  1. Bonk's Revenge is done now. Same as the TG16 version. I like that they didn't try to change the games a bunch like in Super Mario All-Stars and just left them as they were. Those SNES versions of the NES Mario games always drove me nuts for not being quite right.
  2. Other than the fancy game select screen prior to playing the game Bonk's Adventure was exactly the same as the TG16 version. Still kind of meh
  3. Breaking the seal on this thread with Jack Nicklaus' Turbo Golf since it was still fresh from beating the TG16 version. It is essentially the same except for the saves are even better. On the TG16 version if you save it'll restart you at the beginning of the hole. In the Turbo CD version it saves right before your swing so you could theoretically try as many times as you want until you get the shot. Jack still isn't a very good golfer though in this version so you shouldn't need to rely too heavily on the saves. There are also voice clips before each hold describing a key feature of the hole and some actual music during the game too.
  4. Last spreadsheet update with the remaining goals to be updated: Aero Blasters - Defeat the Mecha Load Master (Stage 6) Alien Crush - Earn 999,999,900 points Battle Royale - Beat Tournament Mode on Professional Difficulty (15 bouts and Championship Match) Bonk's Adventure - Defeat Evil King Drool Bonk's Revenge - Defeat Evil King Drool III Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure - Defeat Evil King Drool III Davis Cup Tennis - Win Davis Cup Mode Dragon Spirit - Defeat Zowel (Stage 8 ) Dragon's Curse - Defeat the Vampire Dragon Dungeon Explorer - Defeat Natas Jack Nicklaus' Turbo Golf - Beat the CPU in a match Psychosis - Defeat the Devil Ugar in the 2nd loop of the game R-Type - Defeat BYDO (Stage 8 ) Space Harrier - Defeat Valda (Stage 18) Time Cruise - Earn 99,999,999 points Yo Bro - Beat Stage 30 (5th San Francisco Stage) and then can either win or lose during Robocop bonus stage
  5. Toughest were definitely R-Type and Alien Crush for VERY different reasons, lol. Lots of fun ones. A few favorites were: Soldier Blade Raiden Tricky Kick Victory Run Splatterhouse Galaga 90 Bloody Wolf Neutopia II Cadash Turbo CD is definitely something I want to tackle this year. Also Sega Master System and Virtual Boy. Not sure which order I want to attack those just yet though.
  6. Thanks so much! It's been a super fun and interesting library to play through.
  7. As of just a few minutes ago I've now beaten every single North American Turbografx 16 game on original hardware and a CRT! All 94 games! That's NES and TG16 down now. What console will fall next? Here's my youtube channel if anyone is interested in checking out gameplay from any of the games: https://youtube.com/@2000Crabmaster?si=upO92y1vJFBR7r4s
  8. Played all three Bonk games back to back to back. I'm kind of lukewarm on the first one, but they definitely get better as you go through the series. Good ones to end on! So with Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure done that is the entirety of the TG16 library!!
  9. Jack Nicklaus Turbo Golf is done. They let you save after each hole so its super easy, but even then Jack kinda sucks a lot of the time. Half the holes he would just crank it out of bounds or right in front of a tree. The game is awful just like the NES one where it has to load in all the scenery so you have a lot of waiting around before you can actually play the game. And the putting is very bad. There's no actual ending so here's the final scorecard before it loops back to the title screen.
  10. Tedious. Just have to do a ton of cases to get the ending.
  11. I've only got 4 games left on my personal list now too. Gonna line it up so that when I finish my last game for this list it'll also be the last game I need to finish for the entire library. Should be some easy ones so can hopefully finish it up this week!
  12. Davis Cup Tennis has super rad title screen music though. Couldn't find the TG16 version, but the PC Engine CD version is even better:
  13. Davis Cup Tennis is done. When you beat Championship Mode it gives you a quick trophy ceremony and then the same credits as beating Davis Cup mode, but then it starts you at the beginning of Davis Cup mode instead of the main title screen which is what happens when you beat Davis Cup mode. Championship Mode was SO much easier than Davis Cup since you only play singles. In Davis Cup you also have to play doubles matches and your teammate is just the worst. You essentially have to play against 2 CPUs by yourself.
  14. Beat Davis Cup Mode in Davis Cup Tennis. Just want to try Championship mode as well before calling it beaten since I can't find any videos showing if it has a different ending or not
  15. Alien Crush gives much less in points and has no saves or passwords like Devil's Crush. Getting extra balls in Alien Crush is a long procedure of loading up the Aliens eyes before entering its mouth (or the shell thing at the top if you can light all his eyes too). Table also isn't quite as complex. And the music loops after like 20 seconds which kind of sucks when you have to put 27 hours in. Think I had about 15 hours into Devil's Crush, but like you I could save scum so it wasn't hard.
  16. Got it done!! Alien Crush is beaten and was a very unique experience. What a ridiculous goal to beat a game that has like no tools to help you get to that goal. Just checked my videos for my total play time over the last 4 days. Just over 27 hours of gameplay to finish Alien Crush. Pretty proud of my old TG16 console for chugging along for 4 days straight without any issues at all. Was a pretty mentally grueling thing to do. Very glad I'll never have to do that again.
  17. Just grinding today for as much as I can before getting the kids and work. No scares today and kept my extra balls at 6 at my lowest. Paused again at 800,000,000. Not sure I'll have time to finish today. Might have to keep it paused over night once more and try to finish tomorrow.
  18. 650,000,000 for today. Getting to tired to trust my reflexes so it'll have to stay on overnight again.
  19. Trying to barrel through as much as I can. 590,000,000 now. No near misses. Feels live I've got a decent handle on it now.
  20. Every time I'm ready to take a break and pause I have to use a ton of mental effort to fight my urge to turn the machine off when I shut my TV off. I don't want burn in on my CRT so I keep turning it off when I'm paused, but I've always shut them off together so I have to fight that muscle memory. I also have a new fear that I'll hit run and select together by accident and reset the machine. No low ball scares this time. Roughly 520,000,000 point now.
  21. Another 9 ball to last ball scare and now paused at 480,000,000 with 9 balls. This game is going to turn my hair white, and give me a heart attack and an ulcer
  22. Couldn't sleep so I got up super early and put 4 more hour in. Had a moment where I was down to my last ball and was able to turn it around again. Extremely stressful. Now paused at just under 400,000,000 with 8 balls
  23. Thankfully was able to recover myself. Currently have it paused at 250,000,000 with 9 balls. Gonna have to leave my system on overnight and do what I can again tomorrow. Super worried about the system freezing or some kind of power outage. Even with all the NES game I've beaten this is a new kind of tension. When I was down to 2 balls left I was so stressed. I've restarted long RPGs or Strategy games after putting a dozen hour into them, but when it's a game like this with no safety net (saves/passwords/warps) it's a whole new kind of stress.
  24. I'm at 172,000,000 and I just lost all my balls but 2. Got it paused and just need to step away for a bit I think. If I lose it here I'm gonna need some time to regroup. I think I'm about 5 hours in
