  1. It's hard enough for me to complete games I do like, let alone games I don't like. That said, two games stand out as most disappointing (and I know I'll get hate): Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - First I'll say the game has wonderful graphics and music, and a few dungeons are some of the best in the series. But I disliked almost everything else about the game. I hated the intro, I hated the flying, I hated how big but empty the world was, I hated getting from area to area, I hated the motion controls when they didn't work (which unfortunately was about half the time), and the story was anticlimactic and overall disappointing. I didn't hate the game but I did feel like I had to force myself through the majority of it. I should never feel like I'm forcing myself to play a game. I don't think it's terrible, I'm glad I played it, but it's far and away my least favorite 3D Zelda. Final Fantasy XV - I'm a huge FF fan... Or I should say I'm a huge old school FF fan. I feel like the series took a deep nosedive after XII and never recovered. I honestly struggle to find anything good to say about this game other than graphics. The combat was mind numbingly dull, the characters were mostly insufferable, the music was not memorable at all, and the story was an absolute trainwreck. I disliked this game pretty much the entire time I played it. I kept hoping it would get better. It didn't. Then it just ended. It was short for an FF game but it felt half finished which is even worse than a long but complete game. I'm not even sure there's much of a story there at all. Worst villain in FF history. Worst combat system. Worst main characters. I honestly don't know how I pushed myself to finish it.
  2. It's good. It's iconic obviously. But I've heard it so many times in my life I just kinda drown it out when I hear it now. It's not bad but I'm just bored of it, like a huge number of other great songs that get overplayed. 7/10
  3. I thought it was overrated. People acted like it was the second coming of Jesus. Also it's not as hard as people say. You restart at the beginning of a screen when you die and you get unlimited tries. It would be very hard if you started further back every death or had limited lives. Like imagine you respawned 5 feet from the last spot you died and could do that infinitely, imagine that in any game you think is ridiculously hard. It makes it a hell of a lot easier. I thought the game was ugly but I'm also so over the retro pixel art movement. It's one thing to make beautiful pixel art but they intentionally make it look like an Atari game. The music was good though. 6/10
  4. Replaying Mario Galaxy, going for 100% for the first time
  5. Ranking the 2023 games I played: 8. Sonic Superstars - Fun game, nothing special, but if nothing else it's nice to get another solid 2D Sonic game. 7. Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - I really did not love this game and I can't place why. I think part of it is that I'm just too busy and if I'm going to play big games, I'm going to be very picky about which ones, and this one isn't it. I loved Breath of the Wild, but this one just didn't do it for me. I never finished it, and it's likely I never will, or at least not for several years. Disappointed in this one. 6. Final Fantasy XVI - Honestly haven't played too much of it, but I like it even if it doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy. I wish the cutscenes weren't 3 hours long but it's a good game so far and I'm looking forward to finishing it...one day. 5. Super Mario Wonder - Surprised by this game. I knew it was Mario, and with Mario you pretty much know what you're getting. But for once, in a very long time, 2D Mario felt fresh again. Not my favorite game in the franchise, and it was over WAY too soon. But I loved every minute of it. 4. Street Fighter 6 - Very fun, great new entry in one of my favorite fighting game series. Only thing I hate about fighting games is the DLC character packs, it ends up being quite expensive. Also, I suck at the game. But it's still great! 3. Diablo 4 - I was very hyped for this game and for the first few weeks I was hooked. Absolutely loved it. Then, I took a break and just..never went back. Part of it was because of life, and I'm just too busy for big games. Still, it's a fun game, I plan to go back to it at some point but who knows when. Sadly, it didn't pull me the same way Diablo 3 did, but I still think it's a great game. 2. Pikmin 4 - Absolutely no surprise to me, as I am a huge fan of the franchise. I was extremely excited to play this one, and it did not disappoint. It was lengthy, very fun, challenging in some areas, and memorable. Everything a new Nintendo game should be. 1. Baldur's Gate 3 - Far and away the best game of the year for me. Very detailed, fun, expansive, just an all around treat to play especially for someone who aspires to play DnD (though I never have and probably never will). One of the best games of the last 5 years, at least. Haven't finished it, but I definitely will..eventually. Other games I played but are excluded from the list: -Hogwarts Legacy - Didn't rank because I haven't played it much. I loved the little I did play but not enough to pass judgment on it. Looking forward to hopefully playing through it this year. -Super Mario RPG - one of my favorite games ever but it was so faithful a remake that I can't give it a pass and say it's a "new" game. -Advance Wars Reboot Camp 1+2 - More remakes of fantastic games but they're the exact same game as they were on GBA so I decided not to include them. -Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe - Port of a Wii game. Great game, but it's hardly "new" so I decided not to include it in the ranking. -Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection - A collection of a bunch of old GBA games. Not "new" so can't rank. Besides I barely scratched the surface of these. -Sonic Origins Plus - A collection of old games; not new.
