I could have gone either way, but I really haven't listened to them in a while so I went the conservative route.

Not one of my favorites, but damn they ARE everything I think of when I think of metal.  Truly the soundtrack to hell.  9/10

I went with 4/10 because it best matches my thoughts on Slayer. Besides a few bands, I really can’t get into US metal. I’m more of Scandinavian/UK metal head. Dave Lombardo is an amazing drummer though.

I gave them a 6. I don’t really listen to metal at all anymore, but saw them live in the 90’s and it was a great show.

Great old school thrash and an icon of heavy metal in general. But they suffer from that "if you've heard one song, you've heard them all" category. Still really great,  though they don't stand the test of time.

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one thinking that. They're great, but they seem to lack whatever it is that makes you want to listen to them more.

Kinda between a 5 and 6.  I don't really go out of my way but I'd see em live.  

Fun fact: My punk rock band played a show at a local bowling alley 15ish years ago and someone  thought it would be funny to put Slayer on the flyer and poster.  They were actually in town that week so it was plausible if not entirely improbable.  Ended up being a really great show and a bunch of people showed up including some engry but good natured metal heads.
