I don't think a Blu-ray is the way these games would be installed onto a console outside of a Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, or PS1. It also would be kind of redudent since you're just wiritng the data onto the disc to then install it on the console. Why not just put the game files onto an SD card and call it a day.

For modern consoles, the games are installed before being ran anyway. So the disc would only serve as an install and then a lisence key to play. It would be more cumbersome than just going the SD card route.

A disc was what first came to my mind but any physical outlet would do the trick. The issue is not to be dependable on a digital service that does and will be didcontinued.

Your right. If I sell an item, I got for free, on eBay for $10 shipped I make $2 after fees, taxes and shipping cost.

i rarely take the time to sell anything I don’t think I can get $20 shipped for selling on eBay. Any item that won’t sell for $20 I keep and try to sell local.

Yeah and the key issue is always sourcing whether you earn 2$ or 10$ but since you got that covered it can work out.

  3. I think this might be a thing for you Americans, not so much for me here in Sweden. We don't have those garage sales over here. I know of 2 second hands but the stuff isn't a steal and with auction hosts taking a cut and buyers factoring in shipping costs on their end there's barely anything left.

I'm not gonna stifle through old stuff to list, wait and ship in order to make 2$ if lucky.

No, it's the image--Mario, holding a power-up and jumping.  Mario also didn't have his style perfectly nailed down and that one and the one with the Mushroom were much more similar to one another.  I just don't know which version came first.

So you want items with Mario jumping holding the mushroom aswell and you're wondering why that one wasn't used more?

Oh, and I want to say, when it comes to imagery and versions of Mario, I will give this game that this cover of Mario is my absolute favorite.  More specifically, I do like the versions of this image on a black background and Mario is holding a small mushroom.  I'm not sure where the jumping Mario holding a Power-up motif originated, but if there was any classic branding item I'd want from any game, this is the one that I want hanging on my wall!

Well you do have that very image with the rootfruit as an advertising display sign so there's that.

Altough i don't know what you mean by "originated". How was it supposed to originate? It's just an artwork that was invented like any other.

  6. For me it is because NTSC in particular has games running in it's correct speed as opposed to PAL being 13-17% slower. So even if the artwork would look the same and even if i won't play the game anyway, because it's sealed or whatever, i still don't want it. Because that copy is inferior regardless.

Other reasons might be an excitement that simply expands because you have an underlaying appreciation of something. Then you see something that's in the same category but different, and you might like that style also or the novelty of owning something unusual.

  7. Well McDonalds ranges from all-out vegetables to all-out fried meat. But i assume you mean something in between, like any of the burgers.

I'd say cigarettes are worse regardless. By comparing ingredient vs. cigarette or all of the vs. a pack. Altough I'm not a doctor or nutritionist but yeah, i'd be pretty confident that that is the case.

  8. Yeah i saw a sold GB console that i can't for the life of me find anymore. The interface has changed to the left (where there used to be categories and sub-categoroes) there isn't anymore. It's just a white space. In my watching list there's only pics of the auctions i can't even click on them and go to the auction unless i use another system, say a desktop PC.

it all kinds of fucked up and it seems like they have this chronic urge to "improve" themselves but instead it just becomes shittier.

Sorry my bad I misread your comment. I thought you were complaining it has taken forever so you’ve never had a chance to play it even though there have been options for 5 years.

It's not only what any individual would do but the market as a whole. If you have a game that maybe will come out as physical years later, maybe never, then that does harm physical games as a hobby.

Many gamers will opt for physical over digital when given the opportunity but buying the game a 2nd time (or waiting multiple years for a potential first) actively decimates the potential pool of interested buyers.

I believe the common view is that 6 is the same as the rest, so it gets overlooked and undervalued. Most people will say 4-6 are all the same/prefer the first three. I've always preferred 4-6!

Yeah perhaps. Usually when people have a favorite i've noticed it tends to be 2.

I used to buy all this shit and then regretted it when I realized how much space it takes up. If you decide to sell later, the value often crashes hard and shipping big items is a pain. Now, I just like the occasional steelbook or artbook. If it doesn't fit in my standard shelf, fuck it.

Yeah you'd soon be forced to stack them on top of each other and then you have thr condition deteriorating as a trade off. The material also keeps being cardboard yet nobody seems to mind too much even though it can only ever be impractical.
