  1. Just want to point out that to play this game, you don't HAVE to pick obscure games no one has heard of... in fact, its probably more fun for people to actually be able to get it right more often.
  2. I've seen: Blood Simple (1984) Raising Arizona (1987) Miller's Crossing (1990) Barton Fink (1991) The Hudsocker Proxy (1994) Fargo (1996) The Big Lebowski (1998) O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) The Man Who Wasn't There (2001) Intolerable Cruelty (2003) The Ladykillers (2004) No Country For Old Men (2007) True Grit (2010) The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) The Coen brothers are consistently good! Here's a few classic scenes: John Goodman is a national treasure.
  3. that's awesome. I wish we still had one like this.
  4. Yes. There’s plenty of Atari games where you won’t be able to play it properly just by jumping in blind. A few NES games are like this too, but those tend to be more intuitive more often
  5. I feel like I've seen this before. Half-life?
  6. Finally beat the Snow White line! Check out that score
  7. I like these director-centric ranking topics... Scorsese would be a good one to do.
  8. I'd heard "Rock and roll McDonald's" from the Supersize Me documentary, but never investigate the rest of Wesley Willis' catalog.
  9. I'm not sure what you're talking about. Joe Dante says this sketch is completely accurate. It's exactly the way it happened.
  10. I assume you're referring to the Famicom 3d system, which used Active Shutter glasses. Those work by alternated which lens is open and flickering between the two images on the screen. It wouldn't require the red/blue (anaglyphic 3d), which accomplishes the same thing by color filtration method. Active shutter would look better because the colors would not have to be altered. The method used in movie theatres these days is with polarized lenses, projecting overlapping images with vertical and horizontal polarities. The drawback to this method, is that the lenses also filter out a percentage of the light, resulting in a noticeably darker image.
  11. It's a cool idea. To make it work with the cardboard glasses, they would have needed to make the colors a lot lighter. I make 3d comic books like this one: https://bit.ly/3dcomic so I know how to make it work.
  12. My complaint with Big Trouble in Little China is that it didn't have enough of the magical/fantasy stuff.
  13. my top 5 are: In the Mouth of Madness The Thing They Live Big Trouble in Little China Halloween
  14. I think I might have played it for 1 minute at the demo-station of an EB games.
  15. is it just me, or did this game's music rip off the Zelda 2 overworld theme?
  16. I shouldn't have died on this fight... I just wasn't careful enough
  17. finally made it past that first array of ground turret things. I made it to the boss of area 1 but didn't get a picture in time. I think my score was in 60k something...
