It took me about 18 months to realize the SNES Classic controllers work on the NES Classic

I've only been playing single player games on that thing for like 18 months thinking I only had one controller for it......lol....that said, I do need to snag up a 2nd NES one someday

Yeah just because one plugs in vertical and one plugs in horizontal it never dawned on me until today that it's the same port and that the SNES ones can work on the NES.
There have definitely been times at my house where someone wanted to play a 2 player game on the NES Classic and I thought we couldn't do it.

So yeah what RH said, be mind blown, but Wii classic style controllers those work too and the lame 3rd party trash that got peddled as well. 😉  So whatever you're most comfy with, they do work since the port is Wii-universal.

I've pretty much been using the Wii classic controller for my NESCE since day 1. Same port as the Wii remotes! Gald the SNES came with two controllers though.

Yep, and the other way around, you can use the NES and SNES Classic controllers with the Wii and Wii U. The SNES ones are excellent when paired with GBA games on the Wii U Virtual Console. 🙂
