So here's the tournament details you have been waiting for: The top 16 will be qualified and invited to the tournament. The tournament will have three rounds, with the first two rounds being single elimination. The players will be seeded accordingly to their final standing at the leaderboard and will be paired in the following way: Bracket 1: 1st place vs 16th place Bracket 2: 2nd place vs 15th place Bracket 3: 3rd place vs 14th place Bracket 4: 4th place vs 13th place Bracket 5: 5th place vs 12th place Bracket 6: 6th place vs 11th place Bracket 7: 7th place vs 10th place Bracket 8: 8th place vs 9th place The top seeded player will pick the game the pair will play out of a set of four games we will supply. Each game will only be allowed to be picked twice. Expect obscure Famicom games. The second round will be like this: Winner of bracket 1 vs winner of bracket 8 Winner of bracket 2 vs winner of bracket 7 Winner of bracket 3 vs winner of bracket 6 Winner of bracket 4 vs winner of bracket 5 The top seeded player will pick the game the pair will play out of a set of two games we will supply. Each game will only be allowed to be picked twice. The winners advance to the grand final where the winner will be decided. The players will have to play 2 games that we will pick. And it will be MEAN games!

Right now @Dr. Morbisleads with 25 points, followed by @Jeevan with 23 points and @mbd39 with 21 points. @NESfiend with 18 points isn't completely out of the race! To decide the Arcade genre winner, we will be playing THUNDER AND LIGHTNING! The rules are simple: Pick 1 player mode Play till game over or till you beat the game Take your picture at the title screen. Your score will be showing at 1P and at Hi Highest score wins Participation: 10,000 points Genre: Arcade Have a good, fair fight lads. The contest ends Sunday, 10/03/21 at midnight Brasilia time. For Holy Diver, only the original Famicom cart and rom will be allowed.

We usually fix it if glaring issues are found in the first day or two or something is entirely too broken. Otherwise we wait to adjust the rules the next time the game shows up. It is already Wednesday and I don't see that accidental point pressing is a "too pressing" of an issue to change the rules at this point. Next time we run progress + lowest score.

That happens in a ton of games we played through the years and years of the contest. And so far, only Bert managed to beat the bloody game. I could consider y'all case if many more of you did the same feat and the point discrepancy was too large to ignore.

The hell you all talking about? One of the rules for this week specifically says "No point racking". That bit has been there since day 1.
