They will compete in the most beloved genre of our weekly contest, Sports. For this top 8/9, they will play 3 black box sports games to decide who is worthy of playing the grand finals! The games they will have to play to determine their final score and placing are: Blackbox Soccer Choose 1 Player game Choose whichever team you want Pick skill level 5 Pick half time 15 No PKs. if you tie the game, then your score is zero. Your tournament score for Soccer will be your goals for minus your goals against (ie If you win 5-2, your score is 3) Take your picture when the game ends. Be quick with your picture because you won't have a lot of time to take it before the game resets. Blackbox Tennis Choose Singles if you win by 6-0, 6-0, your score 2 tournament points Pick skill level 4 If you win by any score other than 6-0, 6-0, you score 0 tournament points If you lose, you score -2 tournament points Take your picture when the game ends. Be quick with your picture because you won't have a lot of time to take it before the game resets. Blackbox Golf Play all 18 holes Take your picture after you finish the last hole (either on the last hole screen or the title screen) Your tournament score will be your par times -1 (ex, you beat the game with a -5 par, your score is 5. You beat with a 3 par, your score is -3) Take your picture when the game ends. Be quick with your picture because you won't have a lot of time to take it before the game resets. Your final tournament score will be your Soccer score + your Tennis score + your Golf score. You must post a picture of each game score for your tournament score to be valid. The 4 players with the highest sum total will advance to the grand finals. Tie breaker, if needed, will be decided by the players Weekly Contest Geral standings. Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid. The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed. You must take a picture of your computer monitor. There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers. Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator. If you all prefer, we can go with the 4 blackbox games pick. Baseball is completely out as an option. If I were to add it, I wouldn't replace volleyball with it. I would just add it to the line up so you all would have to play 5 games for the top 8 score.

It could be worse. I could have chose to make you all play blackbox Soccer, Volleball, Tennis and Golf and the combined scores of all those games would define the winner.

If you have a cell phone, you can record your screen using it.

Hyper Sports will be highest score in one loop. If needed, the world records will be considered for tie breaker. Soccer will be highest score differential at skill 5.

Tennis will not require mere pictures. It will require video proof and 6-0, 6-0s all around. The only way a score that is not 6-0, 6-0 to count is if both players suck so much they can't do it against the CPU. In that case, highest score difference in the sets will win.

The tie breaker will be pretty straight forward. Score as many 6-0, 6-0s you can in a row. Stop when you don't score one or your mind breaks down. It will be PURE endurance.

If someone decides to forfeit and post a lower score to not advance to top 8 because one is too wimpy, frail and weak to play awesome sport games, that ain't my problem. I won't refrain from pointing that said one is a weakling, though.

Yes, using the NES version will be acceptable. Same with using the Famicom version of Soccer.

They're the same, but the Famicom cart uses less physical space.

So, for the top 8, we will be playing games of the most beloved genre of the whole VGS NES Weekly Contest, SPORTS! The games to pick will be: Soccer Tennis (Famicom) Hyper Sports (Famicom) It will be a thrilling top 8 for sure!

I am coming up with the list of games for the next round. I will post them Friday. The winners of brackets 1 to 4 will get the privilege to pick the game to play in the top 8.