  6. Never actually saw the movie, only played the game and knew it was based off the movie. But the game is one of the worst I've ever played.
  7. Best - Aladdin (Genesis) Worst - Cool World (SNES)
  8. The original is hard for me to play. It's just too damn slow. But I enjoy the remakes in FF Origins/Dawn of Souls. The remakes give it just enough QOL improvements and graphic uphaul to make it an enjoyable game. Original: 5/10, Remake: 7/10. I average it at 6/10.
  9. This is one of those game I've wanted to play for years, and one that everyone can't seem to believe I haven't played, but I will...one day. I really want to. There's just no time.
  10. Yes the whole selling point to Avatar when it came out was "see it in 3D!" And that movie spearheaded the 3D movie comeback which l honestly could've done without. When your only selling point is the graphics...for a *movie* (not even a game) but a movie... It's not going to be good. It's been a very very long time since I saw Fern Gully and I remember liking it as a kid. If I was a kid when I saw Avatar I might've liked it too. But I saw it several years after release, reluctantly, after several people basically convinced me to watch it. But it was genuinely hard to sit through. The first hour I thought it had potential. Little did I know it would drag on for 2 more hours. It's rare I'm so bored with a movie I don't even want to finish it but Avatar was one.
  11. Toss up between T2 and Aliens for best. I don't love Titanic, but Avatar was one of the most over hyped movies I've ever seen so I had to pick that as worst. Won't even see the new Avatar movie.
  12. This is one of those movies I never saw for the longest time, that everyone kept telling me to watch. Earlier this year I actually watched it for the first time. I thought it was okay. I gave it 7/10 here, I did enjoy it, but I didn't think it was anything special. But it's hard to deny the natural charms of both John Candy and Steve Martin.
  13. Jumping in on this thread because I started watching WWE again a little over a month ago, watching a ton of old stuff on Peacock, and following the current stuff as well. I was a HUGE fan from around 96 to 04 then started losing interest and stopped watching until I started watching again from around 2011 to 2013 but ultimately lost interest again. But I am absolutely loving watching the old stuff again. The new stuff...I really have no idea who I like, the roster seems weak and forgettable compared to when I used to watch. And all the different championships are extremely confusing. It seems completely unnecessary. But the actual matches are still pretty fun to watch.
  14. The list for me is virtually endless. But off the top of my head, Dark Cloud 1 & 2 are the first ones that come to mind. I love those games, I really do, but I never finished them. One day I plan on finishing them but the list keeps growing longer by the day.
