How to store loose N64 carts in a tight space?

I've been looking a bit into this and I don't know the answer. The main concern is that space is tight, and so the desire is to use plastic containers that fit as closely as possible to the cart's dimensions, and ideally they also stack so that vertical space can be maximized, as horizontal is limited.

Does anyone have a recommendation for this cart type? The only thing I've seen recently is either classic storage bins from when the system came out (which are too bulky for their small internal space IMO) and 3D-printed stands, which may have visual appeal, but don't stack and furthermore offer little protection against dust/etc.

The dream would be stacking clear containers, flat-walled on all sides (no sloping faces which would waste storage space), with clip-on removable lids. If anybody has a lead on such a thing for N64, then that would be my personal best choice.

I've seen some people store their N64 games in these cart protectors:

And some people print out artwork to put inside the cart protector to make it look like a box.  However, it would be a much smaller box from the original game.  Basically a box that is just slightly bigger than the cart itself.  These look great on a shelf, and could probably be stacked to a certain extent.

I use the cart protectors from here and they are great!  They could easily be stacked if you so choose.

I've got mine standing up, I just slide them out slightly to get an idea where I am on the list of games since they're A-Z and I just look.  I'm using a 5ft tall and equally wide wooden 21 (pegs, moveable) shelf system from propac.  For the N64 space I made it super narrow so they slot in quite comfortably that way.  Too picky to bother making stickers for them, like leaving them as they're intended.

Looks great! What brand of cases are those? Specifically the ones with the colored handles in case I wasn't clear.

Oh these tubs are literally just like generic made in Taiwan tubs I pick up at my local hardware store! You should be able to find something similar in the States, I would imagine, they were super cheap like a dollar or two each!

I found a couple labels on some of them, not sure if this helps:

lol @Tyree_Cooper

@OptOut Looking on their site (chuang-ying.com) I'm not sure that they sell these in the US; At least, I've never seen this model in US stores.

Those do look nice though, so I'm inquiring to see what they say about shipping to US.

Oh, one thing I should probably note is that they fit 12 N64 carts in a neat row almost precisely. I bump that number up to 13 by including another cart slotted in next to them by on the side. You can actually fit a maximum of 15 N64 carts in each box if you also lay a couple on TOP of the row of carts, although I do not do that because I like to have easier access to the carts.

Also, some of the boxes I have are a little tighter than others, for some reason. Some of them you can slide the 12 carts in and out pretty easy, but some of them are really tight, even though they are all essentially the same size. So some of them I prefer not to have the 12th game jammed in so tightly, and instead just like leave it sticking up a little at the back of the row, as it puts far less pressure on the carts. But it serves the same purpose either way.

You could always just compact them down with a hydraulic press

This video is depressing.

Anyhow, @OptOut I appreciate the extra info. So far I haven't seen a better container that is also efficiently shaped and easily stacked, so I'll be curious to see if they can do any supply across the Pacific.

They have other shapes too; Maybe I'll do some investigation on measurements and see how they would look for other storage.
