  1. Been super sick these past couple weeks. Finally sat down and got through Fighting Street this morning though. Had to figure out how to cheese each character since the AI in several of those fights is inhuman. Did all 4 loops to get the different Airplane ending too.
  2. Tried out Fighting Street this morning. Got nearly the whole game down easily except for Sagat. He's brutal and I havnt figured out a good method for him yet. Looks like it's gonna be a 4 loop game though so I'll need to figure out something somewhat consistent
  3. This is one I've always meant to play through so it was nice to finally see it through. Fairly clunky game to navigate, but it was bright and interesting and pretty dark at times. Happy to finally have experienced it.
  4. Super fun super easy power fantasy game. The voice acting and dialogue was hilarious and there was a surprising amount of game to play. I thought it was going to be over a full hour before it actually was.
  5. Finished up Valis III this morning. Got stuck real bad on the water stage in the middle of the game last night. Little 2 minute stage probably took me an hour and half combined tries from last night and this morning to finish up. Gameplay was an improvement over II, but the soundtrack and some of the level design was a step back.
  6. Valis II was a quick run through in about an hour. Was a great follow up to Dungeon Master. Game itself is fairly shallow and easy, but man that soundtrack is amazing. Really great stuff and no bad tracks during the entire game. I've got some expectations for Valis III now so hopefully it's a good follow up.
  7. Finished up Dungeon Master Theron's Quest just now. Most of the dungeons had a very annoying quirk to them that was far more frustrating that it needed to be. That aside I do like the format of a dungeon crawler tackled in bit-sized chunks. This just had some very annoying dungeons. Thankfully the final dungeon ended up being by far the easiest and most straightforward so I figured it out on my own, first try, in 30 minutes.
  8. Got super stuck on the dumbest gimmick on the 3rd dungeon for a long time. Once I figured out that "run and jump" actually doesn't mean either of those things the rest of the dungeon was easy.
  9. Got stuck pretty bad on the 2nd dungeon for the past couple of days. Finally figured it out today. Hope the rest aren't as ridiculous. It was good to learn the game though. Since I was stuck I tried EVERYTHING, and read the manual multiple times and forced myself to figure out the magic as well which I ignored the first dungeon. Learned a trick that you can use a full water pouch as a Boulder if you need to weigh down a switch which was helpful.
  10. Started Dungeon Master Theron's Quest yesterday. Finished the 1st of the 7 Dungeons. Not sure how complicated and long they get, but I feel like I'll be at this one for a while.
  11. The last couple loops are VERY tough since you have to do multiple stages back to back to progress. First 2 loops are fun though
  12. Finished JB Harold Murder Club today. I've played some decent table top murder mystery style games and so I was into this for the first few hours. It's WAY to precise in the order of operations to be much fun though. At first you have a lot of freedom in how you gather your information, get new evidence and make arrests and interrogate suspects, but after a while you get bottlenecked into finding a single piece of information to move the rest of the game along and that just involved talking to every single character about every single possible thing. And then you just hit those kind of bottlenecks a ton near the end of the game where it is no longer about figuring things out, but just running through lists because you need a specific event to trigger.
  13. This looks so familiar. I've got no good guess though. Very eager to see what the answer is.
  14. Finished Exile Wicked Phenomenon. What a miserable experience. Super unbalanced game and not at all fun like the first one. And the music wasn't even that good either. The only saving grace was this wonderful cutscene late into the game:
  15. Just took down a boss that was a literal 20 minute fight. It was my 4th attempt. This game is a grind!!
  16. Been playing Exile Wicked Phenomenon and holy crap is it hard. I googled it and the Hardcore gaming 101 page came up and explained the issue I was having. Apparently they accidentally made it super challenging when localizing it by changing the enemy values and it was too close to the end of production to do anything about it so they just shipped it as is. I was looking forward to a relaxing time like the first one.
  17. I haven't looked into this any further. It was just a curiosity at the time. I'd still be interested to know more if anyone comes across anything.
  18. Amazing work on this! Love your dedication to helping others through tough games like this!
  19. I adjust my mindset. For some games that I'm not vibing with I'll focus strongly on just one aspect that I really like (maybe music, or the battle system, or the scoring system and I'll squeeze what joy I can from that). I also find it valuable to play things that you don't like from time to time to better appreciate the things you do like. I gives me a better perspective on why I do and don't like certain things. And sometimes for a particularly long game that I'm not super into I feel like I've gotten some form of Stockholm Syndrome and after like a dozen hours I suddenly start enjoying myself. It's like "this is my life now I guess, better make the most of it I guess"
  20. Depends what I'm in the mood for on that particular day. Could be any of these: Mega Man X Lords of Thunder Octopath Traveler 2 Digital Devil Saga 1/2 Ninja Gaiden Street Fighter II
  21. If you want to call out a few games I'll make sure to leave them for you.
  22. So I was like 10 minutes from the end when I made that last post, lol. Had a little bit of time so I turned the game on and I had it saved right at the end. I love working designs stuff so this was a fun one for me. Exile was a very short and simple for an RPG, but it has that WD charm and as usual a pretty decent soundtrack. Got me hyped up for the sequel too!
  23. Got very far into Exile today. My character's level is maxed out and I've now got the best equipment that is mentioned in the manual. Feels like I'm closing in on the end soon.
