Fancy microscope you got there.

I actually got it for free because it was shipped damaged (some epoxy made it usable) and Amazon refused the return and just gave me the refund.   I kept telling myself that it'll be OK to buy it because I'll use it for decades making repairs to electronics as a fun hobby.  I still need to clean up the workshop so I can get organized and start restoring the 3 PS3s I got disassembled and in piles sitting on top of piles of other shit.

You guys are all professional and stuff.  Here's one from a few years ago that probably more closely resembles many of us here (maybe).  I think I am converting a Golden Tee plug and play game to work like a USB mouse in this picture.

And here's how I worked on my Revenge from Mars Pinball table when I owned it:

The worst for last - here's current.  I fried this front loader and need to investigate if it is just the 7805 or something more serious:

I was gonna call you a madman for pulling out the whole playfield until I remembered that some of those williams games are a nightmare to work on because you can't pull the playfield forward and rest it on the backbox.

LOL - It rested ok.  There was so much to fix under there that I had to have it flat

I see you have the most important fluid for doing repairs....beer.  Tip of the hat to that USO koozie.  As soon as my work space can fit a beer I'm adding it.  Coffee just get's me more amped in being pissed at my solder working being complete shit.

LOL - or losing that thing that you JUST had 2 minutes ago.  This weekend, I did some repairs on my wife's laptop.  It was the original Surface Laptop and a total PITA.  She heard me back there screaming "FnC|<," and I had to come out and tell her everything was fine, the correct size torx bit was just magnetized to the bottom of the computer, and I couldn't find it.

A little beer helps those moments a bit . . .

Here's mine. It feels sparse as I don't get to work in this space as often as I'd like to.  Mostly do simple arcade PCB repair when I have the time.

One thing I went for here was LIGHT. I tried to make this space as bright as possible!

Sweet Vectrex.  I've got one of those that I would like to completely refurb.  There's a local guy who does arcade repair and he did one that looked amazing inside when done.  Maybe someday.

I dig the professional electronics workbench, I would totally put equipment on the top shelf to make it easier.

My bench of 10 years, having gone through various upgrades. Running a Hakko soldering iron, Hakko 808 desoldering gun for through hole PCB evacuation, Chinese hot air for surface mount components with Kester flux and lead solder. Current projects are:

Gameboy with clear everything and white backlight with Kitsch-Bent shell.

Lone Ranger NES game. PCB has several broken traces, so it’s getting a CHR/PRG swap to a donor board.

Colecovision. RAM upgrade and BIOS. I HATE soldering on that motherboard, what a nightmare.

Panasonic MSX2 FS-A1F. Belt change and complete replacement of the suicide AV board. Awaiting PCB from Osh Park.

Big stack of NES games to restore before they hit my shelves. Adding the ones on the desk, I’m sitting at around 540 loose NES games.
