  1. Sometimes I'll intentionally take a hit, so I can cross a more dangerous area like spikes/tons of enemies blocking a path easily. Does that count?
  2. NOOO that's like using Game Genie! Categories are fine until contradiction sets in and everyone starts arguing semantics. Music genres are the best example.
  3. I have to get another cart copy of Battletoads, as well as Ninja Gaiden.
  4. I did not, my friend. Not straight through. If I claimed to have done it I was full of shit and probably aggravated from playing for weeks with no success, lol.
  5. Yes! REAL cooks speed cook! Nothing else counts! Is that spatula a 3 screw or 5 screw?
  6. ...So you're saying SPEED RUNNING cooking?!
  7. Now that I agree with. I tap out after X4 or so. There's so many spin-offs and sub-series, it's a mess. Classic and X are all I need. Fire up that NES!
  8. You're arguing story as a basis for being bored, though; I'm all about the gameplay aspect. In that regard, every game has improved since 2. Who cares about the story? Peach gets stolen by Bowser, and Zelda via Ganon, every single game.
  9. Dude, even in the intro to the game itself it's obvious, lol. At least with MM4 you're able to believe it truly is a new villain until the very end. The animations in 6 are stellar. Gotta love that HIGH SCORE!
  10. I totally got Kirby's Adventure CIB at a yard sale in like, 1997 for $5. Also - MAN do MM2 and 3 play like crap after playing 4, 5, and 6 long enough.
  11. Ha! I was just talking about THQ on the NES with a buddy. For some reason Rocky and Bullwinkle always stood out; late '92 release.
  12. 1. Battletoads: I'm on the third to last level after all these years! 2. Ninja Gaiden: Stuck on that final boss loop STILL.
  13. The majority of Pokemon titles. I'll still play R/B/Y/S/G, but that's about it.
  14. Meh, it's somewhat challenging. More so than the latter entries for me. 6 is like butter.
  15. Winter is prog rock season full bore for me, so: https://youtu.be/dVv70dfoJtg
  16. SMB2 has its challenging moments. Nothing like MM1, though. Or most NES games TBH. I also love and play Friday the 13th on the NES regularly, so what the hell do I know?
  17. My first top loader was about $90 back in 2013 or so; I got this one for $150. Compared to some of the rough, beat up, dirty and incomplete offers going for $180-$225, I'd definitely say I got lucky here.
  18. It's certainly competitive.
  19. Agreed! I love that animation, as well as Wiley's Castle in 6 if you can't tell. Gorgeous sprites! I think my copy of Mega Man 6 arrives today!
