.
  15. It doesn't have anything to do with the games being licensed or not. The point is that the main selling point of the game is not the game but the collectibility. Most people obviously buy them to collect them, too, which is the point I was trying to make with my eBay bit. I know not many people share that opinion but I'm a live and let live kinda guy. The argument with the rating is the one I'd use if I was in that situation because in order to get a PAL release the game has to receive a rating in line with that region otherwise it can't be sold. I've never seen people try to use a "but it runs on PAL hardware" argument before but it would be hilarious because of how stupid it would be.
  16. Kind of. Each region has around 90 titles the other doesn't have. With stuff like NES or SNES the questions usually revolve around the same games (SE, competition carts, Exertainment/Speed Racer etc.) and maybe licensed vs. unlicensed. With those people will at least acknowledge that the games are different (bar SE maybe). With PS3 you will have to think about what even makes a game different enough to actually be a different game and there are at least 100 or so on PS3 where you have to stop and think unless you have a very specific mindset going in. I think because that leads to so many different opinions people just become overprotective of their ideas since noone else will defend them for them. I don't consider Limited Run releases games at all. Again a matter of opinion and everyone is free to have their own but from day one, way before they were doing PS3 games, I was of the opinion that they were selling collectibles and not games. They don't show the back of the box on their website or even give a description of the game. They know there is a market that will buy any game no matter how shitty as long as it says "limited to 3000" or whatever the number of the day is. Props to them in that regard. Even if they were just a regular distributor I would never pre-order something that I have to pay for upfront, can't cancel and have to wait several months for. Btw ebay.com currently lists around 7.700 items if you search for Limited Run in the video games category and over 7.000 are listed as brand new. Speaks volumes in my opinion.
  17. Guy with a full PAL PS3 set here. I'm also a member of THE PS3 collectors group on facebook. I used to share my list quite often when people asked for it but nowadays I don't anymore. More often than not the feedback was negative and sometimes just assy. I also can't be bothered with people who tell me that I'm missing Hail to the Chimp for my PAL set because wikipedia says it was released in PAL. I've been collecting these games for over eight years and people who don't know anything still try to lecture me with stuff like that. They're like that kid in school who never studied, wants to copy your homework, you let him and then complains he didn't get an A. Luckily the people who do have full sets (I know four others across PAL and NTSC but there are most likely more) are very accepting and don't try to force their view on what's correct on others. Due to all the new species' of releases in that generation we all came to similar but still all different counts in the end. Personally I don't hand out my list anymore unless I know the one asking is serious and won't try to get into an endless argument about stuff that is mostly a matter of perspective rather than fact. It's not like I don't want the information out there it's just that I can't be bothered sharing if 80% of the people who ask are being an ass afterwards or ask stupid questions that google has a very obvious answer to.
  18. Retro convention in Nuremberg today and like always with these kinds of events it is a pretty wild mixed bag. Frogger Beyond is missing the manual but was the biggest purchase regardless as it is one of the rarest games in the PAL Gamecube set. Perfect Dark is just the box and Breakthru! is missing the manual. Also really happy to see TurboGrafx games available as that just never happens over here. Edit: Also saw some stuff for sale I've never seen in person before. One guy had literally all the rarest PAL Mega Drive games it was nuts. There was also a CIB PAL Stadium Events and a CIB PAL X-Zone for SNES which is one of the rarest PAL SNES games to get complete.
  19. If you're almost there I'm not gonna take it from you. Still 58 stars short anyways
  20. Loved these back on NA. Will these be for NTSC sets or would a PAL set also qualify? Being from Europe it's basically impossible to get a full NTSC set and in general PAL sets are not that much harder or easier to complete than NTSC sets.
  21. Currently working on Mario Party starting from 0 of course. Up to 29 stars so far.
  22. Congratulations to Trump for being the first person to win both the Republican and the Democrat caucus in a state at the same time. Seriously though that was a clown fiesta. Like last time it should be so easy to beat out Trump in the election but the Democrats just can't seem to pull themselves together.
  23. FYI these are all PAL sets: Microvision: Pinball DSi: Hidden Photo PS3: Chaves Kart and Everybody Dance 3 (arrived at the same time) Not quite finished: N64: Still need the three AUS releases for the set; Snowboard Kids 2, Starcraft 64 and Major League Baseball feat. Ken Griffey Jr. N-Gage: Only Sega Rally left Videopac (Odyssey 2): Only Trans American Rally left Currently working on PSP, Wii U and Sega Master System
