  1. Some pickups over the past 6 months. Looking at 600 licensed NES games now. The SNES, NES, and the SMS are all PAL consoles from my trip to Denmark. The Fairchild Channel F is probably my favorite.
  2. Picked up this Lone Ranger for the NES as is from eBay. Had garbled graphics no matter how clean the pins were. Desoldered all the ICs and found multiple broken traces from the pins to vias. Found a suitable donor from searching on bootgod and works like a charm now!
  3. 3D World Runner for the NES. Difficult, but fun and quirky Space Harrier type gameplay. PLOK! for the SNES. Gorgeous graphics, especially over S-video. Fun, unique gameplay and a killer soundtrack. Only downside is no save feature.
  4. Thanks! It’s a RetroModding pastel blue shell with Kitsch Bent lavender NES buttons, zinc coated battery terminals, biverted, with a teal backlight.
  5. That’s the plan. I’m going to stop by a local comic book shop this weekend to see what protectors they have. I only have 28 issues but it’s a fun niche thing to collect.
  6. Nintendo Power No. 1 for $60. Pretty happy with that price, even in rough condition with the poster.
  7. My bench of 10 years, having gone through various upgrades. Running a Hakko soldering iron, Hakko 808 desoldering gun for through hole PCB evacuation, Chinese hot air for surface mount components with Kester flux and lead solder. Current projects are: Gameboy with clear everything and white backlight with Kitsch-Bent shell. Lone Ranger NES game. PCB has several broken traces, so it’s getting a CHR/PRG swap to a donor board. Colecovision. RAM upgrade and BIOS. I HATE soldering on that motherboard, what a nightmare. Panasonic MSX2 FS-A1F. Belt change and complete replacement of the suicide AV board. Awaiting PCB from Osh Park. Big stack of NES games to restore before they hit my shelves. Adding the ones on the desk, I’m sitting at around 540 loose NES games.
  8. The Master System is a hidden gem. The whole thing screams 80s with its angular design and grid blocks on the game case. Even imported a Mark III to accompany it.
  9. I’d say Master System after NES. Trying to get all of them CIB, and I have around 30.
  10. Haven’t been on a forum in years since NA shut down. Been collecting for over 10 years, mostly NES but have most other consoles. I have been restoring consoles and vintage computers for 19 years including mods, ROM hacks on carts, and all types of soldering. Happy to be here!
