  1. I always thought this scene was really cute...I mean Scrooge does kinda have a point! Though if the charity collectors were out of a job as a result, wouldn't that count as being poor and thus there would in fact still be a need to collect money for the poor?
  2. Do I even want to know who or what this is? He looks like Don Mattingly in zombie form!!
  3. Well get whoever your second-in-command is, has him put the DVD in and say, make it so, Number One! Or after he puts in the DVD he can say course plotted and ready sir... and then you say engage!
  4. You might want to cover her eyes for this part...in this version Scrooge doesn't just fall inside a grave, no sir! Disney turns it up a few notches and has him falling into hell!!
  5. Fun fact: That was the final movie shown in our local original Malco theater...which I think was among the oldest in the country at the time! It opened on October 29, 1912 with the first showing being 1912 World Series highlights. January 19, 1989 was the final day, which showed Scrooged. New bigger theaters were built on our south side, and the original theater became Goldie's Best Little Opry House In Kentucky (it actually took them many years to get around to converting the MALCO lettering on top the signs to GOLDIE'S) then local celeb Beverly "Goldie" Payne retired a few years ago the old theater was bought and still used today by a local theater (stage play) group. On a sadder note, a few months prior to that our local drive-in theater (it was on the west side) was thoughtlessly burned down by vandals, and did not reopen.
  6. Yeah I said I hope we get to see some from this Christmas! sniff...I wish my mean apt would let me have more than one kitty...
  7. I wonder if we'll see some really kawaii kitty surprise videos this Christmas?
  8. You know in my kindergarten days (1985-86) there was this really cute clapping game/rhyme! Popsicle Popsicle sticks make me sick! Make my heart beats two for six! Not because you're dirty, not because you're clean... Cuz your mama caught you reading a dirty magazine!
  9. My personal favorite is Mickey's Christmas Carol (I can't find a free version of it on YouTube) and boy did Mickey get screwed in this version...in the original Cratchit gets a full day off WITH pay!! And he gets 2 1/2 shillings a day (or half crown)! This is my wife's favorite, or at least one of the top ones: Scrooge's Log...Stardate 41225.4... I think this is the first one with a female Scrooge...trigger warning at 22:30 for all my fellow cat lovers :,(
  10. Years ago I was able to get the color version on DVD...they did a beautiful job (especially the intro): My late wife was really into all the different versions of A Christmas Carol/Scrooge and this was one of her favorites...I honestly LOVE colorized films/shows as long as they do a good job. And I hope as the technology progresses we can automatically colorize any film without that weird purple effect (you might have seen them on YouTube).
  11. Here's one thing I always wondered, you know how with baseball cards a big deal is made about the player's "rookie card"? Well how come an artist's "rookie album" isn't seen in that way? I'm not saying it has to be worth more than the others necessarily but how come it doesn't have nearly as much interest? Here is ABBA's rookie album for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_Ring_(album) I also liked being able one Christmas to give my wife all the Carrie Underwood (her favorite) albums (CDs) released up to that time! I don't suppose any of you here to try catch 'em all (all the albums your favorite artist(s) ever released, at least the vinyl record ones)? And apparently (start at 16:00) back in 1991 there were people who didn't know what a record player was?
  12. A rather lonely Christmas for me sadly...obviously no presents... I mean I did get myself a little something last month from mysticstamp.com but that's just about it
  13. You know the expression "jack of all trades, master of none"? This is the most perfect example of that on the NES. See they try to have beat 'em up, light gun, and driving in one game...but ends up with a rather mediocre product over all. Though I suppose it can be worse when you try to put three genres of music into one song...
  14. And what are you prepared to offer in exchange for this request?
  15. What happened this morning was an outrage! All these people want to know...where in the world are your Carmen Sandiego computer games?
  16. What's the biggest manual that an NES or SNES game ever got? In terms of pages I mean?
  17. I always read while I'm going stinkies...and I wish I was rich enough to have a fancy "washroom"! All I get is a regular ol' bathroom...
  18. In the olden days we had these things called dirty magazines...even MegaMan in MegaMan Legends came across some! As much fun as it might be to look at and read them, someone might see you!
  19. Yeah I wish people knew that in my college days! Our then new library was very open air design which meant that if someone's phone went off, you heard it everywhere! And before church service (I was more religious back then) they actually had to remind everyone to turn off their phones. At church!! Seriously people need to show some basic courtesy and respect! It's like Aretha Franklin says...
