    I am halfway through a trilogy about linked serial killings by Terry A. Del Bene and Stoney Livingston. Somewhat gruesome but an interesting read.

    Heh - this is not what is being advertised - it is not bakelite: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234388802225?hash=item3692a94ab1:g:~J8AAOSwE2Bh7Htx The set pictured is one that was made by a company called Missouri Plastics shortly after WWII - it copied (very likely an unauthorized use) a pattern from a Lowe's chess set that was actually bakelite. Unless someone filled the pieces with something they should be hollow. Actual value - maybe $35-$40 on a good day - maybe a bit more if the case was in good shape.

    I would suss out a value from ebay and stick it on craigslist. Hard cash on the spot and you don't have to worry about shipping etc. If it is a hot item there will be someone within driving distance that can come up with the hard specie. I really only have one long term bill I am working down - depending on how much lucre I conjured up out of this I would put it towards that bill - if the amount I got was in excess of that I would bank it.

    Sometimes that is the case - there are more and more cases of car jackings* (often armed) being reported that are thwarted by occupants of cars who happen to have their own arms. *There are more and more car jackings being reported. I don't know if the percentage of armed car jackings has increased or not.
