My first ever game of Mafia online on ScrewAttack Forums was Batman themed.
/in
Someone ping me when this gets close, I'm very AFK a lot lately.
I remember that game.
Notable for my role (Vanilla Townie) and literally everyone thinking I was Batman (who was a Third Party type iirc) and drawing all sorts of night actions til the Mafia finally just killed me on like N4 lol
Good times lol

This was pretty awesome. Thanks for posting!

Damn, thats the craziest typo ever. No idea why my brain wrote September.
JULY 23, as in one week, not September.
I was about to be like
and ask if you are all right KC, do we need to send some help? lol
just blame ZeldaFreak and ZeldaFan and getting them mixed up... does it have anything to do with it? No, but at least that's what I would do lol all that crazy Zelda cross fanboyness- 4

8/10
Great game though I like DKC 2 and 3 a lot more. 2 might be a 10/10. 3 at least 8.5 if not 9

I thought the blindfolded Super Mario 64 run was pretty amazing!
It is pretty darn great. Tagging @Jeevan as I know how much he adores this game

Necro posting here (as was looking for a different thread) to say I totally just noticed that this thread is "#64" in the movie discussions. Well done @Reed Rothchild lol

In the context of the OP, Sony Nintendo and Sega were still around but then "vanished" being bought out or something?
I feel like just naming another console.company as "taking over" wouldn't be sufficient. Unless I'm missing something you'd probably see the likes of Miyamoto and other luminaries in the industry just cropping up elsewhere.
Certainly Atari would've been the go to. Companies like Microsoft or Apple in the US would've probably gotten into game much more and much sooner then they would have. Maybe even companies like Samsung or something elsewhere in the world.

Not necessarily unexpected, but still nearly unbelievable. As much as I love video games this is still ludicrous. At some point just get a nice quality print of the box art or something if that's what you really want. It's really strikes me as just wasteful

I was pretty happy with the GTA III run by KZ_Frew. Love his sense of humor.
I'll definitely check that run out

4/10. I like this much less then Mario 64, as there's just too much shit to collect and nothing to ever really keep my interest. I did enjoy watching friends play it more then ever playing it myself.

6/10
It's not a great game by any means, but points for memes lol. Was best in the 6 in 1 pack in that included the superior Golden Axe and of course, Sonic 1 lol

Actually I thought the Golden Gloves was pretty much spot on, lol! Got it in one @RH!
Or how about... The Opty's!

- Golden Gloves
- Veggies
- Silver/Gold/Platinum Cart(ridge)
- Purple Ganons
Golden Gloves makes me think of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Gloves
A quick google seach also reveals a movie and something to do with Soccer shenanigans lolOn 6/17/2021 at 12:48 AM, OptOut said:That was actually one of my inspirations for doing this whole thing, lol, so it could EASILY happen dude!
I definitely want awards for:
- Thread of the Year
- Best artistic contribution
- Gamer of the Year
- Pick-up/haul of the year
- VGSer of the Year
Those are staples, but I also really want some more humorous/light hearted categories too, like Dumbest post of the year, Meme champ, etc.
On 6/16/2021 at 11:23 AM, RH said:Let's not kid ourselves, 90% of those awards are just going to go to @CasualCart.
That's why one of the categories is the "Obligatory Annual @CasualCart Appreciation Award" where we just shower him with all the praise he deserves
Real talk all those above categories are top notch. I can't think of anything to add off the top of my head
Opty's would have be the meme/humourous awards
Actually one addition; Werewolf awards as @Gloves seemingly won't ever get those done himself otherwise

The Sagies
The Purple Gannon Awards
The "Whoever our mascot is" with a "ies" after it?
"Sagies" makes me think of the SAGYs (Shitty Ass Game of the Year Awards) that ScrewAttack used to do lol https://www.destructoid.com/the-nominees-for-screwattacks-first-annual-shitty-ass-game-of-the-year-awards/
On 6/21/2021 at 1:33 PM, Jeevan said:nope. This should not be allowed! We all know gloves will win hands down .
Also, maybe a golden sage statue from @CasualCart with the year for the award? as a bauble/charm
I second this. "Sage Awards" or "The Sages" with a golden Sage icon all the way

I was happy to see Amagon being run this year for the first time at a gdq
Like many of the comments, I'm pretty sure I saw/played this game in my youth. Maybe not the most, but this game is a bit of a fever dream lol. Also a solid run and great to see a Japanese speedrunner on GDQ

How I feel about Ocarina of Time is a lot of how I feel about Super Mario 64
An excellent game for it's time, some of the best as far as "Proof of Concept"...
But basically every 3D Zelda game afterwards has done it better in every way.
Majora's Mask is the better overall Zelda game, imho

Real Life things got in the way and I forgot til Tuesday that SGCQ 2021 Online is currently going on. There are some pretty good runs going on.
Watching the Pokemon Black vs White Race atm, and it's a good watch.
Anyone else been catching it this week?

I sometimes hear about these supposed "western" RPGs but I don't see anything western about them at all...no cowboys/cowgirls, no horses, no six-shooters, no general stores, no saloons, no pretty saloon girls...
If you want some "Wild West" flavor in your RPG I would highly recommend Wild ARMs, the original on PS1 is a solid game... and also a JRPG

Why play the originals first when you have the PS1 versions? I'd really like to know. Normally I'm a proponent of "original versions" of games, just to see where they came from, but the PS1 remakes of these games are done so tastefully that I don't see them doing anything that upsets the balance of the MegaCD ones. With the same logic I'd also say if you have the GBA versions of FF5 or 6, it's a perfectly fine idea to play them before the SNES originals.
Agree with this. The PS1 version was what I played and to my knowledge is the best version.
YMMV but there are GBA and PSP version which are faithful remakes/rereleases of the game as well.
There is also apparently a PC version released only in Japan and South Korea, which kinda begs the question why we haven't seen a PC/Steam release yet

I don't do online only games, so I can't do FF11.
I meant FF6 (FFVI) and Mistyped X instead of V, my bad lol

Playful pedantry semantics aside, the fact that Lunar games hits all of the hallmarks of "standard JRPG" with turn based battles and set party of characters in a linear, progression based story, then I don't know how else you would describe it in one word/acronym

Anyone out there that would be interested in being a replacement please PM me and/or @Jeevan (preferably both lol)

Don’t know about the differences between the 2 versions but I played them both on PSX and it was an absolutely fantastic RPG experience. Graphically very 16 bit but the cut scenes are pretty good. Great story and I never felt like it got bogged down.
I will second this. If you like classic JRPGs like Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger, then these games are right up there.

7/10
I enjoyed the game a lot when I played it, but really have no desire to go back and do it again lol
Also fond memories my friend with his completely broken save where he beats Yu Yevon in one hit with Yuna's staff doing over 100k damage lol

8/10 because while it was gimmmicky, it did the gimmick pretty well and Wii Sports is a lot of fun.
Also for the Virtual Console

I've been on a Pokemon kick last few months
Trying to collect all the Pokemon games between Gen 4 and current Gen I missed without spending all my savings on it lol (which if any of you have been following Pokemon DS prices recently... you will know that's a challenge)
I have all the 3DS games now, and got Platinum and Soul Silver (previously had Diamond, Pearl and Heart Gold for Gen 4, only White for Gen 5).
Beaten Ultra Moon, X, and working on Platinum currently. Even had gotten Let's Go Pikachu and beaten that lol
BTW anyone got Black 2 and/or White 2 and be willing to sell them, let me know lol
