  1. Heh, why did that not occur to me? Anyway, thanks, that's all I needed. I'll update here when Gamefaqs posts the new list up. In the meantime, here are the two pieces of hardware I've added to the list, for the sake of having that info on this site as well for posterity: NES Controller ("Dogbone" Style) - Control Pad (NES-039) - Box (NES-A-CE(USA-1)) - Manual (NES-A-CE(USA)) - Nintendo Super Power Club Poster/Advert (GP-NES-USA-2) - Nintendo Power Subscription Card (GP-NES-USA-1) NES Controllers (Standard 2-Pack) - Control Pad X2 (NES-004) - Box (NES A CL(USA-1)) - Manual (NES-A-CL(USA-2)) - 4 Player Poster/Advert (4PL-NES-US-1) - "Classic Challenges" Poster/Advert (GP-NES-USA-1) - Nintendo Power Subscription Card (GP-NES-USA)
  2. Do you know which code is on the Thrilla's Surfari Poster side, as that's the side that is distinct to this game? I'm assuming -2... Nevermind, I just saw your edit, but I'll wait till the end of the day to see if Doc chimes in before I upload the new list.
  3. I'm just about to post the updated list, but DoctorEncore, I need the code for the Thrilla's Surfari poster; right now the code listed in your post is an American Sammy one...
  4. Well thanks for everything you've done, Doc! When you first showed up on NA, you almost singlehandedly breathed new life into this dying project, and here we are a few years later with more titles in the NES library opened than unopened at this point. Good luck tracking down an SE in the future, and if you ever come across another NES title that needs "liberating," you know where I'll be. Looks like it's time to work on another update...
  5. You know what? That's probably the best move. I think that's what I would/will do...
  6. If you do open it, I don't know what section I should put it into... And nice one, Trifecta
  7. Ah, good old Nick Morgan. He got his from Adam Harvey (buyatari) for like $5000 or something like that in 2008...
  8. Yeah, get box protectors for CIB games and use binders and sleeves for loose HuCards, but for CIC?!? I've never really had an issue either. I actually have a full US set CIC (minus Magical Chase) and they all just sit there in their jewel cases unprotected. I've never considered protecting those end labels to be an issue, myself.
  9. That was Todd Rogers, not Billy, but yeah they did the same analysis to his DK scores and pretty much determined he cheated 100%, but hey, when you've got the right connections and threaten to sue....
  10. Good point; I just went back to the picture in his post on the first page of this thread and picked out the most expensive game I could see. And I was about to put Kickmaster or Bucky O'hare, but they're done too. Okay, how about Krusty's Funhouse?
  11. How well did digital distribution work out for Sega and Nintendo decades ago? Put things in perspective, man... it's 2020 now and our infrastructure is improving all the time. You'll see...
  12. I was just going to point this out, but the very last post in the thread beat me to it; if a bunch of crotchety old retro collectors and gamers are mostly okay with going 100% digital, think about how the rest of the general population is going to feel about it: less hassle up front means everyone's in. And furthermore, 99% of the videogame consumers in this world take whatever the industry feeds them anyway; right now it's just a matter of infrastructure, as has been pointed out...
  13. I have 47 issues of the NA ezine, ending in spring of 2017, which I think is all of them. They are all pdf's, ranging in size from 663Kb (Issue #1) to 27Mb for the biggest one. I was a writer for the first nine issues, so I ended up keeping them all. If anyone needs them, let me know and we'll figure something out...
  14. Nice ones, guys! I'm really looking forward to getting to 400 unique titles opened, as that is the "symbolic" halfway point for the US library, and it'll be really cool having more titles already recorded than ones still in need of confirmation.
  15. Awesome game. This game was so far ahead of it's time that it has a widescreen option and twin stick mode. Anyone who complains about the controls obviously doesn't know this game well enough to know that you can play this game with two analog sticks (one controller in each hand); and there are multiple options for how you can set up the two stick mode. Brilliant game that took pretty much everything to another level at the time and is still a blast to play today.
  16. Yeah, my condition standards in the early 2000's were nowhere NEAR the level they are at today. I hate having to buy titles I already own because a younger version of me didn't care that there was a giant crease on the side of box...
  17. I traded an old couch for a broken cocktail Space Invaders arcade machine once, a long time ago. I did get it working, but I sold it off when I got an upright SI, as having two of the same arcade game seemed rather redundant...
  18. The big ol' List has been updated, and I spent some time revamping the whole document to streamline some things. The biggest change is I'm now indenting variant entries when more than one entry exists for the same title to make it easier to find and identify which titles have multiple entries. Huge thanks to DoctorEncore and Trifecta and everyone else who keeps opening games... https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/nes/916386-nes/faqs/49943
  19. Very nice, Trifecta! We haven't had a first-party addition in a while, and it's always nice to see round seal entries as well. Don't forget to add the NP insert to your post (PMG-US). I've got so many hundreds of orphan inserts lying around, some more common than others, and it's always nice to know I can go and take two of the most common inserts in existence and add them to a game to make it 100% CIB. Anyway, it looks like it's time to put out an update.
  20. For me it's Final Fantasy II (US on SNES). The game is soooo stupidly easy that it's actually called Final Fantasy IV - Easy Type in the rest of the world. The real FF IV from Japan is fine, but the one we got in the US is like "baby's first RPG." I honestly don't know how Square could have thought that was the direction to take after giving us the most excellent FF 1 in North America. Then again, now that RPG's are mainstream over here and generally easy as fuck, maybe they made the right decision, speaking from a sales standpoint. But for gamers who enjoy a good challenge, FF II absolutely sucks.
  21. Oh, that Ghost Lion is nice! I'll post the contents to Asterix ( PAL B) here, and with one more submission I'll do another update. Asterix - Cartridge (NES-AX-FRA) - Box (NES-AX-FRA-3) - Manual (NES-AX-FRA) - Pink Epilepsy/Precautions Warning Sheet (NES-EPI-FAH-1) - "3615 Asterix" Poster (INF-AX-FRA) - Textured Black Dust Sleeve
  22. I commented in his Shadow Warriors II video, asking if he'd like to contribute. We'll see if he gets back to me. And that reminds me, I've got Asterix -FRA that I opened sealed and gave the content list to Mike years ago, and I see he never got around to adding it to the list. It makes me wonder how many other entries died on his old hard drive. At least that will be one more PAL B title on the list, if nothing else...
  23. Yeah, Samson was last year or the year before and Wayne's World was very recent too, opened by a guy who lives pretty close to me, so you never know what can happen. As for that Panic Restaurant, Mike and I went to a Classic Gaming Expo in Las Vegas in 2007 and Mike paid either $75 or $150 for a sealed Panic (I can't remember exactly, but it was under $200 for sure) and then he opened it for this list in the swap-meet room in front of a crowd and I remember everybody there knocking him for opening up such an "expensive" game. If only we had known! The best part of the story is that the mint Panic and Stinger and a metric ton of other mint former seals ended up in my collection when Mike decided to give up on his CIB dreams and go loose. Good times, good times... And yeah, the Stinger video is still on youtube, but Mike has it set to private. I can ask him to share it if you'd like
