  1. Finally just got a shipping notice for Darius: Cozmic Revelation from Strictly Limited. Still no word on my Cotton Reboot preorder, although their website says it's expected to ship in July. These are only my 2nd and 3rd orders from this publisher but my experience so far is that they make Limited Run look snappy.
  2. I enjoyed both... I know most people prefer the second, but I felt like part 1 had a tighter and more cohesive world, whereas part 2 went on too long for me. They are ~90% the same game though IMO, so if you though the first was garbage I'm not sure how much of an improvement you'll see in the second one.
  3. Wasn't last week "Rad Racer POO"? I'm smelling a theme here
  4. Just checked this. Damn, I'm glad I posted that last run... Looks like we had a photo finish for 5th place.
  5. I’m aware. So buy that or wait for somebody else to do an English version. This one is for people like me who already own the first two standalone releases, and that’s ok.
  6. Probably not the best but I’ve always had a soft spot for Roadblasters. It’s basically this game but with guns. And the arcade-style box art is amazing.
  7. Speaking for myself, LRG already released the first two separately, both of which I own, so if I couldn’t buy the third one and complete the set I’d be pretty pissed. Ideally they or some other publisher could do a separate release with all three games on one cartridge for whoever wants that.
  8. I appreciate the map photos though. It makes me feel better about crapping out right before the goal line when I see everyone else doing the same thing.
  9. Las Vegas, lap 3 Edit: same track but maybe 6 seconds better.
  10. Just want to say one thing RR2 100% has over the original is not mapping the radio to the down button. I accidentally change the music in Rad Racer so often that I usually just mute the TV when I play it now, because it's incredibly distracting. Which is a shame because I like the music.
  11. I've got an old rental copy of John Elway's Quarterback that is probably worse but nobody wants to see that crap.
  12. This is the ugliest cartridge I own. Just a nasty label. I’m not even sure what’s going on here.
  13. 184,740 I really hate when you run out of time juuuust before you get to the next outpost...
  14. Untitled Goose Game. Short, but two player co-op was fun with my kids.
  15. I started playing Fight’n Rage a couple of weeks ago and it has been sucking up what remains of my free time. Absolutely killer tribute to retro beat em ups and extremely addictive. The only problem is that I am old now and games like this destroy my hands. A friend game me a firm handshake this weekend and I swear I almost screamed.
  16. 34,163 I’ve always enjoyed this game but I’ve never understood the scoring. And it does get tedious.
  17. Fight’n Rage, which recently got a Limited Run release. I beat the game twice for endings B-GF and E-RF. Only 54 endings left to go! Edit: Ok, in the four weeks that I’ve had it I have beaten this one 14 times. I was joking about getting all 56 endings but I could probably knock that out in a couple of months. This is a very addictive little game.
  18. I'm not sure it's still true that the resale value is not there, at least for good condition items. I accumulated a good-sized Famicom collection over the last few years and I've recently sold off a few items fast, and for very good margins over what I paid for them. It doesn't hurt that covid has made shipping from Japan even more expensive than it used to be, so being a domestic US seller has added value now. Also, there's nothing wrong with collecting stuff just because it looks nice. I love Famicom carts partially because they look so much better than boring NES grey stuff, and the games are still (mostly) the same ones I grew up with regardless.
  19. What does it mean to “point press” the final boss? I got there with enough energy to zap it with one blast of thunder but had to switch back to lasers and bombs after that. I fought it for about five minutes before it finally picked me off, but in the meantime racked up about 50,000 points. Was that a point press?
  20. I'm sure a few here have seen this before, but a friend of mine once wrote this great article about Stadium Events collectors (and what motivates them) for ESPN. I think it's interesting to look at that article five years out and think about how game collecting has changed over that time -- Stadium Events is still a premium pickup, but other titles like sticker sealed SMB CIBs have surpassed it in terms of desirability.
  21. I started building RetroPies years ago to find games I could play with my kids. That lacked the tangible fun of playing on OG hardware, so I bought a few favorite titles to play on an old NES I cleaned up. Then I got addicted to started following eBay auctions and fell down the rabbit hole. My motivations have changed over the years, but ultimately my main focus is still on games I enjoy playing. But yeah sometimes I also buy crap just to show it off on the internet.
  22. Mine did the same thing on the way to STL but was finally delivered yesterday afternoon. Maybe they were carpooling??
