5/10's description is my exact feeling when it comes to FFX.

It gets more hate than it deserves, or at the very least its haters are more vocal than others. When it came out, it was a must-play and it is a very competent game overall. But it's not memorable to me even if I had an okay time playing it.

I don't finish most JRPGs I play unless they really captivate me. Usually there's a point 2/3 into any good RPG where I'll just lose interest and move on to something else. It happened with FFX, but I don't fault the game for it.

The voice acting wasn't good that's true, but I find most voice acting in video games to be subpar. Even in 2021.

There are games out there that have really shitty VA and that get plenty of love (looking at you, Legend of Dragoon) so maybe it's just that people expect more of a top notch franchise like Final Fantasy.
