  1. Well I'll give my honest and fair assessment when I get to it circa 2026. Mario Odyssey is one of my favorite games of the last decade, so I think it's fair to see I can give kid-friendly games a fair shot. ...however, it will be judged again all the other JRPGs I've played. It's a levelled playing field as far as I'm concerned. Historical significance means nothing to me as we all know
  2. Counter: If you didn't "grow up playing it as a little kid, still wearing dem nostalgia goggles" you probably won't like it feel any especially strong feelings about it
  3. Has anyone here ever taken one of those tests to see how "difficult" of a person you are? Just saying, some people might be surprised by the results.
  4. The PS2 games are dirt cheap and sold like gangbusters. Unless you want the expanded rereleases. But even those were ported to every system that's come out since. The PS5 collection is $30 as we speak.
  5. You should pop in Rayman. I don't want to call it "delightful", but that word did spring immediately to mind.
  6. They listened. My twins love "stuffies." I may have to get this.
  7. This is where I mention that I got the true (I think) ending of Baba, and it took me like 70 hours. And I still didn't solve many of the optional puzzles.
  8. Shit gets real crazy later on. Like, real outside the box.
  9. There's some overlap there. If I chose Panzer Dragoon Saga, it's partially because I want to play it, and as of right now I don't have a lot of confidence that it will ever happen due to rarity and scarcity of being a low print game that seemingly will never be ported or remade. But otherwise, yeah, I'm on the same page for NWCs and Competition carts and what not. I'm in this hobby to play the games.
  10. I had already played through the likes of Final Fantasy III and Chrono Trigger when it came out. And by 1997, my eyes were on these things: The people who were playing Pokeman at that time were "little kids" in my experience. And then there was never any reason to go back to it. Gold comes out and I'm playing Baldur's Gate II. The GBA ones come, and my eyes are on Shin Megami Tensei III. The DS comes out and I'm buying Strange Journey. The 3DS comes out and I'm looking at all of the Atlus titles. The better question is, why play a Pokemon when so many better alternatives exist? To be clear, I have played Blue, but not for very long. So I don't count it. But I will get to it in the backlog challenge so I can finally check it off the list and get rid of it.
  11. We talk about those people a lot up here. Also, that dude is literally Tourette's guy:
  12. Rise of the Tomb Raider. Fun stuff. I gave it a half a point higher score than Uncharted 4, as I preferred the pacing more here, and appreciated the optional "fuck around and do things" stuff. And the tombs and challenges, and all that. By the end I was pretty content with it though, so it will probably be a year or three until I think about playing the final game in the trilogy. Bloodborne (9.5/10) The Witness (9/10) Tunic (9/10) Yakuza 2 Kiwami (8.5/10) Firewatch (8.5/10) Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (8/10) Bayonetta 3 (8/10) Rise of the Tomb Raider (8/10) The Stanley Parable (7.5/10) Resident Evil 3 (7.5/10) The Talos Principle (7.5/10) The Quarry (7/10) A Plague Tale: Innocence (7/10) Bravely Default (6.5/10) Pikmin 1 (6.5/10) Beyond Oasis (5/10)
  13. I'm most of the way through Rise of the Tomb Raider. Can probably clear the story tonight. Just started chipping away at Ace Attorney 3 in bed at night Chipping away at Trails in the Sky SC, which is gonna take forever. I'll get back to Walking Dead after I finish Tomb Raider. Maybe get back into Dark Arisen after that.
  14. Just kind of throwing this out there, but my work provides monthly appointments where you get scans and blood work that show your body fat percentage, lean muscle mass percentage, visceral fat, edema, grip strength, body/limb composition breakdowns, vitamin and cholesterol levels, etc. And it's all tracked so you can see how you're trending on every front. It is extremely useful stuff, and far better than just looking at a scale. If you can find local facilities that provide this type of service, I heavily recommend you give them a shot. And to be clear, this isn't the lower end stuff you might see in a gym.
  15. I own every one of those on blu Guess that let's us know where my Cannon fandom lies
  16. I've seen a lot of comments like this. Anecdotally, I got my 3DS within a year of launch, and have never had a hardware issue of any sort. And I've put thousands of hours into the thing. Like, many, many games that are 50-90 hour completions. But very few demanding action games. I ain't white knuckling the thing.
