  1. It's worth playing from a historical perspective as a precursor to games like Dragon Warrior. For the Atari, there really is nothing else like it. It's the only actual RPG on the system. (Adventure doesn't count). As for the gameplay itself, its pretty basic. Roam the landscape, picking fights, grinding up your stats and gold enough to be able to clean out all the shops in the second level before facing the dragon. Very RNG dependent in the early part of the game, but once you've built up your attack enough (called "Dex" in this game), its just a simple matter of not letting your HP (called "Str") drop too low.
  2. I've started playing Solstice of my backlog... and given its difficulty, I don't know if completing it is a realistic goal for me... I'll give it a few more days.
  3. A lot of these boomer revolution songs are just a sad reminder of how things turned out.
  4. Majority on this list were made for the movie, although a few were just notably featured. As I mentioned before, this thread was not intended to be a comprehensive cataloguing, so there's no point to nominating additional songs unless those songs are in your top 3.
  5. Jr Pacman is crazy hard! The maze is huge and ghosts are so fast and deadly. I was shooting for 20k, but this was my best. Also spent some time messing around with Dragonstomper... this is like Dragon Warrior, but for the Atari:
  6. I was planning to do a larger selection, but I tested and it was google-able
  7. I would have liked to get a sequel to Metal Arms: Glitch in the System
  8. Does anyone else save their old membership cards? I guess this counts as a collection. Let’s see em!
  9. Looks like it reached #33 on the charts. Pitchfork magazine said “It's impossible to overstate, let alone list, the amount of composers and films who've ripped off 'Chase'.
  10. My goal was not to create a comprehensive list, but to make poll of everyone’s top 3… I think I got a lot of the biggest hits, obviously not all of them…
  11. I don't know if a song I've never heard of before would be considered "iconic"
  12. I was going to try to post videos for all of them.. but it's too many!
  13. Jim Carrey came out retirement for this?!

I never really got into pitfall...for Jungle adventures, I found the vine swinging in Jungle Hunt more satisfying and when it came to mapping routes and racing against the clock, I was much more partial to Private Eye.
  15. I usually get back a lot for child tax credits... but then what I owe on my magic income will chip away at that somewhat.
  16. I actually thought of Hugo's House of Horrors but wasn't confident enough to make a guess.
  17. Laser Blast for 2600... It's fun for 5 minutes... but to roll the score you have to marathon it for hours and hours... just mindless laser blasting... it's the "Desert Bus" of space shooters. sometimes you'll let yourself get shot down just to break up the monotony, which is not a big deal since you get bonus lives so easily.
  18. This was one my friends favorite games so it was hyped up for me a lot. I liked it, but it didn't really grab me enough to finish it.
