  1. NES isn't as high on my list as others but it is a fantastic system still, the system is an interesting hybrid of the 'old way' entering into the new way when it came to gaming back then and I appreciate that a lot, but it also means things haven't held up quite as well as say, SNES or Dreamcast in my mind. I don't do full set collecting though so my interest is entirely on the game lineup rather than the collecting aspect.

  2. It's happened a bunch to the point I kind of expect it on certain things and usually establish contact with the seller prior, since I have a lot of business on eBay I can sometimes get them to press harder on shady stuff as well.

My first instance was Kid Dracula years ago where I won the item but it became 'lost', I was able to convince eBay to look into it and he got busted for doing an off eBay sale, still didn't get the game though. Anytime I'm dealing in high value stuff though I'll try to touch base first. With my recent buy of Amazing Tater I assumed people would be shady and I kind of got that air from the seller, but it's pretty bullshit when you win and then someone offers more even though you bid a lot more, it's the definition of unfair and stupid so I try to make it as unpleasant as I can from there.

    Awesome work!

I'd be interested in your list to compare with mine.  I'm also going after the full Atlus set (except also going after Japan because I'm crazy like that).  I'd imagine there may be some on yours that I don't have, and/or vice versa.

Nice CIB of Amazing Tater! I just have the cart on that one.  I'm assuming you also have Cosmo Tank for GB, but I know it isn't as valuable / exciting as the other three haha!

I know exactly what you mean - for NES I have the more obvious ones like Wacky Races, Widget, Rockin' Kats, and Golf Grand Slam, but then there are others like Friday the 13th, The Karate Kid, Xexyz, that are believed to have Atlus' involvement, but the documentation isn't great at all.

I have a bunch of Atlus games worldwide, but I definitely need more than 3 from the NA region.  Cool work there! Seriously would love to see your list and compare.

Sure I'll hit you up with a link to my sheet, if nothing else maybe we can exchange notes and see if we missed anything, there is a bit of stuff I'm not 100 percent on anyways so maybe?

  4. I had a kind of weird question that might fit this thread.. Has anyone done 'full set' for LRG and maybe decided in hindsight to give up and only grab stuff they really want? If so, did you regret it?

I've never been one to collect just to collect but I got the full set on Vita and PS4 up to now, and Switch of course, but I'm debating on selling stuff I don't care much for and slowing down on buying it since it's kinda stressful and expensive to keep up with.. Anyone ever have a similar thought and maybe not regret it?

As you know nothing is truly accurate these days but PriceCharting if you're into web based.

    App based (Free) GameEye

My preference is Collectorz which is a combination of Desktop, Web Based and App. It's not free nor do I want it to be because they roll out new features all the time and is by far the most flexible with three different data entry point. It integrated price data from PriceCharting but you can override the PC amount to what you feel is accurate if needed. I have used this now for 8 years and I rather pay the $30-40 a year or whatever it is.

I'm already having some issues using pricecharting, or maybe I'm missing something. I did my NES set and the thing is only calculating 271 games but I added almost 350. I hand counted them and there are a lot more than 271 games there.. Any ideas?

There is a date stamp on every collection page when it was last updated. NES hasn’t been updated since Daily Stats as of 2021-09-07 19:15:08 UTC

    The ship has long sailed.

Guess I'll need to work on moving things over, is Pricecharting the best one to use at this point?

It wasn't the last time I went to it just this past week.  I'm slowly transitioning my catalog to PriceCharting.com.  It's not as nice looking but it's definitely got a lot of features.

Anyway, as I move one console-set of games, I remove them from my GVN list.  It's more of a double-check process for me, so it's slow going but I'm almost half way through the process.

That said, GVN does go down a lot but it does always come back up.  It's up more than 80% of the time, and for my needs so far, that's worked.

I just mean it seems like the site is never.. Updated or anything, it looks like the pricing never changes.

Well, now I'm curious @goldenpp72: what Atlus games are you missing o_0?

If my list is accurate, Wacky races on NES, Power Instinct and a Soccer game for SNES, I might be missing a few stragglers on modern consoles but I don't keep too close of track on that until they stop getting games really. It's over 250 releases but it's a little tricky to go back to their NES era because they developed games they weren't credited for. The information is difficult to come by but I believe my list is pretty definitive and may even include a couple games they actually didn't make but are speculated to have been involved with in some loose fashion.

The two label differences are known.

The cartoonier "Bar" cart (the one in the middle) was the first release. The second "Clint Eastwood" or "Saloon" or "Red" cart is later. Bar carts are usually more desirable.

I don't recall ever hearing about the Red cart in a Bar box, though. That one might have been frankensteined, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah I figured it was known but I'm definitely curious if there is a difference in the manuals, and if there was ever a point where the cart and box were mismatched, I could live with finding a matching cart but if it ever came this was naturally I'd probably just keep it as is too you know?

  10. Hey all, so I recently got a copy of Gun.Smoke in and initially, I thought the box was really sun faded or something because it was entirely different from the cart, but now I've noticed there seem to be different carts, boxes, etc (not sure about the manuals) and figured someone here might have some insight? Is this pieced together, did it come this way naturally? Any information at all would be great, here are some images for some context!

Yo all those F4Fs. I've been humming and hawwing over whether I should get the croc Banjo. It's my favorite character in the game, super cute.

Super jealous of the setup, as ever.

He's very cute, I found him slightly scary to put together due to the wavy magic thing around him but it worked out, I think I prefer him over Mumbo despite the size/cost difference. I saw they are doing Grunty as well but I don't think I'll be partaking there, space and stuff 😛

I was gonna say….. ive seen your collection and no way in hell you dont have a case for keith courage 🤣🤣🤣

Do you still maintain the lists? Haven’t checked them in years I feel now.

Haven't really kept up on any list since the awards and such went away, heh. I have all the cardboard for TG-16 but I am still down 3 pretty nasty games that I'd like for it, one of them being the most obvious. One day maybe!
