  1. Good lord, standard copies are selling for this kinda money? Just checked and LE copies are up for 170+, damn Anyway, you are correct, US standard editions are y-fold sealed. So far, only the UK/Euro release of SMT Apocalypse has a shrinkwrap seal (sole exception being German release which is y-fold, but has that horrid USK label). Other 3DS releases like Devil Survivor or Persona Q released with y-fold seals for all regions.
  2. Man, prices are crazy indeed. I think I paid something like 45-50 bucks by using a coupon on that shop called eStarland. Glad I managed to pick it up back then, it´s not a style of game I usually play, but heard really good things about it.
  3. It will certainly come, SMT releases are still popular enough to warrant a release, despite Persona stealing the spotlight in recent years. This time around I´m thinking of trying to play it in japanese. My knowledge of the language isn´t that great to deal with the philosophical themes of the game, but it will be great practice nonetheless.
  4. Love sealed games, especially PS1, but haven´t been able to pick up new ones in quite a while due to focus on my SMT collection as well as real life stuff. I guess I can post here some of my PS1 games, but I need to take new pics of them. Only one I got a new pic right now is this (forgot to take it out of the cello bag I use to store it) One of my favorite games on PS1, soundtrack sticks to me to this day. Shame that the hangtab has yellowed over time, despite keeping it away from sunlight. When I´m able to move and settle into a new house I will see if I can do something about it.
  5. True, I have kept an eye on ebay to try and upgrade my Parasite Eve copy to a y-fold sealed one, but the few ones that popped up were too expensive. Fortunately for Revelations Persona I managed to get a y-fold sealed one, really wanted one for my SMT collection.
  6. My most unique game is this limited package for Digital Devil Saga released exclusively in Korea. Had to convince a korean seller on ebay to help me hunt this back in 2010, I think. He probably charged me much more than it actually cost, and I wasn´t sure he was actually gonna honor the deal, but the gamble paid off, I have never seen anyone else post about this release, even most avid Megaten collectors don´t know it even exists. Too bad the guy didn´t want to help me hunt other korean exclusive releases, to this day haven´t found anyone willing and the games keep getting rarer. Ah yes, for those who do not know this series, it is a Shin Megami Tensei series spin-off released in two parts, so this is the only official release where both games came together as a bundle. As far as I know there´s a also "standard package" released in Korea, which is part of this LE, but haven´t been able to find good pics of it. By the way, my pics didn´t turn out great, the seal makes it hard to do direct shots, too much reflection, so had to angle it a bit.
  7. There are other Squaresoft games that came with a shrinkwrap style seal besides FFVII. Parasite Eve and Brave Fencer Musashi come to mind. In fact, I don´t think I ever saw a Brave Fencer Musashi y-fold sealed, if someone else has seen or owns one, would love to see a pic of it.
  8. Ah indeed, for some reason that release came to mind and I ended up not thinking through what you meant before hitting the reply button, haha
  9. Figured as much, thanks for the confirmation. Didn´t quite understand your last sentence, did you mean to say there isn´t a SFC of Shadowrun? There is! Check out this link http://youkaizukushi.seesaa.net/article/214512084.html
  10. Amazing collection, congrats mate! The asian version of Shadowrun has box art and manual in english, right? As well as the game, correct? Do you know if that is the case for the japanese release?
  11. I bought some from retroprotection a long time ago, for some of my steelbooks and for my Lunar PS1 boxsets, really liked them. Last year I wanted to get some more for some special editions I own but seems they are not able to do custom sizes. Sales rep tried to help by offering some protectors they had for certain game console boxes, among other special sizes, but they probably wouldn´t be a good fit, so decided not to buy them. I wonder if I could make my own custom protectors, my dad once mentioned there are small laser cutting machines used for acrylic that might fit the bill, but never really looked into it. Once I sort out settling into my new home I might give it another go.
  12. Folklore and Heavenly Sword are early games I remember playing and enjoying it. God of War games are a must if you like action games, the first 2 games look amazing on it. Max Payne 3 is also pretty cool, had a lot of fun with it. Though you can also play it on X360. If you can handle slowdowns and graphical jank, Drakengard 3 and Nier are really unique games, superb soundtracks. Though Nier will get a remake of sorts for the PS4. If you like japanese RPG´s, Ar no Surge is a really cool game that blends visual novel and RPG mechanics. If you are interested in imported games, you could get the physical versions of Resident Evil games, known as Biohazard in Japan. They have english options so you can play without issues. I like that Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Remake (the first one that was released on Gamecube) have their own releases. Resident Evil Code Veronica got and enhanced port bundled with Resident Evil 4 port for the PS3, I played it and liked the updated lighting engine.
