  1. Does anyone know where I can find scans of Nintendo supply catalogs? Also, is there any way to know what issues contained what catalogs?
  2. One more thing. Does anyone enjoy Yoshi's Island more than SMW? People are complaining about SMW being too slow, but Yoshi's Island makes SMW look like a speedrun. It's just so start-stoppy imo. Eat enemy, swallow, get egg, line egg up, throw egg, collect the little star dudes, repeat. And I think everyone hates Baby Mario in that game.
  3. I'm about to make the poll. I have the feeling SMB3 will win, but I think it will be close.
  4. Release date, sorry. I should have been more specific. Either down to the year or down to the month.
  5. Personally, I don't really care for the "I have this" feature, but it seems like something that a lot of people will want, so I still think we should implement it at some point. A "leaderboard" for adding to the database would be awesome! It sounds like a great "reward" for contributing info. You could have an all-time leaderboard and a weekly/monthly leaderboard. We should also add a date to each entry.
  6. Is that all Super Weekend stuff? Some of it, like the standee, seem to just be generic Star Fox
  7. I actually thought Alttp was insanely short. I played ALBW first, so maybe that has something to do with it, but I got through Alttp blindly in 5 hours, less than it took me to beat Link's Awakening, which I think is the better Zelda game. Link's Awakening just has was more diversity in its dungeons, gameplay, and bosses, and I loved the tropicial island setting and the trading game. And it's also the first Zelda game to have an actual story.
  8. So I just found out about the ugly, but cool, Starfox Super Weekend jacket given out to finalists in the Starfox Super Weekend competition. After doing some digging, I found out that there is more merch from the event. There were apparently Super Weekend branded pens, pins, shirts, the cart itself, and God knows what else. Does anyone know anything about these items or about the competition? I'm not looking to buy, but I am looking to find out more info and document it.
  9. I was just stating that the comparison if Zelda 1 vs Alttp is similar to Smb3 vs Smw. What about alttp do you not like? I agree it's overhyped, but I still enjoyed it over Zelda 1. Zelda 1 without a map was so fun tho... Zelda 1 without a map was as addicting for me as playing Dark Souls blind.
  10. I absolutely love Super Mario Bros 3, and it's easily one of the best games on the NES. However, I personally prefer Super Mario World-- more levels, more secrets, more powerups, 16-bit graphics, more attacks, and connected world map rather than individual worlds, Yoshi, I could go on and on. However, I've seen people who actually like Super Mario Bros 3 more. Why is that? Is it all nostalgia? Don't get me wrong, SMB3 is phenomenal, but it just seems to me like World improved upon the Mario formula in every way. It's like Zelda 1 vs Link to the Past, Metroid vs Super Metroid, ect
  11. Could you look into this more? Like, find region and dates produced? That would be a great help. @KokiriChild Feel free to add to the Google Doc. If you would like editing privledges, PM me. I would like to get dates, regions, and companies up for everything. But to keep this list finite, I will only be doing Nintendo candy. There are tons of PEZ dispensers and specialty candies that are based on Sega and Playstation characters, but that's something I don't really have any interest in at the moment. You can add them if you'd like, though.
  12. Yeah, I've been quite busy lately. @KokiriChild I'll add your stuff now.
  13. That is very true. However, I don't think it should be a priority atm. We have yet to even get the database up and on the site for easy access, let alone start adding features. Any tools in particular you're thinking of? I could totally model a collection tracker prototype around a certain app. It's not like I've got anything better to do
  14. I agree with @0xDEAFC0DE on this one. You already have that feature in so many other places that, while I agree it would be cool and convenient, it shouldn't be a primary focus this early on. But as I've said before, throwing ideas for features out to see what sticks isn't a bad thing, and it certainly helps to discuss those ideas to determine which direction we want to take this project in.
  15. We'll have to wait and see. If people start dropping dead left and right because Disney take the proper precautions, there will definitely be some sort of legal action.
  16. Well that's because it's hurting their businesses, and they seem to value profits over public health. All it takes is one good lawyer and a victim of the virus, and bam, lawsuits even worse than losing money because of closed parks. If people start dying because they went to church or went to Disney, and the lawyer can prove that they got the disease at that location, shit will start going insane.
  17. Fair point. I'm just baffled when I see how big the Switch and ps4 piracy scene is. There's even an emulator, Yuzu iirc, that can run certain Switch games in locked 60fps already. @Gloves
  18. Really? That seems like a surefire way to get demonetized. But regardless, it is true that it isn't promoted to the point of emulation. I mean, you have channels with millions of subscribers that are built around softmodding systems and emulation. Modern Vintage Gamer and MyMateVince come to mind, but there are some really big ones with 1,000,000+ subs that use emulation as their main content- how to's, tutorials, tips and tricks, showcases, reviews, ect. To be honest, I love that emulation opens up games to a new audience. Hardly anyone would be able to experience Pazer Dragoon Saga if that weren't the case. Nevertheless, it is a bit of a legal and moral grey area, but if the system has been discontinued and games are no longer being sold for it at retailers, then I say go for it. I was suprised to see the Wii was getting new releases as recently as last year.
  19. I didn't mean to come off as a dick at all but a lot of people seem to take an opinion as a sign of hostility. Sorry if that seemed to be the case. I just feel like that question could be better answered by the OP themself or on another, more niche site specialized around emulation. I hate to sound like an echo of @Nintegageo but yeah, I could've phrased my post better and could've been nicer about getting my point across. If the OP truly wants the best answer he simply has to test things himself. That's eight days to you, Scrobins. Newspapers? Not sure if you can even call that comparable.
  20. Are any of them sealed or are they all just CiB? Good stuff nonetheless.
  21. Exactly. Unless we want to go down the road of homebrews, I'm afraid we're on shaky ground. The NES was discontinued in Japan in 2003, but I'm not sure if that means anything if we're only logging NTSC games at the moment. But I'd love to get to PAL and JPN variants sometime in the near future.
