Video Game Travel Locations with Map

In many hobbies/interests, there are places all around the world that hold a certain significance for one reason or another. Some examples come to mind like; music venues, sports arenas, museums, shopping locations, gravesites, just to name a few.  I thought it would be an interesting idea to make a sharable map, assuming it has not been done before. I personally love to travel, so my mind often drifts to places I would love to go one day. It got me thinking that there must be numerous locations across the world that are significant and worth the effort to travel to that are video game related.

To help get the ball rolling we should consider the following

-          Historical significance (Ex. Original Nintendo Headquarters)

-          Shopping (Ex. Video Game Stores)

-          Museums (Ex. The Strong National Museum of Play)

-          Entertainment Venues (Ex. Funspot, the worlds largest Arcade)

-          Other

When suggesting a location to add, please write why it is significant just to give context. Obviously, someone can Google places but are they really worth traveling to??? The forum input is pivotal to this Map.  I have made a very small list to start with and the Map will always be a work in progress.

I don't know if you can go inside, but you can take pictures outside in front of the PlayStation sign...

Yeah I hear you about going in, I went to Rockstar North studio when I was in Edinburgh Scotland in 2019. I didn't go inside but I got photos outside. 270235339_321440649862815_1320183625799964689_n.thumb.jpg.b27d1609c332dbf30f593d9d24691a2e.jpg

My company did the electrical remodel for this and I used to live a 10 min walk away.

You 100% cannot go inside without an escort or official business.

EA is a short trip down 101 in redwood shores, and there is a Nintendo of america there too.

Back in the 80s/90s, the actual place i am posting this from in Santa Clara, Ca was a stone throw away from all the major devs. Capcom, data east, activision etc.

about 10 yrs ago i did some work In one of the old Capcom buildings on Scott Boulevard. I rummage through to see if I could find a case of un-opened megaman 1s or signage but I didn’t find anything.

cool idea for a thread.

I second Funspot. The sheer quantity of working 80s cabinets they have is astounding. I'll take pictures when I go there again(I live about 15 minutes away). Its pretty incredible. I turn into a 10 year old boy on the inside every time I go there. It's a must visit if you are into vintage arcade machines!

Is there any way to fast travel to these locations?  Some of them are pretty far away.

They will cost you anywhere from 500 credits and up, until you complete the "working for an airline" mission and then can fast travel at no cost.