  15. Oh, I do know of Deftones, never listened to them though
  16. Picking random games per letter: Animal Crossing (GCN) Banjo-Kazooie (N64) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) Diablo IV (PS5) EarthBound (SNES) F-Zero X (N64) Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) Hogwarts Legacy (PS5) Illusion of Gaia (SNES) Jet Force Gemini (N64) Kirby's Return to Dream Land (Wii) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch) NBA Jam Tournament Edition (SNES) Octopath Traveler (Switch) Portal 2 (PS3) Quest 64 (N64) Resident Evil (GCN) Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) Tetris Attack (SNES) Uniracers (SNES) V - Nothing for V! Wave Race 64 (N64) Xenogears (PS1) Yoshi's Crafted World (Switch) Z - Nothing for Z! As it turns out, missing games for V and Z. I used to have many more games - I've sold a lot especially in the last 3 years - could've had Zelda II and V-Rally to fill those gaps. The only Q game I have is Quest 64 and Octopath Traveler is the only O game I have. S games are the most numerous which is probably obvious.
  17. Sixth Sense is one of those movies that, the first time through it was one of my favorite first viewings of all time. Like if I judged the movie on solely my first impression it might be in my top 3 movies of all time. But it's not a very rewatchable movie, for obvious reasons. I guess most of Shamalayn's movies aren't very rewatchable, not in the traditional sense, because the big draw of his movies is the smoke and mirrors, but by the end of your first watch, the smoke has dissipated and it's not as special as it was the first time. Regardless, I still think he's a good director, I've seen at least half a dozen of his movies and haven't disliked any. So Sixth Sense is my favorite, but I really wanted to pick the Village, it's a very very close second place. I honestly loved it, and to be honest, find it more satisfying to rewatch than Sixth Sense. I lot of people hated it, I think because of the twist. But I actually liked the twist. Very unexpected. I chose Split as my least favorite but I should have chosen Signs, because although I didn't dislike it, I was the most underwhelmed by it. Split was good, but it didn't wow me like Sixth Sense and Village.
  18. I enjoy these polls because I can either vote for my favorite bands/songs to win but I also learn about new bands/songs I never heard of, which is what pretty much every song here is minus Papa Roach. Actually, I know of Avenged Sevenfold but couldn't tell you what they sing. But as it turns out I'm not a fan of any one of these songs so I chose almost at random.
  19. So it took me years to finally realize this but now is the best time for gaming. We have access to a ridiculous amount of games, old and new, playing on modern hardware is great. Still not a fan of the hour long install time / patch process but it is what it is. I still greatly prefer old games over new ones simply because it's what I know and I prefer shorter simpler games to anything big these days. I simply don't have time for anything big anymore. Perhaps due in part to retro game collecting skyrocketing in price, I'd rather just play a rerelease or remaster of an old game on a new console, if I have access to it. Especially if they add in some quality of life features like being able to save anywhere in games you couldn't previously. But retro gaming is no longer cheaper than modern gaming, if playing on actual hardware. Modern gaming is as cheap as it's ever been even with the $10 price jump in most new games. 9 out of 10 games will drop in price fairly quickly or go on sale, I've rarely paid full price for any game I've bought in the last 3 years. Point is, gaming as a whole is the best it's ever been. Even if I prefer old school games.
  20. It's not a perfect movie, it's not even a great movie, but I love it, always will. 9/10 I can't not think of this gif when my kid (or anyone for that matter) annoys me to death:
  21. Never been a fan of GTA. Closest I ever came was Vice City, which as it turns out I only liked the 80s theme of it, not much more. I understand why people like them, and if I had more free time I'd love the open world exploration of it. I know I did back when Vice City was relatively new. But the games just don't appeal to me. I gave it 5/10 which is probably harsh, because like I said it's a good game, just not for me.
  22. I'm embarrassed to say I consider myself a horror fan but have only seen maybe 1/2 of this entire list. I have seen many other horror movies, just not ones on this list apparently.
  23. The Conjuring (and Insidious) movies are some of my favorite horror movies in the last 30 years. Really brought horror back into the spotlight imo.
  24. It's no surprise at all the 80s has the best horror movies (generally)
  25. 6/10 I enjoyed it but took it for what it was, a short cheap no frills jump scare game. I didn't think it was bad, and it does make me want to play the rest of them. I saw the movie tonight and I thought it was mediocre, kinda cheesy. I recently played it on my channel for the first time:
