Right, so I'm BASICALLY there... partial success! The mod is installed, and the file system is correctly formatted!

HOWEVER, I think something is wrong with the ISO I made. I just got one file to test, downloaded Battle Chess, but it was the wrong thing, like a disc image file? I downloaded a converter to change it to ISO but it's not reading, just showing the insert disc splash screen:

So... Essentially, we're like 80% home, just gotta figure out this ISO shit and then I can play some GODDAMN Gex or Battle Chess or whatever! 😄

(Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, I AM going to put the front disc tray door back on the front of the thing when I'm finished to make it look nice again!) 🙂

I'm glad I could help a little bit, but you will need a smarter person than me to figure out the last part.  I hope it works for you.  Don't forget to play some Road Rash, NFS and PO'ed.  Also, Casper is a pretty fun port that has gotten pretty expensive.  Alone in the Dark doesn't run very well on the 3DO, but it's still a game you have to at least try out.

It WORKS!!! Finally got my act together with converting the BINs to ISOs!

I'm gonna go through the 3DO library and **COUGH** legally back-up my USB with legally acquired 3DO games, using legal means and for the legal purposes of historical preservation and/or satire ONLY **COUGH**

This is fuggin AWESOME! 😎

Oh, and @fcgamer, looks like Xmas dinner is officially back on:

Hahaha, it's funny dude, I was asked to attend the company dinner that same day. You should have let me know about your 3do progress earlier 😢

Oh damn, lol! Why are the Gods trying to keep us from having Xmas together, lol?!

Oh well, I promise to keep the Battle Chess warm for you anyway, ha ha ha! 😉

Well whadda you know?! The crazy "Russian" held up his end of the bargain, two months to the day here it is!

Now all I gotta do is figure out how to fit it, and where to get some 3DO games to try it out! 😅

Also, turns out he's from Belarus, NOT Russia, so all my dox are safe... Probably... 🤣

Back in my days of cryptocurrency, I worked a lot with a couple of teams hunting bugs in code and making suggestions on closing security gaps, and improving algorithms.  I worked with a couple "Russians" (as in, some were from Russia or other Russian-speaking areas, but they were Russian to everyone else.)  There were basically two kinds in our little niche corner of the internet.  The ones that were super-sharp, beyond brilliant and ate, slept, and breathed computer science and cared about making something world changing, and there were those that ate, slept and breathed computer science for greed and exploitation.

And that's not a joke.  I saw this one guy take down eBay (I kid you not) for about 60 seconds, just peacocking and showing off how big his DDoS botnet was.  But, there was also another guy who created Iota.  I worked with that team a good bit bug hunting in it's early days, and trying to make suggestions to their underlying algorithm that they were working through.  My Iota days were the end of my crypto fun, though.  The team was great to work with, but I got tired of being around all of the drama and theft of it all in other areas, so that's why I sold off my stakes and backed out.  The most fun part of that experience though was meeting a bunch of truly brilliant people from across the globe.

Finally, the full mod and installation into my set up is complete!

After loading up the USB with a bunch of crappy FMV and porno games, it was time to mount the USB internally.

This is NOT easy or convenient once the system is fully assembled, but a handy pair of rusty old pliers got the job done!

Now, all that remained was to reattach the CD tray faceplate. This was originally attached to the CD drive, and without that there's nowhere to stick it back on...

Now, a lesser man would probably custom print a 3D bracket of some sort to snap on to the case, or perhaps an new faceplate in its entirety. However, I can't be fucked with any of that nonsense, so I simply stuck a couple layers of cardboard together with double sided tape and wedged the fucker in:

And there we have it, job's a gooden! 😉

Time for me start making obscure, would never be on that USB, recommendations.  However it will be the slowest drip, once a quarter.  Enough time for you to keep sealing up that tray each time. 😈
