4/7/7. Not trying to be controversial or anything, but that's just my view.  I never could quite get into The Beatles like, oh, everyone else in the world since 1960 but I definitely enjoyed a lot more of their music when they split up and started doing each their own thing.

I actually started out giving Live and Let Die a 9 but I had to bump it down after listening and thinking about it.  Yes, it's a good song but I think because it was made for a movie, it just felt a little too all over the place in it's thematics to be a frequently enjoyed pop song.  It's not that it's bad but it is a song that if I want to listen to, I need to be in mood to listen to Bond tunes because most of them are awesome, yet they all evoke a very James Bond-ian, action movie atmosphere.  That mood doesn't strike often so I don't really find myself wanting to hear this song often, either.

I do really enjoy George's latter work but End of the Line isn't at the top of the list for songs of his that I enjoy.  Wings could possibly be my favorite band from the 70's, though I would have to think about that.  John Lennon, ...bless his little heart. I don't think he wrote a single song in his post Beatles career that I actually enjoy.  I'm not trash talking the guy.  I just didn't enjoy his work.

I actually kind of feel the opposite. Their solo careers to me were their flaws that they compensated to diminish when together suddenly put out in the open. John was always so in your face, Paul started getting too sentimental (that John would hold in check in the 60s), and George/Ringo would occasionally have a banger or two, but overall just weren't on the level of Lennon/McCartney.

That being said, I did give Live and Let Die an 8.

I was never a huge fan of the Traveling Wilburys, so I went 6.

There are better Lennon songs. 4 for Beautiful Boy.

I'd only heard Live and Let Die prior to this thread, so I gave the other two a solid listen. Didn't like Beautiful Boy at all, gave it a 4. End of the Line on the other hand, I really liked, found myself nodding along and probably gonna be going "It's aaaaaaalright!" for the rest of the day. Solid 8 on that one for me.

Beautiful Boy is probably better than a zero, but by the Reed scale... I prefer Lil Xan.

Live and Let Die's saving grace is that it's a James Bond tune.  The GnR is better than the original.

And the Traveling Wilburys are great, of course.  I own both of those albums.

That reminded me of the time I was on a message board where someone said "I found this awesome song! It's Bob Dylan doing a cover of GnR's Knocking on Heaven's Door!"

And everyone was like "WTF? Did you think GnR did the original?"

He was like, "Yeah ... didn't they?"

And then the whole board went apeshit. 😄

I think you just have an unrequited love for Axl.

He's not going to call, James! He's just not! 😞
