  1. Redid some displays and also got some pretty cool stuff in recent(ish) times. Dynastic Hero is among the most sought after games for the TG16 line in the US, Little Samson needs no explanation, the Analogue Pocket is beautiful, the two plushies were from Strictly Limited but I posed them near the most expensive game for them.. Aside all that I made a display for ROB and also added the elusive MK7 Club Nintendo trophies to the Mario Display, they never released in the US but I always found that regrettable. For those unaware, Burai Fighter for the GBC was renamed to Space Marauder and is very difficult to find, I should have paired it with the NES game as well for completions sake, but not a hard thing to do. I also added another spot for WATA stuff which I hope is the end tbh.

  2. Also I don't think I added these here, but this is my Working Designs set. I've actually had this one done for a long time, but I didn't have the slip cover for Exile as it's very uncommon due to just coming right off. I put it in a box protector to keep it in place and felt motivated to get the photo finally.

I know, you're right.... that's a great place to start. But... I'm sure I actually said those exact words to him. My original post kind of glosses over the conversation but as I mentioned I did ask him multiple times, in various ways, how much he wanted.

It was most interesting because it was like he was challenging me to offend him with my offer. 😅

I think I understand what you're saying... I mean, the fact that he couldn't pull together any working systems was not a good start, haha... But it was a small town video game store so I thought I'd give him a chance.

At that point, I WANTED to tell him to pound sand, but I was quite interested to see where the situation was headed.

      🙃

Phone autocorrected told to, to. Whoops, but you got the gist either way. I guess at this junction in the hobby I couldn't care less about dealing with scum sellers, I've always found it far less stressful to just work with reputable sorts even if it cost a bit more.

  4. I think it's a bit tough to say, mostly because while initially the cardboard boxes did go over plastic CD cases that also had the name and such, this later changed to including nothing but a clear plastic tray and the Hucard, assuming we're talking about the same thing. Initially I was debating on just doing those before I began years ago, but once I discovered many (like a lot) of the games only have those clear trays inside, it kind of became impossible for that to be acceptable. I actually have 'reproduction' cases for some games that never had them as well, but I've never heard of someone making a reproduction of the clear tray, would definitely be cool to have since I imagine I'm missing a few.

  5. Neat opportunity to post some stuff, I somehow just ran into someone willing to sell me the slipcover for Exile: Wicked Phenomenon which I never even expected to buy honestly, so if that comes in ok the only thing left I'd want is Dynastic Hero before I retire from TG16 collecting. I recently had my Duo repaired, so I've been spending a lot of time messing with this system lately.

  6. Something of a curiosity I've noted is that aside from the SNES and NES era of cartridges it seems pretty difficult to find information on what PCB's exist within each cart for different regions. You have excellent sites like https://snescentral.com/scanlist.php?region=USA&type=cart for snes, but if I try to find that for say, Genesis, Game Boy, etc, I come up short. Does anyone know of a good site for that, or perhaps a reason they think it's not as demanded for other systems?

I'm guessing your camera skews warmer where colour is concerned, so the saturation looks a little high on Final Fight Guy but otherwise, spacing and orientation looks identical to mine (I got mine from LaC about 5 years ago).

I don't have DK Jr. Math, so I can't speak to that one unfortunately.

Yeah it's a high color saturation shooter for sure, which I like since I'm one of those types, so if you notice a bit more saturated color that would be the camera, I could likely adjust the filters on it though if needed.

  8. Hey all, I have my own techniques for authenticating boxes typically and I do believe they serve me well, for the FF Guy box though It's a bit out of my element, and for DK math, pretty sure it's totally legit but it was expensive and I guess I'd like some reassurance from the experts, here are some pictures for you all to dissect, not the best condition but I'm satisfied enough if they are good, I do believe both are, but FF Guy is the one I just have no reference for. Don't worry all, I won't be spamming the site with this stuff, just been doing a lot of authentication, just finished my whole GB set which was a nightmare, baby steps.

  9. I don't, I actually never import as a cost control rule, though that also backfires in some instances for sure. I think the appeal is there so you can explore your taste, but everyone has to set a limit somewhere. Some want every NES/Fami game that ever existed, some want prototypes, billboards, stands, kiosk, it's really too varied out there to ponder this specifically. I collect on 50 or so systems, so I figure I have enough to tinker with!

Wow nice that displays well all things considered with Magical Chase, and I"m curious i any remaining could rate as well or better.  Not like there is a ton of them in the first place, let alone sealed such nice shape.  We likely all know the story of the troll decades ago who bought NOS of the title then drip fed them out for profit before the environment we're in sadly now, but still...a rarity.  Also I really don't remember those pokemon figures but those are pretty nice @goldenpp72 what's the story about those little gatcha/nfc toys?

Mine isn't sealed since that's definitely out of my price range, at least what people list them at is like almost half of my yearly wages lol. As for the figures, they were essentially Amiibo without being called Amiibo (I'm not sure which came first but it might have been them). Primarily I think they were sold at Gamestop and designed to hold data and such from a Pokemon Rumble game on the Wii U of all things.

I don't recall the exact timeline, but they always came off as Nintendo trying out the Amiibo concept before Amiibo came to be. You'd not typically end up with the display box in any circumstance but I snagged one with these at some point just because I thought it would look fun.

Yeah you jumped into a realm with this one where the human garbage factor hits a whole other level where throwing around 10k+ levels of cash to them is almost(or is) funny money, and they won't care who they lie to, hurt, or manipulate in wicked ways to deceive and connive into what they want.  That dude knew damn well it was legit and tried to sucker you into a paranoia attack to his benefit.  Good on you staying firm.  I'd almost say out the rat, but largely few here would run across that critter I imagine.

He has 19 negative feedback on eBay, harassed the seller and also has a reputation on a few groups based on some vetting I did and a few people who had insight, I get paranoid with big spending, but not paranoid when it comes to dealing with sketchy people 😛

@goldenpp72 Your images today between the Magical Chase and this here aren't working, dead link or pulls from whatever the storage is a gray box with a (-) through it because it won't display.

Thanks for the heads up, it shows up for me so it must be a cache thing or something, I'll look at it now. I tried to edit the link option, does it work now?

  13. So interesting story, after I bought it another person who tried to buy it from the same seller contacted me saying he thinks it's a scam.. so much so that he kept trying to buy it even after I bought it. Sent me voice messages and all, but once I showed him the clips still being in tact he seemed to back down I guess. I guess this game is in another region of collectable then I'm used to 😔
