After a year of growing my collection, it is starting to really take shape.

Don't mind the clutter, this is my living room and my kids have access to it, so wires, socks, and pokemon cards always end up somewhere...16734863776514311634392228538300.jpg.c6225a4f0926ec4b45f7de82e7d6c208.jpg

My near future goals is to get rid of that nasty entertainment center and replace it with a cube shelf and clean up that wire mess. The couch is pretty ratty, so I'm going to get a nice slipcover to give it a new upholstery look. Also on the to do list is a new TV and wall mount it, since that Vizio you see is a 15 year old beast with pixel burn.

Still lots of reorganizing and decorating to do.

And yes, Starfy gets front row center treatment. He's so cute and the game is such a fun little platformer, he deserves to be part of a franchise.

All feedback, questions, and ideas welcome.

Right now I have a NES mini, SNES, SNES mini, Wii, Wii U, PS2, PS3, GC, N64, 360, and Switch. I do plan to get more eventually. I've been looking into a Retron 5 or similar console and then I may start getting back into cartridges again and not exclusively disk games. My carts are very limited at the moment.

I would like a PS5 and a gaming laptop I can use to run steam and old windows games like Age of Empires and The Sims. Since those would each run over $500, first things first...

Got a new TV, Vizio V Series 50" and cleaned up a lot of the wire mess. Crazy to think that TVs of this magnitude are under $300. Surprisingly I had to quite a bit of research. Very few TVs these days have connectors outside of HDMI, this Vizio was among the only TVs with a AV hookup. I also ordered a retro trio, so the SNES will be going into storage and eventual display as that becomes my main unit for playing carts. I also ordered a cube shelf to act as my entertainment center which should be arriving in the next couple of days. It's going to look nice and clean.

Now I need to figure out a better way to make use of the space above the TV, as the new TV size blocks much of the poster. I might move the poster to the space beneath the TV and install a nice shelf above the TV to display my plushies.

Due to unforseen circumstances, I have to pack it up for a while.20230204_170227.jpg.3531bc84d5b8502f46d61466ca276a55.jpgAll well, it will come back bigger and stronger at my next house!

I believe it was @DoctorEncore who gave the recommendation for the Home Depot totes a while back in his moving thread. They are really rugged and stack well, and we're surprisingly cheap at $12 on sale for 27 gallon size. The lids are so so, but these are going safely in the back of the car and not a moving van. That's why everything's packed loosely and plushies to hold it all together.

Good news, everyone. After a very difficult couple of months managing many difficult life situations, I managed to snag an apartment of my very own. I'm excited to share my progress of putting it all together including setting my collection back up in my new living room. 3br apartments in my area of the world that are affordable on my own are exceedingly rare, and I am blessed to have one. I'm happy to finally start rebuilding my life along with enjoying my hobbies again. It has been a difficult year and I am happy to finally have something to celebrate!

All the systems are finally hooked up with most games on display. Still a fair bit to display as I somehow acquired close to 40 strategy guides. I'm thinking a magazine rack will do nicely in the space between the media shelf and cube shelf. The bottom left cube will probably be a drawer for controllers, and I'll eventually upgrade to nice controller hangers I can display in the negative space in the corner of the room. Can't forget about the pile of plushies either!

Where'd you get the magazine rack? I'm trying to track one down for my game room, too.

Amazon. It's really flimsy and the metal almost snapped assembling it. Looks nice, but be careful should you go with this one.
